Hi guys welcome to aclaireytale!! Welcome to a new travel guide & top tips video in MALTA!!!!!

We have just come home from an amazing holiday in Malta! It was a mixture of relaxing and exploring, I hope you enjoy the vlog!

We start off the vlog straight away in Malta! I am talking from the top of our hotel in Sliema, Malta! I take it back to Travel Day!!! We fly with Ryanair from Liverpool Airport to Malta Airport. I include all the costs in the vlog.
We pre-booked a private transfer from the airport to the hotel via Ryanair. The transfer takes us to our Hotel, the AX Victoria. Stay tuned til the end for a full hotel tour of the AX Victoria and The Palace. Our first day, we stay around Sliema and I didn't vlog but then the next day we had a day out in Mdina! We headed to Sliema waterfront to the bus station to get the 202 bus from Sliema to Rabat. We booked a walking tour of Mdina through Guru Walking Tours. Highly recommend, we had such a good time and learned so much about the history, culture and people of Malta. We went to Rabat and the old capital city, the silent city, Mdina. She finished the tour sharing some food recommendations and I share these with you. We try the Malta Street Food Pastizzi which is delicious. We also tried the herb drink, Kinnie! We leave Mdina. The next day we relax at hotel then head into Sliema for dinner at a traditional Maltese restaurant. Simon tried their famous rabbit and I had Maltese pasta. We also had their famous bread and dip - Ftira and Bigilla.

Then we head to Valletta, the capital city of Malta! We spot the famous Maltese vans on the way to the Sliema Valletta ferry. We get the ferry across to Valletta. We have another Guru Walking Tour around Valletta going to all the famous places. We go to Triton fountain, the saluting battery, parliament buildings. We head to Valletta waterfront and cruise terminal to see the Hard Rock. Then we head back up in the lift in time for the 4pm canon fire in Valletta. We are shown why they used to do this and still do the firing at 12pm and 4pm.
The next day we head back to Valletta to go inside St John's Co-Cathedral. It truly was one of the best cathedrals I've ever seen. Inside the cathedral there are 2 Caravaggio paintings including the only one he ever signed. We then got the ferry over to 3 cities (Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua) we explore the three cities, ate in Vittoriosa and then we went to one of the Malta Sightseeing stands to book a Gozo and Comino Excursion for the next day!

On our final full day, we did the Best of Gozo and Comino tour. We booked with iseemalta and the excursion includes to boat trip to the two islands and private transfers when on Gozo. The boat took us over to the island of Gozo first where we went to Ta' Pinu basilica. We then stopped at the capital of Victoria and the old capital of Citadel. Next we went to Blue Lagoon on Comino! The bluest waters ever! We give you a tour and show you some fish and jellyfish! I give you my top tips of Blue Lagoon. That night we ate at Fortizza in Sliema, delicious.

Finally I give you a tour of the hotel AX Victoria, show you the amazing breakfast buffet the swimming pool and all the hotel's facilities.

1 DAY in 3 CITIES | Malta | Tour April 2023

The Three Cities are comprised of Cospicua (Bormla), Birgu (Vittoriosa), and Senglea (L-Isla).

Cospicua: A Maritime Haven
Our first stop is Cospicua, also called Bormla. Nestled on the eastern side of the Grand Harbor, Cospicua has long been associated with Malta's maritime heritage. The city's waterfront is a bustling hub of activity, with colorful fishing boats, waterfront promenades, and a vibrant atmosphere.

Cospicua boasts an impressive array of fortifications, including the imposing Cottonera Lines, which were built to safeguard the harbor. Explore the city's historic core, adorned with beautiful churches, palazzos, and charming squares. The Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception, with its stunning Baroque architecture, is a must-visit.

The city's dockyard area, known as Dock 1, offers a fascinating glimpse into Malta's naval history. Visit the Malta Maritime Museum, housed within the former British naval bakery, to learn about the island's maritime traditions, shipbuilding, and naval battles.

Cospicua is also renowned for its lively local markets, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant colors, scents, and tastes of Malta. Sample fresh produce, and traditional delicacies, and interact with friendly locals as you explore the bustling market stalls.

Birgu: A Living Museum of History
Our second destination takes us to the historical city of Birgu, also known as Vittoriosa. Steeped in history, Birgu offers a glimpse into Malta's past with its well-preserved architectural gems and captivating charm. As you wander through the narrow cobblestone streets, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time.

Birgu is best known for the imposing Fort St. Angelo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that played a crucial role in Malta's defense throughout the centuries. Explore its fortified walls, ancient battlements, and underground tunnels that reveal stories of invasions, sieges, and triumphs.

The city's main square, Victory Square, is a bustling hub of activity, surrounded by historic buildings and charming cafes. Don't miss the Inquisitor's Palace, a fascinating museum that sheds light on the island's complex religious history and the role of the Inquisition.

