5 reasons I LOVE living in Prague, Czech Republic! | American expat living abroad in Prague

The Czech Republic rocks! It's a fascinating little country with a vibrant and exciting capital city--the modern medieval wonderland of Prague, where I've been living abroad as an expat since November 2019. On this perfect July day in Prague, I took a walk from Malá Strana up through the northern part of Petřín park toward Strahov to catch some stunning views of the city, assert my territorial dominance over competing vloggers in Strahov, and talk about 5 of the top reasons that I love living in the Czech Republic. No beer, sausage, or stag parties on this list. ;)

5 things that ANNOY me about living in Prague | American expat living abroad in the Czech Republic

I said so many positive things about Prague, the Czech Republic, and Czech people in my previous videos that some people were suspicious. So in this video I decided to do some (good-natured) complaining and talk about five things that really annoy me about living in Prague, Czech Republic. It also turned out to be a good opportunity to rant a bit about the negative consequences of rampant tourism and corporatism.

To illustrate my points, I took a walk through the main tourist area of Prague, from the National Museum (Národní Muzeum) down through Václavské Náměstí (Wenceslaus Square) towards Staroměstské Náměstí (Old Town Square), by far the most annoying part of Prague and maybe the entire Czech Republic.

Why Prague? How did I end up here? | American expat living abroad in the Czech Republic

Finally got around to editing this video I filmed about a month ago...I took a walk around Havličkovy Sady (a beautiful park slightly off the beaten path in Prague that features a unique classical Greek-themed grotto) and talked about how I ended up accidentally living abroad as an expat in Prague, Czech Republic. I originally had my sights set on being an English teacher or digital nomad while traveling throughout Asia and Europe, but I got waylaid in Prague when the coronavirus lockdowns hit Europe in early 2020--and I've been here ever since.

What are Czech people REALLY like?? | Impressions from an American expat living abroad in Prague

Are Czech people rude, cold, and unapproachable? Do I find it hard to connect with locals or make friends? Will I ever be truly accepted and feel like I belong here? I answer all these questions and more in today's video, where I take a long walk around the famous castle complex of Vyšehrad in the heart of Prague, take in some of the best views in the city, and talk about my experiences and impressions of Czech people as an American living abroad in Prague, Czech Republic.

WHY I LEFT AMERICA (and why you should too?) | American expat living abroad in the Czech Republic

Do I hate America? Do I hate FREEDOM? Why did I decide to leave the USA in the first place and start living abroad in the Czech Republic? What are the pros and cons of being an American citizen, and how do they influence my experience as an expat? I answer these questions and much more in today's video from sunny, picturesque Pula, Croatia, a popular holiday destination for my fellow Czech countrymen. I took a walk around the famous Pula Arena, to the ancient Roman Arch of the Sergii, and all around the bustling tourist center of Pula to talk about my experiences as an American-citizen-turned-expat living in the Czech Republic and spending a summer holiday (as all good Czechs do) in beautiful Croatia.

Czech Republic is the UNHEALTHIEST COUNTRY in the world?! | American expat living abroad in Prague

Early on in my time living abroad in the Czech Republic, I was amazed to stumble across an article claiming that of the 179 countries compared in a 2017 study, the Czech Republic was named the unhealthiest country in the world. How did they come to that conclusion? Is the health of the Czech people really as bad as they say, or is there more to this story? Tune in as I explore the beautiful Stromovka park in northern Prague and break down my impressions of the public health situation in the Czech Republic.

Here's a link to one of many news articles that reported the story in 2017:

What is it like living in Prague as a foreigner? Pros & Cons of Prague?

This video is about What is it like living in Prague as a foreigner? Pros & Cons of Prague Czech Republic? In this video my Welsh friend, who is an expat/foreigner living long term in Prague, Czech Republic, talks with me about what it is the lifestyle like for him and foreigners in general living in Prague. He discusses with me about the pros and cons of living in Prague. See what it is like living in Prague! Czech it out! See what I did there? This is the 2nd day during my 3 day layover in Prague Czech Republic. I was visiting my Welsh friend who still lives there to this day since the time I used to live there back in 2013-2014. When I first got there, I did my Oxford TEFL course there and got a Trinity College London Certificate to teach and shortly after started teaching at a private university called University of International and Public Relations Prague.
