Living In Croatia For A Month: What I Learned | Living Abroad Vlog | Croatia

Croatia could be the perfect country. A paradise of happy people, low prices, amazing landscapes and great travel. In this travel vlog I talk about what I've learned while living in Split for a month. Not just about Croatia and Croatian culture but also about how after only a few weeks in the country I changed my entire mindset and travel plans.

I've lived in Croatia for about a month now and created various vlogs about my experiences not just in Split but throughout the country's nature, small towns and cities. In this monthly wrap up, I give my honest opinion on not only the things I enjoyed about Croatia but also the things I didn’t. This country taught me a lot about myself what I’m looking for when I travel to another country. It caused me to immediately switch flights and travel plans to a country I never intended on visiting!

As these travel vlogs continue, I want to offer you a unique and honest perspective about the country I'm exploring. Due to the popularity of these monthly review style videos you can expect one at the end of every month. On top of that if there is anything you're curious about or want to see let me know in the comments and of course, subscribe to see my nomadic/living abroad journey.

The city is full of history and Diocletian's Palace is beyond verbal description. Today we visit Ron and Aaron in the nearby city of Trogir. Trogir has it's own charm and history and we will visit it in our next video.

We began our retirement in March of 2020 with the intent to travel the world, spending 1-3 months in a country or location. We want to see what it's like to live there and not simply visit, and we want to share these experiences and the costs with whoever wishes to follow along.

One of our spokes to our wheel for savings, and now an income stream
is Fundrise. Basically we are invested in many apartment complexes around the country.
We get a portion of the rents in the form of dividends, and growth in value with the appreciation
of the properties. We currently have selected an income REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust)
which historically pays between 7.5% - 9% annually in dividends. You can chose a balanced REIT which has a split between appreciation and dividends or a REIT where it's focused on appreciation and not dividends.
Check it out to see if it's a fit for your savings, or retirement strategy. Feel free to share this with those you feel may benefit from this program.

???? ABOUT US

Hey y’all, we’re Alyssa & Noah, we’re Canadians who travel vlog & blog while we backpack around the world. We have a passion for travel, so much so that we have transitioned to a long-term travel lifestyle, but we’re broke post-grads so everything we do is on a budget!

Our travel journey started in 2018 when we took our first trip together. Immediately, we both caught the travel bug and we started planning our next trip on the flight home. From 2018-2020 we did the normal thing that university students / people with full-time jobs do, we took our 2-3 week vacations each year and we had the best times of our lives backpacking. Eventually, the short trips just weren’t enough for us and we really craved more of an immersive experience, to really live in different countries and fully experience the cultures. We both expressed this interest to travel more and we were so relieved that we felt the same. Ever since, travel has become an integral part of who we are individually and has come to play an important role in our relationship. Once we had both finished our university degrees, we decided it was finally time and we transitioned to a long-term travel lifestyle. As of September 2020, we have been backpacking through Europe, experiencing other cultures, staying in hostels & AirBnBs, and traveling on a budget.

This last year has been really difficult due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. When we first left Canada in 2020, we were told that everything would be okay and there were no problems with traveling to Italy. Of course, everything got a lot worse than any of us could ever imagine or expect. Unfortunately, we quit our jobs, gave up our apartment, and all of our belongings are in our parents’ house. So, it’s not an option for us to go back home to Canada, so we are in Europe trying to make the best of a bad situation. We are following health & safety regulations for each country, traveling as safely as we possibly can: wearing our masks all the time and constantly staying updated on travel advisories and travel updates.

Over the years, we’ve learned a lot about traveling and we want to share all our tips and trick as well as our ongoing backpacking adventures with you! We hope to inspire you to travel and help you to plan your next adventure!
As always, stay safe & happy travels!
