Unfortunately, the media makes Iran look extremely evil, when in reality, it is absolutely safe to visit, and the Iranian locals are the most humble, honest and hospitable people that I’ve met in all of my travels to 137 countries. I am not joking!!
Over the next 14 days, I will be launching daily videos as they happened over the past 2 weeks of my life in this beautiful country. I will be digging deep into the ancient history, trying all of the best dishes, meeting eye to eye with locals and observing their unique lifestyle as I take you behind the scenes of this special nation.

Thoughts on IRAN After 6 Months...
Iran touched my heart in more ways than I ever imagined.
6 months ago I was on a 2 week journey around Iran, and not a day goes by where I don't think about the fun times I had in Iran.
In my mind, Iran is still the most misunderstood country in the world. It has THE MOST humble & hospitable people, delicious foods, ancient history and a culture that feels like you've traveled back in time.
And should I mention that Iran is one of the world's safest countries? I felt safer traveling in Iran than I do in my own country -- this is not a joke.
And just in case you are wondering — nobody told me to make this video. It is not sponsored. I made it out of pure joy because I want to share with you my 100% honest thoughts and feelings towards Iran. I can't wait to visit again soon (hopefully 2019!)

I'm talking about the same affordability level as in South East Asia (i.e. Vietnam, Philippines and Cambodia)... Yes, Iran is THAT CHEAP!

The World's Most Confusing Currency (IRAN)

One of my favorite things to do whenever I enter a new country (like Iran) is analyze their currency situation, exchange rate, and how these things affect their economy.
I’ve handled many inflated currencies over the past few years -- such as the Indonesian RUPIAH and Vietnamese DONG — but here in Iran, the RIAL gets a lot more confusing than inflation.
Iran has 2 different systems to count their money. The first is RIALS (the official Iranian currency), and the second is TUMAN (which is like the Rial, without the last zero). As a traveler, you don’t know which price is listed unless you ask. $1 USD = 50,000 Rials and that same $1 dollar = 5,000 Tuman. Sound confusing? ... It is!
Moreover, the only way to get money in Iran as a tourist is by bringing lots of cash (USD or Euros is preferred) and then exchanging it for Iranian Rials when you arrive. The reason is that there are no ATMs in Iran that cater to foreign banks.
If you are as confused reading this as I am typing it out, then this video will explain the confusing world of the Iranian Rial a little better.

Out of all my travels in 137 countries, it is right here, in Iran, where I have found the most hospitable and friendly people. Complete strangers coming up to me on the street, from big cities to small towns, offering me a cup of tea in their shop or a bed to sleep in their home.
I'm convinced that I could come to Iran with $0 in my pocket and easily be able to make friends, find delicious meals and be welcomed in a comfortable home like family. Seriously, it’s almost like Iranian people force you into their homes (in a good way!)
Over the last 2 weeks, I’ve told dozens of Iranians that I am both American and Jewish, and contrary to what you may think, it makes them like me even more, peaking their interest and asking more questions. I have not felt a minuscule of negative hostility yet from anyone in this lovely country called Iran.
Also, as I have now published 10 videos about Iran so far -- it really makes me laugh when I read some of the comments and hear people calling my videos propaganda. These videos are the farthest thing away from propaganda!!! They are telling you the downright truth from my experiences in Iran. Nobody told me to make this video (or any video). I made this because I feel the need to share what I am seeing to you. And I hope that by watching this video (and my others about Iran) -- that you will remove your negative stereotypes about this humble nation and realize that it's one of the safest and best places to visit on our planet.

I was in a fatal bus crash at 2 in the morning where two people died, and on top of that, I got severe food poisoning which led me to lose over 12 pounds.
So I came back as my new 32-year-old self to give it another chance and see if I would like it. As a Jew, and someone who has traveled extensively in Islamic countries, I can tell you honestly that Muslims are some of the most hospitable and friendly people in the world. The Middle East is one of my favorite regions to visit for this exact reason.
I get a lot of messages from people telling me to be 'careful' traveling through Muslim countries because I am Jewish... And I don't understand WHY they think this way. It doesn't matter whether you are Christian, Buddhist, Hindu or Jewish -- if you travel in Muslim countries, they will welcome you with open arms and food on the table.
I hope that this video teaches you a lesson that Muslims don't hate Jews, and vice versa. The world is a much more peaceful place than you may think.
