RONDA (source Wikipedia):
Ronda is a town in the Spanish province of Málaga. It is located about 105 km (65 mi) west of the city of Málaga, within the autonomous community of Andalusia. Its population is about 35,000 inhabitants. Ronda is known for its cliff-side location and a deep chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the town.
It is now one of the towns and villages that is included in the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park.
Puente RomanoRoman Bridge,( also known as the Puente Arabe Arabic Bridge as the foundation is Roman and was later rebuilt above in the Arabic Period );
Puente ViejoOld Bridge,( also known as the Puente San Miguel);
Puente NuevoNew Bridge, span the canyon. The term nuevo is something of a misnomer, as the building of this bridge commenced in 1751 and took until 1793 to complete. The Puente Nuevo is the tallest of the bridges, towering 120 m (390 ft) above the canyon floor, and all three serve as some of the city's most impressive features. The former town hall, which stands next to the Puente Nuevo, is the site of a parador and has a view of the Tajo canyon.
The 'Corrida Goyesca' is a unique and historical bullfight that takes place once a year in Ronda in the Plaza de toros de Ronda, the oldest bullfighting ring in Spain. It was built in 1784 in the Neoclassical style by the architect José Martin de Aldehuela, who also designed the Puente Nuevo. The partially intact Baños Arabe (Arabic baths) are found below the city, beside the Puente Arabe ( Also known as the Puente Romano ) and date back to the 13th and 14th centuries. Nowadays you can visit them although you can not enjoy an original Arab bath but you can see all the facilities. Also, in its time, the Arab Baths used to fulfil the function of purifying the visitors who came to the city of Ronda. They are the best preserved Arabic baths.
Plaza del Socorro is the modern political centre of Ronda. It was here that Blas Infante showed the Andalusian flag and coat of arms for the first time in 1918. The parish church of Socorro (Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Socorro) was only built in 1956. The building known as the Casino and Circulo de Artistas (Artists' Society) is located on the north side of Ronda's Plaza del Socorro.
The Palacio of the Marqués de Salvatierra opens irregularly as a small museum of Renaissance art and artefacts. The Palacio is an 18th-century renovation of an earlier 16th century building gifted to the family of Don Vasco Martín de Salvatierra by the Catholic Monarchs when they redistributed the spoils of the Reconquest. In 1994, Madonna obtained a permit to shoot inside the palace of the Marquis of Salvatierra for the music video of Take a Bow.
Despite the name, The Casa del Rey Moro was never the home of a Moorish king. It was built in the 18th century, when Moorish Spain was already a distant memory. Its apparently Moorish gardens are even more recent, having been designed by the French landscape gardener Jean Claude Forestier in 1912. The house does incorporate one genuine and important relic of Ronda's Moorish era: the so-called Water Mine, a set of steps down to the river carved into the cliff wall.
Serranía de Ronda is filled with charming pueblos blancos which are approachable by car. The position of the town of Ronda provides a stunning view over the mountains of Serranía de Ronda.

????????[4K] RONDA Spain Amazing City Walking Tour in May 2023 | Málaga, Andalucía
Ronda is one of the most spectacular villages that you can get. Sitting high above a gorge, on a rugged rock plateau, it is adjoined by the photogenic stone bridge called Puente Nuevo, 120m high that took over 40 years to be built.
One of Spain’s oldest towns, Ronda was first settled by the Celts and later inhabited by the Romans and Moors. It was a favourite with the 19th century Viajeros Romanticos (romantic travellers) – artists and writers like Orson Welles, Alexander Dumas and Ernest Hemingway who searched for inspiration in Europe’s most unspoilt destinations.
No doubt Ronda is a must visit city when in Andalusia, being so close to Seville or Málaga (1,5h-2h drive).

On our way to Ronda we made a stop at El Chorro. El Chorro is a small village fifty kilometres northwest of Malaga, and well know for its outdoor and mountain climb activities. The outside temperature was 35°c at midday, so pretty hot for any outdoor activities. So we continued our way to Ronda. Ronda is a mountaintop city with stunning lookout views and Puente Nuevo, a stone bridge spanning the gorge. Definitely a place you should visit, one for the bucketlist.

Ronda (2024) is a town in southern Spain in the region of Andalucia. Ronda is located approximately 105 km west of Málaga and has a population of 35,000. Ronda is built on high cliffs with a deep canyon over the Guadalevín River which is part of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park. The Bridge connecting the city over the Guadalevín River is Puente Nuevo. Some highlights of the city are the old centre with the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor and the Plaza del Socorro, the Palacio of the Marqués de Salvatierra, the Plaza del Toros Bullring and the Guadalevín River with the cliffs.

Ronda è una città spagnola che si trova in provincia di Malaga, il paese si trova arroccato sulla gola “El Tajo” scavata dal torrente Guadalevin. E’ una delle città più belle dell’Andalusia, in grado di lasciare senza parole tutti, anche personaggi famosi. La città ha tradizioni arabe e spagnole, con panorami incredibili .
La città di Ronda ha catturato l’interesse di scrittori come Hemingway, Joyce e moltissimi altri, tra cui anche Orson Welles che ha deciso di fare spandere le sue ceneri per la città di Ronda. Sicuramente se programmate un tour in Andalusia allora è il caso di includere Ronda che si trova a poco più di 1 h da Malaga e 1,45h da Siviglia.
Potete visitare Ronda in un solo giorno e completamente a piedi dato che non è molto grande
Ci ha davvero affascinato per come è stata costruita e per la sua storia antica ma è soprattutto conosciuta per il suo Ponte Nuovo, davvero fantastico!
