Everything YOU need to know to visit Palm Springs California. Palm Springs became famous starting around the 1950’s when Hollywood stars would flock here for relaxation and parties, often by the pool, with a craft cocktail in hand. Known for its hiking, mid-century modern architecture, natural beauty, and did I mention sparkling pools, with lazy rivers, water slides, and swim up bars? Rain is rare here with over 300 days of sunshine per year, perfect for playing golf at the regions 100+ golf courses. About 400,000 people call this area home, but the city gets its name from the approximately 10,000 palm trees that grow here.

Check out this Palm Springs, California Vacation Travel Guide. This is a great desert city with lots to do including exploring the outdoors, shopping, eating, and hanging out at some amazing resorts.
Relax at the Elixir Pool Bar & Grill at V Palm Springs Hotel. This Polynesian inspired venue is a great place to relax & unwind. The food and drinks are delicious. Check out the Sparrows Lodge and their Barn Kitchen for lunch. This is a really unique venue and thing to do in Palm Springs with great food and a fun atmosphere. It almost feels like summer camp. Check out the Moorten Botanical Garden. It’s a nice place to relax and see in Palm Springs. The Antique Mall at Sunny Dunes Antique Mall can also be a fun unique thing to do in Palm Springs.

Palm Spring is the largest city tucked away in Riverside County, California. It lies on the western edge of the Coachella Valley. Long before the area was called Palm Springs, it was referred to as Se-Khi (boiling water) and was founded by the native Cahuilla Indian tribe. They were the first humans to settle in the Indian Canyons.
The Cahuilla Indians inhabited the canyons of Palm Springs 2,000 years ago. The streets and areas were named after their surnames, such as Andreas, Arenas, Amado, Belardo, Saturnino, and Chino.
Palm Springs became a health resort in the 1900s and was incorporated as a City in 1938. Also known as a hideaway for some of the famous Hollywood stars in the past. It is only two hours from Los Angeles and San Diego. Some people built their second home.
The city is diverse, with many outdoor activities such as Tahquitz Canyon Trail and Tahquitz Canyon Waterfall, watch the video of it here:
