KAS, TURKEY | Best Things To Do In Beautiful Kaş
Kaş is a beautiful seaside town on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. We stayed there for about a week and in this video, we highlight the best things to do in Kaş and the surrounding area. Kaş located about 188km to the west of Antalya and is known for its whitewashed houses, chill vibe and coastal views. It’s hip, but not as commercialized as Antalya, which means it attracts fewer crowds and maintains its charm.
Here are the best things to do in Kaş, Turkey:
7. Enjoy one of the many beautiful viewpoints in town. Kaş is built at the base of a high cliff, making for breathtaking views. The good news is, you don’t necessarily have to hike to one! The D400 highway that winds down into Kas offers one of the most spectacular views.
6. Hike part of the Lycian Way. There are many sections you can choose from., but we decided to hike from Mermaid Beach to Limanağzı Bay. This hike is relatively flat and is only about 3km or 1.8miles one-way.
5. Visit Patara Beach, which is the longest beach in Turkey. It’s an important nesting area for turtles during the summer months. But besides that, Patara is unique because of its large sand dunes that resemble a desert. You can also visit the Xanthos ruins here, which are a UNESCO world heritage site.
4. The ancient city of Myra ranks at number 4. It is located in the town of Demre, about 45 kilometers, or half an hour, from Kas. Myra consists of Lycian rock tombs which are built into the cliff face.
3. At number 3, we have the old town of Kaş. Home to little boutiques, lovely cafes and cute restaurants, and ancient rock tombs, this part of town is perfect for a morning or evening stroll.
2. The runner-up activity is to relax at the most beautiful beach around Kaş. This is called Kaputaş Beach. Located about 21 kilometers west of the town, you can visit this spectacular beach by boat or car.

We head there today and give you our first impressions of Kalkan, Turkey too!

PATARA IS AMAZING!! ???????? | Turkey's Longest Beach
In this video we travel to our new favourite beach and the longest beach in Turkey!! Watch as we head out from Kaş to visit the ancient city of Patara where it is believe St. Nicholas, Also known as Santa Claus, was born!! After working up a sweat we make our way to the incredible beach of Patara. At 20 kms long Patara was remarkably beautiful and natural, as there has been no development on the beach at all! It is also famous for sea turtles that are known to lay their eggs on the sandy beach!
After a few hours of swimming and playing in the waves we decide to attempt a climb up some of the nearest sand dunes the beach also has to offer, before heading back to Kaş for another stunning sunset!

Patara beach, the beach right next to the ancient city of Patara, is approximately 40 km from Antalya Kaş district. Patara beach is approximately 12 km long. It is one of the longest beaches in the world.
The sandy beach is also the spawning area of Caretta caretta turtles, so the beach is open at certain hours, 8 am and 8 pm. If you are planning to visit the ancient city of Patara, it is one of the beaches you should see. Patara beach and sand dunes are one of the most beautiful places you can see in Antalya.

Magic dunes of Patara Beach Turkey | Drone Footage
Patara Beach is actually the longest beach in Turkey, and it has not been ruined by development the way so many other beaches have. The backdrop to the beach is stunning; the limestone peaks of Lycia rise up in the north whilst farmland dominates the plains below. This is a real nature lovers paradise with only dunes, wetlands and a river beyond the beach, in fact barely a trace of humanity.

The Lycian Way - Hiking and Backpacking Turkey Ep. 7
A relaxed hike on the Lycian Way. Yes, they do exist. After all the turmoil from the day before it was great to have a nice and peaceful hike. The day started hiking through the forest in the shade to be rewarded with the view over Patara Beach, my end destination for this week.

The Lycian Way is a 540 km long thru hike. It is a way-marked footpath that takes zbout 29-day's to complete. It winds along the south coast of Turkey It starts at Ölüdeniz by Fethiye and goes to Antalya. The old trail is a combination of Roman roads, old footpaths and mule trails. It was researched, designed and waymarked by Kate Clow in 1999. The Lycian Way is Turkey’s first long-distance walking trail.

A Day in Turkey - Patara & Kalkan
While staying in Fethiye we caught a bus down to the ancient Lycian city of Patara and it's neighbouring beach. At 18km long, this is the largest beach in Turkey, and remains unspoilt due to it's protected status. We had a really great (and peaceful time) walking along the beach and running down the sand dunes. Travelling 10km further we then visited the small fishing village of Kalkan for a shop and a bite to eat, before returning to our hostel in Fethiye. If you're looking for quiet beach, away from the crowds and in a stunning location - this is it.

Patara beach and the ancient city, Butterfly Valley - Turkey day 16 [S1-Ep.73]
In this episode I finally have a day without rain, so I can leave Kumluca and reach Patara Beach, one of the biggest and most beautiful beaches of Turkey, and the ancient city ruins.
After visiting the ruins I start climbing on Babadağ mount to reach the amazing Butterfly Valley.
Dusk is coming so it's time to reach the hostel in Fethiye.

In this VLOG, we're spending the evening in KALKAN, a city on the Mediterranean Sea. We're also visiting PATARA, a beautiful beach town with an ancient city. On our way there, we're using a drone to see some fantastic sights!

Southern Turkey: Ancient City of Patara & Patara Beach
Our private villa in Kas was amazing, with a pool to swim in all day and plenty of space for the kids to run around, but we couldn't resist a day trip to an ancient city. Patara was such a cool place and there was so much to see that we didn't end up making it to. The ruins are expansive, and it was another hot day so that limited how much we could explore with the kids. However, we saw the major sites and it is such a cool place. Definitely worth the trip.
One of the coolest parts was the lighthouse, which is currently being restored to its former glory by artificial intelligence. Supposedly it may be the oldest lighthouse in the world, of course, it was found in pieces under the ground, but, nevertheless. They found an inscription on the stones dating it all the way back to around 60 A.D.
The beach at the ruins was a great way to end the day and it turned out to be our favorite beach in Turkey. The water was the perfect temperature, sand was soft, and the waves just topped it off. Such an amazing day we had.
