We happen to be traveling in Ghana, and my Dad happened to be in Nairobi, Kenya for a few days having some meetings, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity, to meet my Dad. Luckily it all worked out smoothly!
Accra, Ghana
Waakye - 8 GHC ($1.80) - Waakye is a popular Ghanaian food / meal, and that’s what we started the day with. You get rice and beans, a number of other starches, and some tomato sauce stew and meats, all piled high into a leaf bowl. It was delicious!
Makola Market - Next we visited Makola Market, the largest and most energetic market in Accra. It’s a must visit, to see the energy and life at the market.
The Accra Arts Center - Finally, we stopped off at the Accra Arts Center to buy a few things before leaving in at night.
Accra to Nairobi - We had a late night flight, and we landed early at sunrise to cool Nairobi!
After checking into a hotel just for 1 night, we took a quick hour nap, and then jumped into a taxi to go meet my Dad who was staying at a guesthouse.
It was great to see my Dad and at the guesthouse we compared our ancestry and our taste preference.
Then we went to go eat some Kenyan food, which was a highlight. Now do you know where I got my love for food from?
Java House coffee - Finally, as you already know, I have a tendency to enjoy caffeine, and so does my Dad. So it was only right to stop for a cup of coffee to finish.

Rock City Hotel and Nightclub is arguably the biggest hotel facility with the largest underground nightclub in the whole of Africa and the 50th biggest in the world right now.

This festival is celebrated in all the Kwahu communities, it is a festival of the Chiefs and people which comes off every year. Activities
Activities include para-gliding, hiking, carnivals and street jams. For the indigenes, that is the Kwahu people, it is an annual homecoming, but for holiday revelers it is an occasion for celebrations. There are also performances by various artists.
Over the years, the festival has proven that there cannot be Easter in Ghana without Kwahu Easter Para-gliding Festival. The festival which has been happening every year for about 10 years now, attracts both Ghanaians and foreigners to the Eastern Region during Easter.
Para-gliding which is a recreational and adventurous sport has numerous health benefits that visitors going to Kwahu will be blessed with after their visit. Through para-gliding, you can burn 230 calories per hour for an average 150-pound person, due to the immense adrenaline rush experienced while flying.
Also, it helps create confidence and enables you to overcome fear of heights. When para-gliding, you focus on the task and nothing else. You forget all your worries and the usual distractions of life. The intense focus coupled with adrenaline rush makes you feel cleansed mentally and physically.
Hiking the Odweanoma Mountain in Atibie is another activity that visitors explore during their short stay in Kwahu. Visitors take a hiking expedition to the mountain through the 'Nkofieho' Caves of Life.
The journey to the caves area itself is a unique experience through a typical forest. At a certain stage in the journey, tourists have to take on the challenge of climbing up the hill as part of the excitement.

Today i'm flying Ethiopian Airlines Business Class onboard their Boeing Dreamliner. I'll be reviewing my whole experience from the lounge offering, over to the hardware such as the seat, the food and even the bed. What's more this is one of their most unique routings, departing Oslo, Norway however as I'm currently in Greece i'll need to jump on a flight across Europe to pick up with this adventure.
Did you know that Ethiopian is one of the worlds largest airlines, the fourth in fact, and operate a diverse fleet of Boeing 777s, Airbus A350s and Boeing 787s. The backbone of their fleet, the 787 is what i'm flying today but they have two versions just to make things interesting. I'll be putting forward the case in today's trip report as to why I think this could be Africa's best Business Class - taking into account the competition and route network of Ethiopian.

Remote Côte d'Ivoire Village Food - We’re continuing our journey eating our way through Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in West Africa, and today we’re in the very northwestern corner of the country. Mo is taking us to his parents’ home village for some extreme local food and one of the most fascinating cultural celebrations!
Sananférédougou ( - We’re starting in Sananférédougou where we were welcomed by the entire village singing and dancing. They cooked a number of dishes including a porridge and the main meal including a whole guinea fowl with millet and locust bean. What an incredible meal, everything local and prepared by hand.
Kotoula ( - After our first meal we then headed over to Kotoula, where again we were met by extreme hospitality, dance and singing, and a dozen different local foods cooking all at the same time. There was smoked rabbit in a number of dishes including one of my all time favorite west African foods; peanut stew! I was completely blown away by the celebration of their culture and incredible food.
