Munich, the capital of Bavaria, was founded by a group of Benedictine monks who settled in the rich farming area that was close to Catholic Italy. In 1175 Munich formally became a city. It was eventually destroyed by allied bombing during World War II. After the war, the Bayern set to work and rebuilt this remarkable place. There are many interesting things to see in the city itself including the famous Glockenspiel. The metropolis also hosts the famous Oktoberfest celebration each year. Hemmingway said of Munich, “You needn’t bother going anywhere else. I can tell you: you can’t beat Munich, everything else in Germany is a waste of time.” Apparently, he overlooked the day trips from Munich to some of Bavaria’s most famous historical sites.

24 Hours In Zurich, Switzerland - Interrail Trip - Canon 5D Mark III Magic Lantern 60fps Raw 14 Bit
Some shots from a trip back in April to Zurich, Switzerland. It is a beautiful place and cant recommend it highly enough!
I recommend viewing a Zurich travel guide and researching the best sites. We viewed the Grossmunster and Fraumunster churches and sat by Lake Zurich. I wish we had time to visit Uetliberg however!
I shot the entire video with the Canon 5D Mark III using Magic Lantern firmware. I used the new 4k crop rec module and shot everything in 60fps 14 bit lossless raw. The aspect ratio is 1920 x 800 hence the reason for the black bars. I like this effect and would usually add this in Premiere Pro anyway. Recording times are short but it made me far more disciplined. The lens was mainly the Canon 24-70 f2.8L version and some on the Samyang 14mm T3.2.

EOS 5D MarkIII + MagicLantern RAW Movie
今回は言わずと知れた?Canon EOS用のカスタムファームであるMagic LanternによるRAW動画を ”いまさら” 撮影したのでテストがてらアップします。 もう2年前に騒がれたMLですが、しばらくウォッチしない間に専用のRAW動画現像ツールまで整備されて、CFの値段も一時期よりも安くなったことからRAW動画に対する敷居はだいぶ下がった印象です。以前にもEOS 50DによるRAW撮影による動画を数本アップしましたが、単純比較はできませんが、そのときのMLの印象から大幅に安定感が増している印象です。今回はFHDサイズで撮影できるEOS 5D MarkIIIにて撮影をしています。MLに関しては情報がいっぱい転がっているので説明はここでは致しませんが、もしも試される場合はあくまで自己責任でご使用ください。現像はMlRAW ViewerにてC-Logガンマ風?設定でのストレート現像+FCPX上で若干のレベル調整を行っただけの状態ですので相当眠い映像に見えます。更にLUT当ててDaVinciで色を弄りたい所ですが、MacMiniの環境なので今回はおあずけです。
時間があったら通常撮影との比較をしたいと思います。

There’s something about the way the mountains still glisten with snow even into the sunniest of summer days, the turquoise lakes — all of which are amongst the cleanest in the world — the fields of alpine flowers… it just goes on and on.
I decided to spend 9 days in the swiss alps and visit the unseen places . 9 days of advenrure, hiking, trekking, camping and discivering .

24 Hours In Milan - 5D Mark III 60fps Raw
Another part of our Interrail trip across Europe. A stop over in between St Moritz and Venice. It is an amazing city if you have money to burn on shopping! We did not unfortunately. Just window shopping for us!
All footage was shot on the Canon 5D Mark III using Magic Lantern Raw. I shot it in 60fps 1920 x 800. I exported to DNG and graded in Lightroom.
