Experience the Breathtaking Beauty of Ancient China's Capital of 13 Dynasties, Luoyang City
Luoyang is one of the oldest imperial capital cities in China with many impressive culture heritages which are dated back to the Song Dynasty.
Luoyang is situated along the northern side of the Luo River. The train station is located to the north of the town centre, and Jinguyuan Lu goes from the station to Wangcheng Square.
Tourists come here primarily to see the Longmen Caves, The White Horse Temple and Guanlin Temple which all lie in proximity to the town, rather than the town itself.

Luoyang is an industrial city in central China’s Henan province, in what is widely recognized as the region where Chinese civilization originated. Luoyang, ancient China’s capital during multiple dynasties, is home to Baima Si (White Horse Temple), among China’s first Buddhist temples, founded in the 1st century. Nearby, the Longmen Grottoes contain thousands of Buddhist rock carvings dating to the 5th century.
Located in western Henan Province along the Yellow River, Luoyang City is strategically located in central China. It is encircled by mountains and plains. This ancient capital of China once had the reputation of being impregnable.
The great Hu Lao and Han Gu Gates were intended to protect it from possible invasions. Luoyang is known for having many historical and cultural sites to explore. The city is often referred to as the capital of poets. Many books were written by Chinese poets who have gathered here.
Luoyang covers a little over 15,000 km² and has more than 6 million inhabitants. The history of religion is important in this province. Luoyang was indeed the cradle of Taoism and it is here that the Chinese government built the first Buddhist temple, the Temple of the White Horse. The Longmen Grottoes are an incredible homage to Buddhism. There are more than 100,000 Buddha statues.
The Museum of Ancient Tombs is home to sumptuous tombs dating back several hundred years. The Shaolin Temple has seen the birth of many martial arts including kung fu.The province of Luoyang also offers beautiful landscapes. The White Cloud Mountain Park, the Guan Yu Forest and the Xiaolangdi Dam on the Yellow River all deserve a little detour to enjoy nature.
The region is also known for its peony culture. In April, an important festival is even dedicated to them.Luoyang has an airport connected to the cities of Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. It is also accessible by train and bus from many major cities including Canton, Xian, Jinan, Wuhan without forgetting of course Shanghai and Beijing.

Presentation of Longmen Caves
-------------------⭐⭐
South of the city of Luoyang, the Longmen Caves are spread out about 1 km. Beautiful Buddhist statues have been dug into the limestone. The setting is sublime with Mt. Xiang Shang on one side, Mount Longmen Shan on the other and the Yellow River in the middle.
Construction began at the end of the fifth century and lasted no less than 400 years after. The cliff where the caves are located is nearly 1,000 m long and there are more than 2,100 caves where more than 100,000 Buddha statues have been carved. The largest is 17 m tall and the smallest only 2 cm !
Fengxianxi Cave is probably the one with the most successful work. The finesse of the details is simply astounding. In addition to the statues, you will find many stele and about forty dagobas. You have to know that the caves are mostly closed to the public but it is still possible to get relatively close to the statues and admire these masterpieces without problem.

Why foreigners should visit Quanzhou, a rarely visited but totally underrated city! EP15, S2
I stayed in Quanzhou for quite some time, and it quickly became one of my favorite cities in China.
Foreign tourists are rare, but Quanzhou is a hidden gem. And I have enough reasons to say that. As the birth place of Fujianese culture and the first Chinese trade ports that opened up to the outside world Quanzhou is the place to find a huge diversity in Fujian Province:
⭕️ Kong Fu and Shaolin Temple
⭕️ Beautifully preserved historical city quarter (UNESCO sites!)
⭕️ Great food, laid back, and stunning landscape
⭕️ Incredibly diverse religion, and you can find temples, mosques, churches...
and the list goes on...
In short, it is a super laid-back city with modern charm, and an ancient soul!

Hello friends, I’m from Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a very beautiful island country in south Asia located in the Indian Ocean.
I got the opportunity to study in China for a period of one year. Chinese Government offered this free training considering the long term friend ship between China and Sri Lanka.
Chinese people are very kind and helpful. I was given all the facilities and they made my life very comfortable during my stay
During this one year period I could travel very important and very famous cities in China such as Xi’an, Luoyang, Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhuo, Shanghai and Beijing.
So friends, through the series of videos in my channel, I want to share my travelling experience and how I felt this wonderful country and people.
China, or “Zhonghua” is the largest of all Asian countries and has the largest population of any country in the world. Occupying nearly the entire East Asian landmass, it covers approximately one-fourteenth of the land area of Earth. Among the major countries of the world, China is surpassed in area by only Russia and Canada, and it is almost as large as the whole of Europe.
Beijing is the capital of the China and the cultural, economic, and communications centre of the country. Shanghai is the main industrial city and Xi’an is one of the historical city in China.
Within China’s boundaries exists a highly diverse and complex country. Its topography encompasses the highest and one of the lowest places on Earth and its relief varies from nearly impenetrable mountainous terrain to vast coastal lowlands. Its climate ranges from extremely dry, desert like conditions in the northwest to tropical monsoon in the southeast, and China has the greatest contrast in temperature between its northern and southern borders of any country in the world.
Probably the single most identifiable characteristic of China to the people of the rest of the world is the size of its population. Some one-fifth of humanity is of Chinese nationality. The great majority of the population is Chinese (Han), and thus China is often characterized as an ethnically homogeneous country, but few countries have as wide a variety of indigenous peoples as does China. Even among the Han there are cultural and linguistic differences between regions; for example, the only point of linguistic commonality between two individuals from different parts of China may be the written Chinese language. Because China’s population is so enormous, the population density of the country is also often thought to be uniformly high, but vast areas of China are either uninhabited or sparsely populated.
With more than 4,000 years of recorded history, China is one of the few existing countries that also flourished economically and culturally in the earliest stages of world civilization. Much of China’s cultural development has been accomplished with relatively little outside influence, the introduction of Buddhism from India constituting a major exception.
During my stay, I was so lucky to visit some of the very famous and attractive location in China such as the Great Wall, Terra Cotta Army, Longman Grottos, Furong Garden, Pagoda squire, Xi’an City wall, White horse temple and Shaolin Temple etc. Also I got my first winter experience during my stay in China.
So friends, join with me to share my travelling experience and how I felt this wonderful country, its culture, people and food etc.
Please subscribe my channel and share these videos among your friends who love China and love for travelling around the world.
I would like to give my special gratitude for the Government of China for giving me this free training and all the required facilities for successfully completion of the training. Also facilitating to travel around the China for totally free of charge.
Thank you China…. “Xie Xie Zhonghua”

【4K】The 3,000-year-old Luoyang Old Street full of various delicacies (CC subtitles)
Video shooting time: April 12, 2023
Luoyang Old Street, also known as Laoji, starts from Lijing Gate in the west and ends at the Drum Tower in the east, with Shizi Street in the center. Here you can experience the current prosperous scene of old Luoyang, and you can eat all kinds of local delicacies in Luoyang. This is almost a food paradise in Luoyang. The old street culture was formed in Jin Zhongjing (1214), and it was built on the former site of Dongcheng, the eastern capital of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. It has a history of more than 3,000 years. This is the epitome of Luoyang's urban history and culture. In addition to Lijingmen, Drum Tower, Octagonal Tower, and Wenbi Peak, which stand on the streets, the shops in East Street and West Street also retain traditional storefronts.