Birgu's waterfront, known as the Vittoriosa Marina, offers stunning views of the harbor and is lined with luxurious yachts and charming restaurants. Indulge in delectable seafood dishes while soaking in picturesque surroundings.

Senglea: The Three Cities' Hidden Gem
Our final destination takes us to the charming city of Senglea, also called L-Isla. Located on a peninsula, Senglea offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Grand Harbor and is often considered the hidden gem of the Three Cities.

Senglea is best known for its impressive fortifications, with the towering Gardjola Gardens serving as a testament to the city's strategic importance. From here, you can enjoy stunning vistas and watch over the harbor, taking in the sight of majestic ships sailing in and out.

Explore Senglea's quaint streets and discover beautiful churches, such as the Basilica of Our Lady of Victories, which dates back to the 16th century. The city's waterfront promenade, known as the Senglea Point, is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely stroll, with charming cafes and restaurants lining the way.

Senglea also offers unique cultural experiences, with its vibrant local festivals, including the traditional regatta, showcasing the island's rich maritime heritage. During these events, the streets come alive with music, fireworks

4 Days in MALTA ???????? | Valletta, Gozo, Mdina & More Travel Vlog

This travel guide will show you the best things to do in Malta! I visited the island for 4 days and got to see so many places - from Gozo, the Blue Lagoon and Mdina to Comino and Sliema. In this vlog I share the best food in Malta, famous filming locations (Game of Thrones anyone?) and what to do in Malta ????

If you'd like to visit, spend 3 nights in Malta for a fun and culture filled extended weekend! Flights from other European cities tend to be super affordable and the island is still very sunny in the autumn, making it the perfect getaway.

Other places we will visit in this travel vlog include Ggigantija Temple, Xaghra, Melieha and The Three Cities (Vittoriosa, Senglea & Cospicua). Are there other things to see in Malta you'd recommend?

PS: I went on this Maltese adventure with three other travel Instagrammers. Check them out @thirdeyetraveller, @saintsonaplane and @melbtravels ????

Malta Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Malta.
Homer called Malta, ‘The Centre Of The Sea’. This island situated in the heart of the Mediterranean and was important to both the orient and the occident. After the Phoenicians and the Punier came the Romans followed by the Arabs and the Normans: but it was the Knights Of Malta who made the most indelible mark here.Valletta is also known as The City Of Palaces and is Malta’s main city, full of historic buildings, and in 1530 the Order of the Knights of Malta moved its main residence to this part of the island. The St. John´s Co-Cathedral was built in1577 by Gerolama Cassar as a monastic church of the Order Of The Knights Of Malta and its splendid interior was financed by the profits gained from hostilities mounted by the Order against Muslim trading ships. Mosta is situated in the middle of the island, a busy small town with a famous landmark, Mosta Cathedral, a huge sacred building whose mighty dome can be seen from almost anywhere on the island. The rugged southern coast of Malta contains small fjord-like features and numerous grottos, the most spectacular of which is the Blue Grotto. From the village of Wied-Iz-Zurrieq a steep path leads down to the sea and when the weather is suitable experienced guides take passengers on small boats through a narrow canyon into the grotto where the colour of the water is truly fascinating. One of the prettiest villages on Gozo is Gharb whose Baroque parish church dominates the main square. Here it is as though time really has stood still. With seven thousand years of history Malta is a colourful and beautiful island with tales of the sea and noble knights: a tantalising pearl set in the very heart of the Mediterranean.

This is a video about Malta, the main island which is the archipelago of the same name next to Gozo and Comino. The capital is Valletta, which has several important buildings such as the Grand Master's Palace and Casa Rocca Piccola, a palace built in 1850 that shows how Maltese families lived centuries ago. Under its foundation there are two bomb shelters of World War II. It is also advisable to visit the Co-Cathedral of St. John and the Upper Barracca Gardens.

Right in front of Valletta are the Three Cities: Cospicua (Cospicua), Senglea (Invicta) and Birgu (Vittoriosa). Important are the Inquisitor's Palace, the church of the Dominicans or the beautiful church of San Lorenzo. From the Port of Birgu boat tours depart that run the Port of Valletta.
One of the quintessential tourist resorts is Marsaxlokk, a seaside village with a port with clear water. Close by is the Blue Grotto, a natural arch in the cliff with a cave deep underground.

The video shows also the first Maltese capital, the Mdina, and its architectural heritage mostly Baroque. Mdina is next to the town of Rabat where is situated the Wignacourt Museum, where you can two bomb shelters, III century catacombs and the Cave of St. Paul. Finally, the video shows images of the Temple of Hagar QJM, two kilometers southwest of the town of Qrendi.
