Leilani Estates Kilauea Volcano Eruption Fissure 3
Fissure 3 opened around 6:00 a.m. HST on Friday, May 4, with weak fuming from a crack on Kaupili Street. This fuming increased, as did rumbling sounds. Eventually spatter was ejected and accumulated around the fissure. Large, loud bubble bursts were common at this fissure.

A small black sand beach is formed when the surf quenches the hot lava.

KILAUEA ERUPTION 2018:
This is Internet compilation of recent footage from eruption Kilauea Volcano on The Big Island of Hawaii. Eruption which started in May 2018 - if sustain in intensity - might be the biggest eruption of Kilauea in history. Kilauea and Mouna Loa are two most active volcanoes of Hawaii Island and Kilauea is constantly active since middle of '80.
So far over 2000 people have to be evacuated from areas of Big Island which are affected by lava flows from new fissure in the Kilauea volcanic complex.
This compilation is at the same time opening act on this site for my upcoming tour around volcanoes of the world which starts August 23 with 6 days visit on Kilauea.
I hope more interesting footage will be posted here. Footage in this compilation is from different sources of daily news on internet about development of eruption on Hawaii. Footage of Paradise Helicopters, US News, USGS and US Military News were used here (there is no my own footage in this compilation). Not all of the footage is from Kilauea/Hawaii locations. Boiling Lava Crater Lake from US News is from Vanuatu Volcano in the South Pacific.

Puʻu ʻŌʻō Lava Flow
Kilauea is the most active volcano in the world and along her Southern flanks lava is entering the pacific at a steady rate. To get to this hike follow Crater Rim Drive to Chain of Craters Road until it dead ends at the Pacific Ocean. This flat 8 mile out and back hike starts at the Hōlei Sea Arch and ends at the active Puʻu ʻŌʻō Lava Flow into the pacific ocean. While this hike may be long it is not particularly challenging along a well graded class 1 trail and a must do for everyone. Be warned wear layers and be prepared for rain any time of the year. As you near the lava flow one can smell the sulfur dioxide released by the lava and people with lung issues are advised to take extreme caution and not proceed. If you are feeling adventurous, where the trail ends you may follow the roped off section to the lava cliffs along the Pacific Ocean. Here you will witness red hot lava pour into the Pacific, a memory you will soon never forget.

Short crude time lapse video from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Kilauea volcano, Halemaumau lava lake plume at sunrise on a still cloudy morning. Shot with my old Nikon D200 and the 10.5 mm 2.8 lens. The plume was spreading all over the summit area causing the foggy conditions.

Hawaii’s Kīlauea volcano has destroyed 26 homes and spewed lava hundreds of metres into the air, leaving evacuated residents unsure how long they might be displaced.
A volcanic eruption has spewed magma from the ground in a small community on Hawaii’s Big Island, sending people fleeing from their homes as molten rock burned trees and threatened more destruction.
A total of 26 homes have burned to the ground on Hawaii's Big Island as slow-moving lava continues to make its way through neighborhoods and streets, leaving a trail of destruction behind.
More than 1,700 people have evacuated their homes since Thursday when the Kilauea volcano started oozing lava. Hazards from new volcanic cracks that opened Saturday have left residents on edge and hurrying to find shelter. The eruption, along with strong earthquakes.
Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes. It’s in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which has since closed off nearly 15,700 acres due to “the possibility of a new eruption and unstable geologic activity.”

Massive stream of lava makes the ocean explode in Hawaii
