Changde, known as Wuling and Langzhou in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province. Located in the north of Hunan, west of Dongting Lake in the south of the Yangtze River, and at the foot of Wuling Mountain, it is historically known as the throat of Sichuan and Guizhou, the gateway to Yunnan and Guizhou. Located in the northwest of Hunan Province, Changde is a famous land of fish and rice in the south of the Yangtze River. Changde belongs to the center of the rise of the central part of China's economy. It is located at the junction of the Pan-Pearl River Delta and the Pan-Yangtze River Delta economic development region. Changde City has formed leading industries such as tobacco, aluminum, electric power, food, paper, textile, machinery, building materials, medicine, and electronics, and has built 11 county-level industrial parks including Changde Economic and Technological Development Zone and Jin Industrial Park.
