BEST THINGS TO DO IN HIROSHIMA, JAPAN
The Peace Memorial Park and Museum is perhaps the most well-known tourist attraction in Hiroshima, but it isn't the only thing you can do there. Hiroshima has a castle, a beautiful landscaped Japanese garden, and some of the best regional Japanese food in the country featuring dishes like okonomiyaki and oysters. Plus, Miyajima Island and the floating torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine is just an hour away!

What to do in Miyajima - Hiroshima | Japan travel ????????⛩Street food, Deers and cherry blossoms
In this video I finally get to meet Yukako's Family, they were sweet and great people. After seeing my first cherry blossoms we went to Miyajima Island, where we enjoyed some incredible oysters, but it was impossible not to notice the phallic look of the presentation! hahaha.
This island is well known in Hiroshima because of its street food and food in general really, and boy they really live up the to hype. The streets are always busy with people and you can try all sorts of treats, including my favourite treat called もみじ饅頭 (Momiji manjū), which is like a cream puff ????
The last time we came here it was raining, so we couldn't do much, but this time the weather was quite nice, so we got to enjoy the deers and we decided to go to the peak of the mountains to get a nice view and damn! that was great, not only an incredible view but also a nice exercise ????

Hiroshima Miyajima day trip from Kyoto: Japan travel vlog Part 2
I agonised over the itinerary for this trip. Work commitments meant the number of days we had were limited, but out of the destinations I planned to visit during our stay, there weren’t any I was happy to drop. A friend who had recently visited Japan said maybe I should drop Hiroshima, which was going to be an overnight stay. I nearly took their advice, but then I figured out that I could visit Hiroshima and Miyajima in a single day from Kyoto.

Takehara is a small town to the east of Hiroshima close to Tadanoumi and Okunoshima (Rabbit Island) which is often referred to as the Mini Kyoto or Little Kyoto, full of Edo style architecture, history, shrines and temples.
A great opportunity to experience small town Japan and learn more of the history of Japan, even though everything may be closed!

Exploring the beautiful city of Onomichi in Hiroshima prefecture
Today I explore the beautiful city of Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture.
Onomichi is very famous for the Shimanami-Kaido(しまなみ海道). But if you watch this video I think you’d want to see other parts of the town too. And there’s much more than I was able to show you in the video.
In the video I said “Onomichi is famous for a couple dishes” and I introduced the Onomichi Ramen. But besides that, Okonomiyaki arranged in Onomichi style which locals call “Onomichiyaki” is super yummy too. I tried it off camera and it was awesome. If you have a chance, try it.

HIROSHIMA AND AMAZING MIYAJIMA ISLAND DAY TRIP! | Backpacking Japan Vlog 2
Hiroshima is the City that the US dropped an Atomic Bomb on during WW2 in 1945 so it is a popular stop on a trip around Japan. After taking the Shinkansen / Bullet Train from Osaka to Hiroshima, I spent the afternoon in Hiroshima visiting the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. Although it was very sad it was also very interesting and the Peace Park is a lovely area to walk around.
The following day I went on the popular day trip from Hiroshima to Miyajima Island and I had such a great day. I have a JR Pass so the train from Hiroshima down to the coast to Miyajima Station is included and there's a JR boat over to the island included in the pass meaning I didn't have to spend any money on transport.
Miyajima Island is most famous for the Great Torii Gate that sits in the water and looks like it's floating when it's high tide. It also has deer roaming the streets which are lovely to see. I wandered around and headed to some temples and generally really enjoyed Miyajima as a Japan Day Trip!

Hiroshima was hit by an atomic bomb in August 1945. Today, you can visit the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Park and Museum to learn more about this horrendous event which affected thousands of people.
Another way of learning more and discovering information not available in museums is to speak to Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Survivors, another fascinating addition to your list of Things to Do in Hiroshima.
Visit Social Book Cafe in Hiroshima on the 6th of each month to speak to survivors of the Atomic Bomb. In this video, I talk about the story of Takaaki Morikawa, who was just 6 years old at the time of the Hiroshima bomb. He provided fascinating and intreresting information relating to his experience during and after the atomic bomb.
Please note that I chose not to film the actual meeting for this video as I didn't feel comfortable; ie I didn't feel it would be respectful. Why not visit Social Book Cafe in Hiroshima to hear Takaaki's amazing and unimaginable story for yourselves!

What to do in Hiroshima [Hiroshima City in a Day] Part 1
Hiroshima (広島) is the principal city of the Chugoku Region and home to over a million inhabitants.
When the first atomic bomb was dropped over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, the city became known worldwide for this unenviable distinction. The destructive power of the bomb was tremendous and obliterated nearly everything within a two kilometer radius.
After the war, great efforts were taken to rebuild the city. Predictions that the city would be uninhabitable proved false. Destroyed monuments of Hiroshima's historical heritage, like Hiroshima Castle and Shukkeien Garden, were reconstructed. In the center of the city a large park was built and given a name that would reflect the aspirations of the re-born city: Peace Memorial Park.
