Most BEAUTIFUL Places in North America
For many watching this video, these places will be a stone’s throw away for you, but for others who are longing to do a spot of traveling, here are 22 reasons to hop on a plane right now! We soak in some of the most beautiful places in North America, so pack your bags and let’s go on an adventure…
Subscribe to Talltanic
9 - Stairway to heaven…
That’s the alternative name given to the Haiku Stairs of Oahu, Hawaii. At this point in time the stairway to heaven is closed to the public. Some people have chosen to ignore that though, and still make their way to the top. There are close to 4,000 stairs taking you to the top and put aside about 3-4 hours to get up and around 1-2 hours to come down. Perhaps we can make an exception just this one and bend the rules a little? It does seem worth the risk.
8 - Fill her up…
Because you and your vehicle are heading to Moraine Lake, Canada. The lake that has everyone heading to this area is found in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, and it’s elevated at around 6,200-feet! The water in Moraine Lake is a gorgeous blue, and almost stealing its thunder are the beautiful surrounding mountains and their snowy peaks.
7 - Man-made beauty…
So far, we’ve only touched on places that are natural, but there are a plethora of options of other beautiful places to visit, ones steeped in history with phenomenal tales that go with it. This is the Arlington Green Covered Bridge located just off Vermont Route 313. This bridge was built in1852 making it one of Vermont’s oldest surviving bridges. Makes you wonder who has traveled over that bridge over all these years. It’s 80-feet long with its width measuring 17.5-feet. What makes it most unusual is that nothing has been added to the bridge in recent years to strengthen it. It suffered some damage during Hurricane Irene, which was repaired and then reopened to the public.
6 - Book a one-way ticket…
Georgia is an amazing place to visit with the family, and particularly Savannah – the oldest city in Georgia. This beautiful city began in 1733 and was the first state capital of Georgia. Today the city serves as an industrial center and Atlantic seaport. Millions of visitors descend on this city every year and walk through the cobblestone streets and visit the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low. She founded Girl Scouts USA. One of the highlights is a tour of the Bonaventure Cemetery. There are beautiful sculptures, monuments and out of the world burial vaults, mix those up with moss-draped oak trees and a view of the nearby river, and you have quite the romantic yet eerie destination.
5 - Requires a little planning…
If you’re into your hiking, then this is probably on your must-hike list! The Wave is one of America’s most beautiful rock formations, and it’s located in Arizona. It’s close to the Horseshoe Bend we mentioned earlier. Only 20 people are allowed to hike on these beautiful mountains every day, and it’s done in a lucky draw type of way, although some stories suggest you can book – so maybe that’s changed. If you’re lucky enough to make the cut, share your photographs with the unlucky ones who didn’t get that once in a lifetime opportunity!
4 - Travel Lightly…
There won’t be too much space if you’re trekking through the Louisiana Atchafalaya Basin Swamp at Henderson. It’s the largest river swamp in the US and is made up of 1 million acres of hardwoods, swamps and lakes. Also known as America’s Wetland, the are is 150-miles long and 20-miles wide. Interesting to note – the basin is home to 65 species of reptiles and amphibians, plus 250 species of bird – that we know of, a huge variety of animals and the largest nesting concentration of bald eagles in the south US. 22 million-pounds of crayfish make their way from the basin to our plates every year!
3 - Take the scenic route…
Although not a specific place, it’s the view that the Beartooth highway affords the lucky traveler that is breath-taking. It’s a section of Route 212 in Montana and Wyoming connecting Red Lodge and the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park. You’ll reach levels of 10,947-feet above sea level, and it’s been described as “the most beautiful drive in America.”
2 - The hills are alive…
Palouse hills northeast of Walla Walla are 4,000 square miles of gorgeous rolling asymmetrical hills that connect the north of Lewiston to the end of Lake Coeur d’Alene. You would assume that rivers and streams would have created this beautiful landscape, but it is actually the result of prehistoric dust storms. One plausible theory suggests that the dust particles got trapped when they connected with the wetter grasslands. It’s also suggested that it would have taken 25,000-years to create this hilly landscape, judging from today’s wind speed. Dust storms are still extreme at Palouse, and they can reduce visibility and change the shade of the sun dramatically.

20 Most Amazing Architecture in China
From Beijing National Aquatics Center to Shanghai World Financial Center here are 20 Most Amazing Architecture in China!
Subscribe to Talltanic
# 10 Shanghai World Financial Center
The Shanghai World Financial Center is one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world and easily the tallest building in Shanghai. It is distinguished by its unique shape, 101 stories and 1,621 feet/494.3 meters tall. It is a mixed space that has a ground level mall, hotels, office spaces, and observational decks.
# 9 Beijing National Stadium
The Beijing National Stadium was built in 2008 for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It’s also known as the Bird’s Nest because of the lattice structure that covers the whole structure. It has a capacity of 91,000 total and had a record attendance of nearly just as many people. Currently, it does not have much use.
# 8 Beijing National Aquatics Center
The Beijing National Aquatics Center was another structure built for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Although it’s not actually in the shape of a cube, it is colloquially known as the Water Cube. During the Olympics swimmers broke 25 world records but after the Olympics ended officials struggled to find a use for the building. Now, after a 200 million Yuan (you-en) revamp it has turned into an indoor Water Park. It is also slated to host curling events at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
# 7 The Lotus Building
In Wujin, China is the Lotus Building, a building that looks like a floating, lit lotus flower floating on a pool of water. It was built by the Australian architecture firm Studio 505 and obviously modeled after the iconic lotus flower. It is a flashy building that serves as the building for the city planning bureau - a major upgrade for a bureaucratic government committee.
# 6 Ring of Life
The Ring of Life is a super clean structure in Fushun, China and stands at 515 feet tall. It is a giant steel structure in the shape of a giant shape. It has an observation deck, and it is lit up by 12,000 LED lights. The strange thing is that it is built out in the middle of nowhere as a way to attract a tourist industry to the area. It used around 3,000 tons of steel and cost around $16 million US dollars.
# 5 New Century Global Center
The New Century Global Center is known as the biggest building by volume in the world. It is famous for the fact that 20 of the Sydney Opera House could fit inside of it. Inside of this center in Chengdu is an amazing amount of facilities like an entire University Complex, one of the biggest shopping centers in the world, an entire IMAX theater, and a faux Mediterranean village.
# 4 Phoenix International Media Center
This building is the home for Phoenix Satellite Television and is officially called the Phoenix International Media Center but is colloquially known as the Little Bird’s Nest. It is reportedly modeled after a Mobius strip which is why it has a round shape and continuous surface. It has office space and recording studios for everything in the production pipeline of Phoenix TV which is a Hong Kong broadcasting firm that distributes to mainland China. It is not only stylish but takes green practices into account, and the surfaces of the building collect rainwater to be recycled.
# 3 Zoho Peaks
The Zoho Peaks in Beijing were designed to look like a cluster of mountains, and they certainly live up to their namesake. They are a mixed space building utilized as both a retail space and office complex, but primarily it decorates the Beijing skyline with a unique looking building.
# 2 Coiling Dragon Cliff
This skin-tingling glass walk is the Coiling Dragon skywalk is installed 984 feet up on the Tianmen (chee-ann-min) Mountain in one of China’s national parks. It is a 100 meter or 110-yard long walk on an almost completely transparent glass structure. Parts of the skywalk overlook the popular Tongtian Avenue, a mountain path that has 99 turns and snakes into the Tianmen mountain. The walkway is more than stable, but you can see tourists clinging to the cliff afraid of falling while the bolder of heart sit directly on the glass overlooking the deathly fall.
# 1 Linked Hybrid
This building from Steven Holl Architecture firm has been called a city within a city because of the plethora of different facilities that use the space inside. The Linked Hybrid has been named the best tall building of Australia and Asia because it comes with office space, education facilities, even a jazz club. The building itself consists of eight different towers that are linked together by sky bridges. It’s a compound that seeks to streamline city life by minimizing the amount of time people have to commute every day.

Travel Vlog 4K
The largest island in Greece. Crete is a feast for the senses: wild natural beauty and thousands of years of culture, history and exquisite cuisine. Find out about the top things to do in Crete.
There’s something undeniably artistic in the way the Cretan landscape unfolds, from the sun-drenched beaches in the north to the rugged canyons spilling out at the cove-carved and cliff-lined southern coast. In between, valleys cradle moody villages, and round-shouldered hills are the overture to often snow-dabbed mountains. Take it all in on a driving tour, trek through Europe’s longest gorge, hike to the cave where Zeus was born or cycle among orchards on the Lasithi Plateau. Leave time to plant your footprints on a sandy beach, and boat, kayak or snorkel in the crystalline waters.
Rich Historical Tapestry
Crete’s natural beauty is equalled only by the richness of its history. The island is the birthplace of the first advanced society on European soil, the Minoans, who ruled some 4000 years ago, and you’ll find evocative vestiges all over, including the famous Palace of Knossos. At the crossroads of three continents, Crete has been coveted and occupied by consecutive invaders. History imbues Hania and Rethymno, where labyrinthine lanes – laid out by the Venetians – are lorded over by mighty fortresses, and where gorgeously restored Renaissance mansions rub rafters with mosques and Turkish bathhouses. The Byzantine influence stands in magnificent frescoed chapels, churches and monasteries.
If you’re a foodie, you will be in heaven in Crete, where ‘locavore’ is not a trend but a way of life. Rural tavernas often produce their own meat, cheese, olive oil, raki and wine, and catch their own seafood. Follow a gourmet trail across the landscape and you’ll delight in distinctive herbs and greens gathered from each hillside, cheeses made fresh with unique village- or household-specific recipes, and honey flavoured by mountain herbs. The Cretan diet is among the healthiest in the world. Pair your meal with excellent local wine, and cap it off with a fiery shot of raki.
Crete’s spirited people champion their unique culture and customs, and time-honoured traditions remain a dynamic part of the island’s soul. Look for musicians striking up a free-form jam on local instruments, like the stringed lyra, or wedding celebrants weaving their time-honoured traditional regional dances. Meeting regular folk gossiping in kafeneia (coffee houses), preparing their Easter feast, tending to their sheep or celebrating during the island’s many festivals is what makes a visit to Crete so special.
The most popular destinations in Crete
1. Chania: The old town of Chania with its world-renowned Venetian lighthouse, the aristocratic suburb of Halepa, the Tabakaria (centre for leather production), the Neoria (arsenal) and Kum Kapi, teeming with bars, cafes, restaurants and elegant hotels.
2. Rethymno: Discover the old town of Rethymno, a gem of a settlement on the island, with its Venetian buildings, mosques, minarets, fountains and cobblestone alleys lined with shops, cafes, bars and hotels. Explore Idaio Antro – one of the most important caves of Minoan worship.
3. Heraklion: The Venetian port of Heraklion, a lively city filled with sights, museums, restaurants, bars and hotels. Walk along the walls of the old city, and Morosini (Leondaria) Square, surrounded by important buildings; the Loggia (City Hall), Agios Titos and Armeria (armory).
4. Ierapetra: The old town with its narrow alleyways, little harbour and famous Fortress of Kales is one of the most significant sights in Crete.
5. Agios Nikolaos: A cosmopolitan summer resort, with the mystical allure of Lake Vouliagmeni (which, legend has it, is bottomless), with numerous cafes and restaurants dotted around its shores.
6. Sitia: The historic Kazarma fortress (Casa di arma) and its animated waterfront, lined with cafes, shops and restaurants, should be on your list of destinations to visit in Crete.
7. Elounda: A cosmopolitan paradise of sophisticated resorts and hotels, with private beaches, pools and piers. It has the highest concentration of Greece’s five-star resorts and is the top destination for a luxurious holiday.
8. Lassithi: Visit the palm forest at Vai but make sure you also find time for the caves of Diktean Antro and Milatos, the island fortress of Spinalonga and the Lassithi Plateau.
9. Mount Ida (Psiloritis): The highest mountain in Crete. Ambitious hikers will climb to the top and be rewarded with an unforgettable view.

MEXICO City EARTHQUAKE | ONE YEAR ON | PASEO DE LA REFORMA | 19th September Earthquake DRILL
Mexico City was struck by a large earthquake on September 19th 2017. Today is one year since that day. In this video I head to Paseo de Reforma in the downtown area of CDMX to witness an earthquake drill, designed to help prepare citizens for future earthquakes.
I was astounded at the level of organisation which is a credit to Mexico City and really puts them ahead of other areas of the world in terms of disaster preperation.
I also once again hang out at El Angel de la Independencia, check out a street exhibition of photographs highlighting the recovery effort after the earthquake and walk all the way down Reforma to Hidalgo!
Thankyou Mexico City - another fantastic example of strength and community spirit after an event I could only imagine.

AMAZING Greek Food Tour and Top Things To Do in Athens, Greece!
Check out this amazing Greek food and attractions in Athens, Greece!
Today was an amazing day of traveling in Athens, Greece. We ate some incredibly delicious Greek food and saw some of the most famous attractions, including the Acropolis (Parthenon) in Athens.
Here’s what you’ll find in this video:
Diporto Restaurant - This is an amazing hidden gem of a restaurant serving traditional Greek food in a downstairs basement tavern. They only have a few dishes per day, and you order whatever they have - everything is delicious.
Total price - 25 EUR for everything
Souvlaki Lefteris o Politis - This is another famous souvlaki, Greek street food, hole in the wall that I was excited to try because they are known for their spicy souvlaki. It was awesomely delicious and something you shouldn't miss if you love Greek food.
Price - 1.90 EUR per piece
Plaka Neighborhood - In the afternoon, I walked around the Plaka Neighborhood for a while and also saw the National Garden.
Panathenaic Stadium - In order to fulfill my inner Olympian, I entered into the Panathenaic Stadium, walked around this amazing marble stadium, and took a victory lap. It was awesome, it’s a must see when you’re in Athens.

Dio Dekares i Oka Restaurant - We had an early Greek food dinner at Dio Dekares i Oka Restaurant that serves home-style Greek food. The lamb with dill and celery was the highlight dish for me.
Total price - 33 EUR for everything
Acropolis of Athens - There’s no doubt that the Acropolis of Athens, which includes the Parthenon is the most famous attraction to see in Athens. It was at the center of Athens and the center of Western civilization at its peak. It’s an amazing sight to see, even though it’s high damaged. But it’s truly breathtaking to admire the columns.
