NEW CALEDONIA, the beautiful MOSELLE MARKET in NOUMEA (PACIFIC OCEAN)

SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit Moselle Market which is New Caledonia’s biggest market, it’s easy to spot the gay blue-tiled roofs of the five hexagonal pavilions.A popular local institution since its inauguration in 1991, the market is the “go-to” place for fresh produce for locals, and a key attraction for tourists and cruise passengers. Three of the five pavilions are set aside for fresh produce, mostly locally grown. Piles of pineapples, bananas, dragon fruit, passion fruit and other exotics jostle yams, taros, sweet potatoes, plantain bananas and choko, depending on the season. And there are plenty of delicious specialities to tempt you: honey, preserves, fruit or vegetable pickles, pastries, spices and more.

Travel to : New Caledonia !!!

Best places to visit on New Caledonia island !!!

A Day In Noumea New Caledonia. Not What We Expected

On a recent cruise we stopped in Noumea New Caledonia for the first time.

What a different day. As with all ports we did very little investigating before we arrived. Instead preferring to arrive without any preconceived ideas.

This is the only port we have ever felt uneasy in when walking around. Since getting back and talking to other passengers we have heard Noumea referred to as the sewer of the Pacific by several people. We wouldn't go that far but next time we will probably stay on the ship.

You can decide for yourself.

The beautiful BEACHES of NOUMEA (NEW CALEDONIA, PACIFIC OCEAN)

SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the beautiful city of Nouméa which is a city geared towards the lagoon. This New Caledonian capital (French Territory in the Pacific Ocean) being one of the most liveable cities. Indulge yourself with a day at the beach, between Anse Vata and the Baie des Citrons (Lemon Bay). On the seafront, you can enjoy all water sports in one day.
Anse Vata is the windiest beach in Nouméa. It is not uncommon to come across Caledonian windsurfers making elegant trips in windsurf. You can also try this out by taking a class on the beach. If you don’t want as much action then kayak or paddle boarding is for you. Several providers on the beach offer introductory courses and the equipment.
Baie des Citrons - Do not look for lemons or Lemon trees, you won't find any! This quieter cove is an ideal spot for afternoon sunbathing, peeping, and for small dips in the water. The city has installed rafts on the water, to relax even more freely. Take flippers, mask and snorkel to admire the seabed on either side of the beach.

Top 10 : Most Beautiful Places in New Zealand

New Zealand is an island nation in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses—that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu—and numerous smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long period of isolation, New Zealand developed a distinctive biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.

NOUMEA, stunning KUENDU BEACH and bungalows on stilts (NEW CALEDONIA)

SUBSCRIBE: - Here are beautiful scenes and views of this easy to get to beach, located just outside Noumea, the capital of New Caledonia in the Pacific Ocean. The views of the bungalows on stilts are just spectacular. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Nouméa is the capital city of the French special collectivity of New Caledonia. It is situated on a peninsula in the south of New Caledonia's main island, Grande Terre, and is home to the majority of the island's European, Polynesian (Wallisians, Futunians, Tahitians), Indonesian, andVietnamese populations, as well as many Melanesians, Ni-Vanuatu and Kanaks that work in one of the South Pacific's most industrialised cities.

Noumea - The french atmosphere

French Immersion
A palm-tree lined Pacific island with French sophisticated culture seems almost too good to be true - this is what makes New Caledonia so fascinating and unique.

New Caledonia has extensive dining options where you can enjoy and savour delectable French cooking, beautiful wines and champagnes and many patisseries selling mouth-watering macarons, éclairs and chocolates.

Once you've had your fill of fine French foods, enjoy browsing the many boutiques in Noumea's town centre. With brands such as Hermés, Chanel and L'Occitane you will feel as though you are shopping in Paris.

Explore Ouvea Atoll, New Caledonia

Ouvea Atoll is one of our favourite destinations in the South Pacific. The main beach on the lagoon side must be one of the top 3 beaches in the world. Having travelled extensively in the Pacific region this beach of outstanding beauty will always be our top beach destination. And best of all, only a handful of place to stay.

Top 10 Best Attractions in the South Pacific

Top 10 Best Attractions in the South Pacific according to Lonely Planet.

10. Vanuatu's Volcanoes
Vanuatu is not on the average traveller's destination wish list. Head to the island of Tanna to see Mount Yasur, the world's most accessible active volcano. A tourist favourite, Tanna is also home to waterfalls and men in penis sheaths and grass skirts. If you get the chance, stay to witness one of their ancient festivals or rituals.

9. New Caledonian Coasts
New Caledonia is a collectivity of France with a particular status, it has its own laws and its own government. New Caledonia offers beaches, mountaintop fondue in chalets, camping, amazing snorkeling and diving, and fabulous French food.

8. Indo-Fijian Culture
Fabulous festivals and food provide visitors with a peek into Indo-Fijian culture. Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated nationwide in October or November. It's ushered in with nightly displays, from multicoloured spotlit extravaganzas to delicate candlelit driveways and households.

7. Tahitian Dance & Tattoos
Tahitians love to dance. The best dance performances in the country take place at the annual Heiva Festival, which is held in Pape'ete in July. During the rest of the year, professional groups offer performances at the big resorts. Tattooing, another strong cultural trait, has enjoyed a revival since the early 1980s. For many people, it's a symbol of identity.

6. Diving
The South Pacific offers world-class diving, with an irresistible menu of underwater treasures: luscious reefs festooned with huge sea fans, warm waters teeming with rainbow-coloured species and bizarre critters, eerie drop-offs that tumble into the abyss, and lots of pelagics, including sharks and manta rays -- not to mention the thrill of diving uncrowded sites.

5. Easter Island's Moai
Easter Island is one of the most isolated islands on Earth. Officially a territory of Chile, it lies far off in the Pacific Ocean, roughly halfway to Tahiti. Known as one of the world's sacred sites, it is most famous for its enigmatic giant stone statues or Moai whose oversized heads, carved centuries ago, reflect the history of the dramatic rise and fall of the most isolated Polynesian culture.

4. Inland Treks
Most people travel to the South Pacific for the beaches but no one should go this far without heading inland. Imagine arriving to the tip of a knife-edged peak to watch seabirds fly by at eye level, plunging into massive waterfall pools, or finding petroglyphs hidden by hibiscus next to a rushing river. And these are everyday examples.

3. Whales in Tonga
Tonga is an important breeding ground for humpback whales, which migrate to its warm waters between June and October; it's one of the few places in the world where you can swim with these magnificent creatures. They can be seen raising their young in the calm reef-protected waters and engaging in elaborate mating rituals.

2. Island Welcomes
A garland of flowers is one of the most simple yet beautiful offerings on the planet and no one gives out more of these than the people of the Pacific. Loudness and brashness are out, subtle hospitality and genuine goodwill are in. If they could give you the moon they would, so please don't ask for it.

1. Diverse Paradise
Any of these countries could be that place on a 'Travel to Paradise' poster that makes you want to leave your job and live in flip flops forever. But the South Pacific isn't just a homogenised string of palm trees and blue water. The cultures and landscapes that spread across the Pacific Ocean's vastness hold an incredible diversity, from rugged atolls to mangrove-encircled high islands and from Euro-chic capitals to traditional tribes in jungles. Each island group is home to its own sort of wonderful.
