SECRET NORTH KOREA | YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT IT'S LIKE

I'm just back from North Korea - this is what it's like. Imagine living like you were on a movie set. Welcome to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. Imagine having to wake up everyday of your life and perform like you are on a movie set and if you don't - it could mean death?

This is real life North Korea today. I travelled to North Korea and filmed this so you can see what it's like.

Some of this footage is secretly filmed.

You'll get an idea of what it is like to travel to the most isolated country in the world. Visiting many places, including the capital Pyongyang and the poor countryside.

Please do not judge the North Korean people in this video. It is impossible to make a fully balanced view of the country by traveling there - on a controlled guided tour. This video is simply presented to give you an indication of my travel experience and my thoughts after returning.

North Korea is a unique, if not slightly weird experience. It was safer than many countries I've visited. Hopefully, this will give you another perspective on the DPRK.

Thanks for watching.

North Korea FACTS: 5 things YOU CAN'T DO or must do

5 unusual rules that a tourist strictly has to follow if going to North Korea. Based on my own experience on my trip in April 2017. How does NK look like from the other side? I will show the contrast with the Chinese bordering city at the end of the video. DON'T MISS IT!

I entered the country with a Spanish passport (note: US passports are not allowed). I was a bit nervous the days previous to the trip, but I haven't felt either fear or danger inside North Korea. There's no danger for a tourist if one complies with all the rules (as it is stated in the Travel Agreements).
There had only been tense feelings at the Mausoleum. Nervousness for the possibility of doing a mistake by accident, and not complying with the strict rules properly.

Here’s a recap of the 105th Anniversary trip:

RESOURCES
· The last update on South and North Korea agreements (as of Dec. 2021)
· Kumsunsan Palace of the Sun comprehensive photo album (all Mauloleum pictures in the video are not mine)

· Books that arose my curiosity before going to the DPRK:
- Nothing to Envy: Real lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick:
- The Girl with Seven Names: Escape from North Korea by Hyenseo Lee:
- Without You, There Is No Us: My secret life teaching the sons of North Korea’s elite by Suki Kim:
- In Order To Live: A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom by Yeonmi Park:

SHOCKING Reasons You Should NEVER Visit North Korea!

SHOCKING Reasons You Should NEVER Visit North Korea!

Welcome back to Around The Globe, today on the channel we are revealing Why You Should Never Visit North Korea. North Korea requires that you join a government-sanctioned tour, where you will be accompanied by a guide at all times. These tours are heavily monitored, and you will not be permitted to wander off and explore sites on your own. All of your interactions with civilians, if any, will always be shadowed by your guide. Going against the established rules in a tour can put you and your guide’s life in grave danger. If you are caught doing something illegal, your guide may be accused of being a co-conspirator by “helping” you spy on the country. For this act of treason, he or she will be imprisoned. Therefore, if you find the restriction of movement in a pre-planned tour suffocating or troublesome, you may want to visit another destination instead of North Korea.

In North Korea you can not speak about any religious beliefs or demonstrate your faith by handing out religious materials to anyone in the DPRK. Christianity, for example, is prohibited to the point where being caught with a Bible means that you will face imprisonment, torture, or execution. By contrast, past and current leaders are elevated to godlike status in North Korea. Please continue watching the video for more information Why You Should Never Visit North Korea.

3 Things You CAN'T DO in NORTH KOREA ????????

What Will Happen To YOU If You Visit North Korea?

Analysts have found pictures of 27 public executions during the reign of Kim Jong-un, including his uncle Jang Song-taek and the shooting from anti-aircraft guns of Defense Minister Hyun Yong-chol, whose fault was that he fell asleep in the presence of the supreme leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, and also did not follow the order of the leader. A mysterious state closed from travelers - this is exactly what North Korea seems to many. In the past few years, North Korea has been actively trying to attract tourists, where about 250 thousand tourists come annually, but what do they come to see and What Will Happen To YOU If You Visit North Korea?

Taking a glimpse inside NORTH KOREA ???????? (surreal experience)

North Korea is one of the most closed countries on Earth for travel. After 3 years of complete isolation following the pandemic, it is still closed to this day. So, intrigued and hoping to get a glimpse of this fascinating nation, we travelled north from Seoul to the DMZ, the highly contentious border between North and South Korea, to learn more about life in both Korea's and how the two sides fell in to conflict in the first place and how it affects the daily lives of millions of Koreans on both sides to this day. We even managed to take a peek across the border, in to North Korea towards Pyongyang, over the town of Kaesong.

This was the single scariest travel moment of my life - on the border of North Korea & Russia. Sitting in that military compound for 3 hours, alone, without my phone or my friends was absolutely terrifying.

As many of you already know, I am fascinated by North Korea. I spent 4 days in Pyongyang in 2017 and I can even speak the Korean language (I lived in South Korea for 2 years). Not a day goes by where I don’t ponder about life in North Korea - the strangest and most isolated country in the world.

But Americans have been banned to visit North Korea since 2017 - a few months after I left. In fact, I think that I’m one of the last few Americans to step foot in the country.

So I wanted to attempt to go back while traveling in Siberia. And what happened to me is something that I’ve never experienced and I’ll never forget.

This is the full story of how I got detained on the North Korea / Russia border. The journey starts in the far Eastern city of Vladivostok.

Thank you so much to my local friend Natasha for joining me on this wild adventure. Follow her YouTube videos to learn more about Eastern Russia!

PS - This video was shot 4 weeks before Russia invaded Ukraine. I do NOT support this unprovoked war, and my thoughts go out to our friends in Ukraine. We love you.

Now I have visited both South Korea and North Korea. 70 years ago, once a single country was divided, and North Korea, together with the Soviet Union, began to build socialism, and the South Korea, together with the Americans and the West in general - capitalism. And neither of those Koreans were asked much. It happened historically. Let's see, what happened in the end.

North Korean Propaganda Video Featuring the Okryu Children's Hospital

This is a Propaganda Video produced by the North Korean government, featuring the Okryu Children's Hospital

You Wouldn't Believe These Things You CAN DO In North Korea (2022)

Sick of clickbaity titles that sensationalize all the *crazy* things you can't do in North Korea... (a lot of which are just not true anyway, doing a video in a few weeks about the top myths on North Korea...), I decided to put together this little video on things you surprisingly CAN do in North Korea.

They're not particularly crazy things. In fact, they're pretty normal things. They're a collection of things sourced from my own knowledge, the internet, and you guys on Instagram. But for one reason or another, a lot of people think they're things you CAN'T do in North Korea... So I'm here to put the record straight.

Also, my camera cut out on the last few bits of filming and also didn't save the ending... Apparently, I didn't film a proper start, either. So I apologize for this. But I think the video still works.

Plus, it's only short. So just sit through it and enjoy. :)
