10 FAMOUS SINGAPORE LOCAL FOODS!

10 FAMOUS SINGAPORE LOCAL FOOD !

In this Video of singapore food guide, we will introduce you singaporean food from the hawker center. To name some of these, laksa, nasi lemak, chilli crab, hainanese chicken rice and many many more. If you are a tourist, rest assure that these cheap food , best food will be your singapore food tour guide. Enjoy.

In Singapore, food is viewed as crucial to national identity and a unifying cultural thread. Singaporean literature declares eating a national pastime and food a national obsession. Food is a frequent topic of conversation among Singaporeans. Religious dietary strictures do exist; Muslims do not eat pork and Hindus do not eat beef, and there is also a significant group of vegetarians. People from different communities often eat together, while being mindful of each other's culture and choosing food that is acceptable for all.

Other than Singaporean cuisine, it is also common in Singapore to find restaurants specialising in cuisine from a great variety of countries around the world.
When dining out, Singaporeans often eat at hawker centres, coffee shops or food courts rather than restaurants, due to its convenience, wide range of options and affordability. These hawker centres are widespread, cheap and may feature hundreds of stalls in a single complex, with each stall offering its own specialty dishes. Well-known hawker centres include Lau Pa Sat and Newton Food Centre. Coffee shops are non-air conditioned versions of food courts and are commonly found islandwide, usually at the bottom of blocks of HDB flats.

This Episode Features

Singapore street food tour MICHELIN Bib Gourmand 2022 edition, let’s GO! We only visited 9 out of 67 Singapore Michelin Bib Gourmand 2022 spots but surely they are worth trying when you are planning your trip / travel to Singapore.

1) Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice at Maxwell Food Centre
One of the best Hainanese chicken rice we’ve ever eaten. If you are in Singapore, you need to try chicken rice which unofficially national dish of Singapore.

2) Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice at Chinatown Complex
Be prepared to wait for about 1 hour for this claypot rice. We suggest to order mixed rice that comes with chicken, pork sausage, salted fish

3) J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff at Amoy Street Food Centre
S$1.80 for the crispy curry potato chicken puff, freshly cooked and it’s perfect for snack

4) Hong Kee Beef Noodle at Amoy Street Food Centre
Two options to choose soup or dry beef noodle. Whilst our preference is fully packed beefy noodle soup, this place serves clear and mild beef noodle soup.

5) A Noodle Story at Guoco Tower & Amoy Street Food Centre
From humble beginning in hawker centre stall at Amoy Street Food Centre, this Singaporean style ramen earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for 7 consecutive years.

6) Eminent Frog Porridge at Geylang
Well known spot to have frog even among local Singaporeans. Frog legs cooked in different sauces from Gong Bao (dried chili), Spring Onion, Chinese Essence, Chinese Herb Soup and paired with plain porridge. Both frog legs & plain porridge are cooked in claypot which make them so aromatic and super flavorful. We tried the Gong Bao with their promotion “buy 2 get 1 free” and did not regret it at all.

7) Tai Wah Pork Noodle at Hong Lim Market & Food Centre
Hong Lim hawker centre is conveniently located not far from Chinatown Singapore. Tai Wah pork noodle is famous for bak chor mee that translates to minced meat noodles. Egg noodle tossed in vinegar, soy sauce, minced meat, pork slices, pork meatball and lard.

8) Song Fa Bak Kut Teh
Bak Kut Teh means “meat bone tea” - basically pork rib dish cooked in broth of herbs and spices, known for health benefits. Song Fa Bak Kut Teh have many branches across Singapore and their broth is sweet peppery rather than herbal flavour.

9) Unagi Tei formerly known Man Man Japanese Unagi at Keong Saik Rd
One of the best unagi dish we have tried outside Japan. Unagi Tei is famous for hitsumabushi, Nagoya specialty dish.

Street Food Singapore!! 5 Hawker FOODS INVENTED in Singapore - with KF Seetoh!

???? Ultimate Singapore Chilli Crab Tour:
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!
???? KF Seetoh:

SINGAPORE - Today I’m hanging out with the one and only KF Seetoh, a legend of Singapore street food and hawker culture. We’re going to take you on a born and bred food tour of Singapore - dishes that were invented right here in Singapore.

Here are all the places we ate at in this Singapore food tour:

Bak Kee Teochew Satay Bee Hoon ( - First we headed to Bukit Merah, also known as Red Hill. It’s a huge neighborhood complex, market and hawker center. There’s a massive selection of food to choose from, but KF Seetoh took me first to eat satay bee hoon, or thin angel hair vermicelli covered in seafood and pork, and a ladle of creamy peanut sauce.

Hong Seng Curry Rice ( - Within the same Red Hill hawker centre you’ll find Hong Seng Curry Rice, where you can enjoy another popular Singapore street food - Hainanese curry rice.

Geylang Lorong 29 Hokkien Mee ( - Continuing on this food tour we drove over to Geylang to eat one of the best versions of Hokkien fried prawn mee, a stir fried noodle dish that’s one of the most beloved in Singapore. They make it by the batch and we had the chance to see the entire process of how it’s made. Delicious!

The Original Vadai ( - Next up over to Joo Chiat to eat at the Original Vadai - a Sri Lankan origin - yet transformed in Singapore to be more light and fluffy, totally different texture and flavor. They are so addictive and one of the best things about them is that you bite a green chili and then follow it with bites of the prawn vadai.

Sha Zah Confectionery ( - Finally to complete this food tour with KF Seetoh we headed over to Sha Zah Confectionery for their giant curry puffs. A perfect way to end this delicious Singapore street food tour!

Thank you again to KF Seetoh for taking me around. Be sure to follow his food adventures: and if you’re in NYC, go eat at Urban Hawker center!

UNEXPECTED SINGAPORE FOOD TOUR! ???????? what to eat in Singapore beyond its most iconic dishes!

Hello from beautiful Singapore! ????????
We came here to visit a dear friend and somehow managed to make a video about the food lol - it was challenging at first because there's a lot of seafood (we don't eat seafood), and a lot of Malaysian food and we just made a food tour video in KL, so we weren't exactly sure what to show.

BUT, our friend helped us put together a video with a lot of local favorites and we ended up trying so many delicious Singapore foods we had never heard before! ???? We hope you enjoy watching and learn as much as we did :)

If you have questions, please leave them in the comments. You know we're always happy to help!

PS: we announce where we're going next at the end of the video!

Singapore Food Guide: 20 LOCAL dishes you MUST eat

20 local Singapore dishes to eat when traveling to the lion city. TRAVELERS AND FOODIES — focus on WHAT to eat and not where to eat it. Unless you have tried multiple shops for the same dish you have little to compare it to.

My cousins and aunties/uncles made sure to order all the favorites they grew up on.

Singapore foods featured here:
Dim sum: sticky rice, cha siu bao, siu mai
MBS food court: roast pork, cha siu pork, roast duck, soya sauce chicken
Chinatown: Hainanese chicken rice (recommended by Anthony Bourdain), soya sauce chicken, THE BEST FUCKING ROAST PORK NOODLE EVER
ECL Food Village: Chili crab, mutton satay, black/white carrot cake, oyster omelette, popiah, sugar cane juice
Little India: Fish head curry, fried lady fingers, lime juice
Hougang Mall: Wonton noodle soup, dry wonton bbq pork noodle
