We sure did, on our first trips to Tibet! We did get altitude sickness, and we felt pretty crappy.

On Yolanda's last trip, a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash that she made with Meg Moser, they focused on reducing their chances of getting altitude sickness.

Karnasuvarna an ancient city, located in the present day Berhampore CD block in the Berhampore subdivision of Murshidabad District, West Bengal, The ruins of Karnasuvarna have been located at Kansona in the present Murshidabad district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is 9.6 kilometres (6.0 mi) south-west of Berhampore, headquarters of Murshidabad district. Karnasuvarna was the capital of King Shashanka.
Shashanka overthrew him in late 6th century CE and became the first king of independent Gauda. The Later Guptas however continued to rule from Malwa and other remaining areas.
The historical-geographical region of Karna Suvarna is now Murshidabad, which was then called rakta mrittika, the land of red soil. In Chinese language Rakta Mrittika meaning was - Chi Tu (other alternative spellings include Chihtu, Chitu or Ch-ih-t'u; Sanskrit: Raktamaritika or Raktamrittika; Chinese: 赤土国; pinyin: Chì-tǔ-guó; lit. Cât costă să ajungi la templele Angkor Wat, Cambodgia? (viză, cazare, masă, transport, bilete)
Angkor Wat este un complex de temple, construite iniţial ca temple hindu, dar transformate după sec. XII în temple budiste. Este cel mai mare monument religios din lumea actuală, acoperind o suprafaţă de 162 hectare (1 626 000 m2). Acest complex se află la cca. 6 km nord de oraşul Siem Reap.
Noi am închiriat biciclete MTB cu 4$/zi (poţi găsi şi biciclete de oraş cu 2$/zi, dar sunt foarte inconfortabile) şi am explorat 7 temple de la 6 dimineaţa până la 5 după-amiaza, pedalând cel puţin 48 km la care se adaugă şi mersul pe jos in jurul templelor.
Dacă vrei să vizitezi aceste temple într-o manieră independentă şi cu buget redus (având în vedere că biletele sunt destul de costisitoare), recomandăm închiriatul bicicletelor şi informarea, în prealabil, despre istoria acestora.
Dacă, însă, sunteţi fascinaţi de acest subiect şi vreţi să aflaţi cât mai multe detalii despre istoria locului, recomandăm să vă închiriaţi un ghid (deşi o să vă pierdeţi libertatea de mişcare şi o să cheltuiţi mai mult, fiind probabil nevoie să luaţi bilet pentru mai multe zile).
Am stat la The Siem Reap Chilled Backpacker cu 2$/pers pe noapte şi chiar vă recomandăm acest hostel, este aproape de centrul oraşului, are piscină şi întâlneşti backpackeri din toată lumea cu care poţi sta la taclale:

Chitwan National Park is the first national park in Nepal. It was established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. It covers an area of 952.63 km2 (367.81 sq mi) and is located in the subtropical Inner Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal in the districts of Nawalpur, Parsa, Chitwan and Makwanpur. In altitude it ranges from about 100 m (330 ft) in the river valleys to 815 m (2,674 ft) in the Churia Hills. In the north and west of the protected area the Narayani-Rapti river system forms a natural boundary to human settlements. Adjacent to the east of Chitwan National Park is Parsa National Park, contiguous in the south is the Indian Tiger Reserve Valmiki National Park. The coherent protected area of 2,075 km2 (801 sq mi) represents the Tiger Conservation Unit (TCU) Chitwan-Parsa-Valmiki, which covers a 3,549 km2 (1,370 sq mi) huge block of alluvial grasslands and subtropical moist deciduous forests.

Poveşti din America de Sud | Primele zile din Columbia (1)
Vă povestim aventurile noastre din călătoria în America de Sud, din februarie-aprilie 2019, în care am făcut 18.000 km cu autostopul, din Columbia pâna în sudul Argentinei (Patagonia), vizitând 6 ţări (Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina), dormind în cort, la localnici acasă şi uneori la hotel.
