I hope to visit the city of Almaty again in the near future .

My focus will always be on the culture, food and of course the local people of everywhere I travel to! What to do and eat in Almaty? | KAZAKHSTAN FOOD & TRAVEL VLOG

In this video we visit the largest city and the former capital of Kazakhstan - Almaty. We were amazed how modern and nice city Almaty really is. And damn those mountains surrounding the city are beautiful!
We start off by taking a cable car on top of Kok-Tobe Hill. Then we eat the Central Asian horse meat noodle dish called Beshparmak. We also learn how the taxi system works in Almaty before we see the most beautiful lake ever - Big Almaty Lake!

Not the Kazakhstan Borat comes from - the Travel Professor investigates.

The Travel Professor goes to Kazakhstan to see if the country is really like what was portrayed in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. In contrast to the movie, Kazakhstan is a modern country, with friendly people: the site of the 2017 World Expo.
I try their national dish: Beshbarmak made from horse meat.

After three and half amazing weeks in Kazakhstan, i wanted to share some of my experiences and tips to hopefully help others. Almaty, Kazakhstan 2019 - Facts & Sights

A walk around what most people consider the “real” capital of Kazakhstan.

Travel to Kazakhstan with Japanese friends (Part 2)

I traveled to Kazakhstan together with Japanese friends between Sept 15-21. We took a direct flight connecting Narita and Nursultan and took a local flight to Almaty. In Almaty region, we joined my Kazakh friend and a professional tour guide who took us to a ranch owned by our mutual friend (100 km west from Almaty) where I stayed with Japanese horse riders 6 months earlier this year, Charyn Grand Canyon, Kaindy and Kolsai Lakes, Zharkent near the Chinese border, Singing Dunes at Altyn Emel National Park, as well as Almaty City and surrounding tourist attractions such as Big Almaty Lake. We utilized our transit time (5-6 hours) in Nursultan to explore the capital city on Sept 15 and 21.

Avoid this Mistake when Sightseeing in Almaty | Casual Sightseeing in Almaty on the Way to Almaty I

In this video we are on the way to the train station Almaty I and visit several more sights on the way. When Sightseeing in Almaty, Kazakhstan for the first days I assumed the modern part contains the main sights.

Turned out after six days in the city that the main sightseeing attractions in Almaty are away from the popular modern part of town. Here are the places we visit along the way:

-Zelyoniy Bazaar
-Zenkov Cathedral
-Almaty II train station

Enjoy your time in Almaty and in Kazakhstan, talk to me in the comments below and subscribe to this channel to follow me on this journey. Watch the next video to find out about the 24 hour train ride from Almaty to Astana and if the capital of Kazakhstan and the second coldest capital in the world is worth visiting in winter.

Kazakhstan, a land of contrasts, where ancient traditions meet modern progress, where the echoes of nomadic history reverberate through its vast landscapes and bustling cities, and where the spirit of exploration and discovery thrives.

This is exactly what it feels like to travel around the vast Central Asian country of Kazakhstan. From the absolutely breathtaking canyons and pristine lakes of Southern Kazakhstan to the forever bustling city of Almaty and the futuristic capital city of Astana, Kazakhstan is truly a one-of-a-kind destination.

In this travel video, I will take you on a ride across Kazakhstan from the southern part of the country, all the way to the north, showing the beautiful contrasts of landscapes in the steppe and its nomadic roots as well as the ruins from the Timurid era and the Slavic influence over the region, all the way to the crumbling Soviet era, the incredibly progressive present, and the bright future that awaits, compressed into this 4-minute compilation video of my journey across the country.

I hope this video will inspire you to visit Kazakhstan and create a true perception of what it is actually like here. Spoiler, it's nothing like the fictional Kazakhstan in the fake documentary style movie, Borat!

Enjoy!

Location: Almaty, Charyn Canyon, Kaidy and Kolsai Lakes, Shymkent, Turkestan, Aksu National Park, and Astana
