There are 10 localities in Croatia that are part of UNESCO List of World Heritage sites. Plitvice Lakes is Croatia's best known national park and the only Croatian natural jewel that is on the UNESCO List of World Heritage sites. The main attractions of this park, unique in the world, are the 16 small lakes joined by waterfalls created by the sedimentation of travertine, a special type of limestone. This national park encompasses the source of the river Korana, located in the area surrounded by dense forests of beech, fir and spruce. There are also several caves in the park, as well as springs and flowering meadows. The brown bear stands out as one of many protected animal species.
It is impossible to say whether the park is more beautiful in the spring, when the flowers in its meadows are in full bloom and when the trees have turned green again, or when the riot of autumn colours is reflected in the waters of the lakes, or indeed during the winter calm, when ice petrifies the waterfalls and when the surrounding trees are heavily laden with snow. By a network of paths, visitors can get around and access the numerous waterfalls and the rocky lake shores easily.

Plitviče Lakes National Park is world-famous for its lakes arranged in cascades. Sixteen lakes can be seen from the surface.
Plitviče Lakes National Park is a 295-sq.-km forest reserve in central Croatia. It's known for a chain of 16 terraced lakes, joined by waterfalls, that extend into a limestone canyon. Walkways and hiking trails wind around and across the water, and an electric boat links the 12 upper and 4 lower lakes. The latter are the site of Veliki Slap, a 78m-high waterfall.
With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. The process of tufa formation, which results in the building of the tufa, or travertine, barriers and resulted in the creation of the lakes, is the outstanding universal value, for which the Plitvice Lakes were internationally recognised on 26 October 1979 with their inscription onto the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. The park is situated in the mountainous region of Croatia, between the Mala Kapela mountain range in the west and northwest, and the Lička Plješivica mountain range to the southeast. Administratively, the park falls within two counties: Lika-Senj (90.7%) and Karlovac (9.3%).
Plitvice Lakes National Park will be open for visitors from May 11, 2020.
Previously closed 21 March, 2020 , on the basis of press release issued by the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia on March 21, 2020 at 10:00, and Article 21 of the Statute of the Public Institution “Plitvice Lakes National Park”, the following document was adopted: Decision on closure of the Plitvice Lakes National Park and ban on visits due to circumstances caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) disease (COVID-19)
Each year, more than 1 million visitors are recorded at Plitvice Lakes National Park.

The video footage was taken during a Royal Caribbean Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas in September 2022, sailing from Ravenna.
I played and produced all of the music in the video and is a slightly different version of the famous TV Theme tune, that was filmed in Croatia!!
The video was recorded using theinsta360 X2 Camera, which is absolutely amazing!! (No endorsement)

Krka National Park - Croatia's Waterfall Wonderland - Timelapse Video - 4K
Less known than Plitvice Lakes, but equally stunning, the Krka National Park is situated along the Krka River in southern Croatia. It's known for a series of 7 waterfalls. In the south, Skradinski Buk waterfall is flanked by traditional watermills. To the north, a nature trail passes another striking cascade, Roški Slap.

➤ Skradinski Buk is the most visited part of National park Krka, at Skradinski Buk there is a walking trail which takes about 2-3 hours, most of the trail is wooden planks, the trail has an elevation of about 50 metres.
