Gozo, Comino and the Blue Lagoon | Malta Travel Diary
Gozo is the second largest island in the Maltese archipelago. Packed sailing boats take day trippers to the island to visit the natural wonder of the Azure Window, immortalised in Game of Thrones since it has now sadly completely collapsed into the sea. The tiny island of Comino and its famous Blue Lagoon awaits afterwards, packed with friendly, tanned tourists who make you do crazy things like take a jet boat ride for the first time!

Heute geht es für uns auf die unglaublich vielfältige Inselgruppe Malta mit den Inseln Malta, Gozo und Comino.

Wir hoffen, dass es Euch und Euren Familien weiterhin gut geht. Es gibt Licht am Ende des Tunnels und wir drücken die Daumen, dass ihr alle schon bald wieder euren Hobbies nachgehen könnt. Hier für Euch ein Video um dem Fernweh zu trotzen.

Die ersten Nächte verbringen wir im „The Westin Dragonara Resort Malta“ in St. Julian’s (0:17). Wir tanken ein bisschen Sonne am Privatstrand des Hotels, schlendern durch die wunderschöne Altstadt von Saint Julian (0:27) und am Abend stocken wir unsere Urlaubskasse im Casino auf. Am nächsten Tag machen wir einen Spaziergang (inkl. kleiner Schiffsfahrt) in die Hauptstadt Maltas - Valletta (0:47). Die barocke Stadt ist für ihre Paläste und prachtvollen Kirchen bekannt. Malta ist jedoch nicht nur für seine wunderschönen Altstädte, sondern auch für zahlreiche Drehorte bekannt. Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Wickie und Popeye sind nur einige Beispiele. Unser nächster Stop ist die mittelalterliche Stadt Mdina (1:04) - die ehemalige Hauptstadt von Malta. Game of Thrones Fans können dort das Tor von King’s Landing - das Mdina Gate - besichtigen.
Für uns geht es nun weiter auf die kleine Nachbarinsel Gozo (1:20). Ihr erreicht Gozo nach einer halbstündigen Fahrt mit der Autofähre. Dort findet ihr ruhigere Strände, Salzbecken und die Felsenküste Dwejra Bay (2:27) (Drehort von „By the Sea“).
Letzter Stop ist für uns die kleinste Insel des Archipels - Comino (1:59). Dort findet ihr türkises, glasklares Wasser. Es ist wirklich paradiesisch. Leider hat sich das jedoch schon rumgesprochen. Deshalb solltet ihr auf jeden Fall die erste Fähre am morgen nehmen, um auf die Insel zu gelangen. Bereits gegen Mittag kommen massenweise Touristen mit Booten auf die Insel.

For the first few nights we stayed at „The Westin Dragonara Resort Malta“ in St. Julian’s (0:17). The hotel is located a short drive from the airport and offers everything you need to become accustomed to the island. If you are ok to walk you can browse through the old town of St. Julian’s (0:27) towards Sliema and hop on a ferry to Malta’s capital Valletta (0:47). The baroque city of Valletta is known for its palaces and magnificent churches. Malta has been the perfect location to film several well known movies. Game of Thrones, Gladiator, Wickie and Popeye are just a few to mention. Our next stop is the medieval city of Mdina (1:04) - the former capital of Malta. Game of Thrones fans can visit the gate of King’s Landing - the Mdina Gate.
Our next stop has been the neighboring island of Gozo (1:20). It takes half an hour by ferry to get there. Gozo offers quieter beaches, the rocky coast of Dwejra Bay (2:27) (location of By the Sea“) and salt pools.
The last stop for us is the smallest of these three islands - Comino (1:59). You will find crystal clear and turquoise water - close to heaven. Unfortunately, the island’s beauty is no secret. Therefore, you should definitely take the first ferry early in the morning. The island gets crowded quickly around noon.

???? Cuarto y último día de viaje por Malta donde visitamos las islas de Gozo y Comino. En Comino se esconde uno de los tesoros malteses, la Blue Lagoon o Laguna Azul de Malta, una pequeña cala con arena blanca y agua azul turquesa que nada tiene que envidiar a otras playas paradisíacas.
En Gozo se encuentra la zona de Dwejra, donde se puede ver lo que queda de la famosa Ventana Azul, e mar interior y la ciudad de Victoria.
Acabamos el día en el pueblo de Popeye para ver el atardecer.

Di nuovo a Malta - Un isola unica.
4 giorni alla scoperta di Malta, un isola Stato che stupisce, unica, Malta assomiglia solo a se stessa. Siamo stati a La Valletta, Mdina, e all'isola di Comino per un tuffo al Blue Lagoon.
