SUMMARY:
- #1. The construction looms 186 ft above the water’s surface, and they say that when the weather is bad, you can't see the shore from the middle of the bridge. All things combined, it creates an eerie feeling of being suspended in some kind of nerve-racking limbo.
- #2. At 410 ft long, this is the longest curved suspension bridge in the world. The deck of Sky Bridge is 2,170 ft above sea level, among the mountain peaks, and boy, that's a sight to behold!
- #3. This bridge held the title of the world's highest from 1929, when it was completed, till 2001, when Liuguanghe Bridge in China surpassed it by 19 ft.
- #4. The tallest bridge in the world seems to be floating over the river Tarn's gorge valley in southern France. The total length of the bridge is 8,070 ft, and its maximum height is a whopping 1,125 ft above the ground!
- #5. This is one of the longest and oldest teakwood footbridges in the world. Besides, it's probably one of the most photographed as well!
- #6. The world's longest glass bridge, opened in 2017, hangs over a picturesque canyon in the Hebei province of China. About 1,600 ft long and more than 700 ft high, the bridge is paved with 1,077 glass panels!
- #7. The walkway isn't particularly long, only 200 ft, but the view that is waiting is breathtaking. Everyone using the pathway has to wear special anti-slip shoe covers.
- #8. This is the largest rigid-frame bridge in Japan, even though it looks more like a twisted roller coaster for drivers! The structure has incredibly steep inclines on both sides, and at first sight, you may doubt that a regular car is able to climb the bridge.
- #9. The locals call this construction the drunk bridge. Its length is only 850 ft, but the curve of the bridge that protrudes over the Norwegian Sea plays a funny visual trick on motorists.
-#10. The modern version of the Seven Mile Bridge was completed in 1982, and its construction cost was about $45 million.

- Jaco Island belongs to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. This island looks like the picture of true paradise: lush green trees, crystal blue waters, and white sand. But his place is uninhabitable.

Berlins vergessene Bahnhöfe und das Geheimnis der „Dark“-Brücke
In einem Waldgebiet am Rande von Berlin steht eine alte Brücke. Darunter: verlassene Bahngleise. Fans der Netflix-Serie Dark kennen diese Szene nur zu gut: Genau hier treffen sich Jonas und seine Freunde, um zu den Windener Höhlen zu wandern und schließlich in der Zeit zu reisen. Aber was ist die reale Geschichte hinter diesen Bahngleisen? Warum liegen sie hier, in diesem Wald? Und warum fährt dort heute keine Bahn mehr? Zeit für eine kleine Wanderung entlang Berlins fast vergessener Bahntrasse.

WEGBESCHREIBUNG:
▪️ Startet am S-Bahnhof Wannsee oder am Wanderparkplatz am Stahnsdorfer Damm 12. Hier der Standort in Google Maps:
▪️ Lauft vom Wanderparkplatz am Schießstand der DEVA entlang. Zirka 100 Meter nach der Einzäunung geht ein Wanderweg rechts ab. Lauft diesen bis zum Ende. Dann erreicht ihr automatisch die Trasse der Friedhofsbahn. Hier der genaue Standort:
▪️ Von hier aus habt ihr nun die Möglichkeit, einen Abstecher nach rechts zu machen und einige Relikte im Wald zu entdecken. Falls euch das zu langweilig ist, lauft ihr einfach direkt nach links. Hier stoßt ihr nach einigen hundert Metern auf die Gleisüberreste an der Dark-Brücke (Königsweg). Diese befinden sich hier:
▪️ Direkt hinter den Gleisüberresten war früher die Berliner Mauer bzw. der Todesstreifen. Schaut genau hin und ihr entdeckt noch einige Relikte.
▪️ Jetzt wird es ganz einfach. Lauft einfach weiter geradeaus die alte Trasse entlang. Die Strecke ist kerzengerade, nicht zu übersehen und ihr könnt nirgendwo falsch abbiegen.
▪️ Das nächste Highlight: Der alte S-Bahnhof Dreilinden:
▪️ Dann folgt der Teltowkanal mit der zerstörten Brücke:
▪️ Um über den Kanal zu kommen, müsst ihr die Trasse verlassen und rechts hinter dem Campingplatz herlaufen. Dann immer weiter am Kanal entlang. Hier stoßt ihr auch auf den alten Grenzturm:
▪️ Es folgt folgt die Drewitz-Dreilinden-Brücke mit der Stele zu Hermann Döbler. Hier sind auch die Relikte des Checkpoints sowie die alte Trasse der Superstau-Autobahn zu finden:
▪️ Wenn ihr die Brücke überquert habt, biegt nach rechts ab und dann wieder rechts - dann kommt ihr wieder auf den Kanaluferweg, wo ihr auch die Fotos der alten Grenze findet.
▪️ Danach stoßt ihr wieder auf die zerstörte Friedhofsbahnbrücke. Direkt hinter dieser könnt ihr rechts in einen kleinen Weg einbiegen und landet wieder auf der Friedhofsbahntrasse. Ihr müsst nicht durch den Wald kraxeln wie ich.
▪️ Nun müsst ihr an der Autobahn 115 entlang bis links die Autobahnbrücke kommt. Diese überquert ihr hier:
▪️ Der nun folgende Wanderweg führt euch wieder auf die alte Trasse der Friedhofsbahn. Nun heißt es: Immer weiter geradeaus, bis ihr euer Ziel erreicht: den Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf.

SUMMARY:
- At 1:25 pm, on April 28, 1988, a 19-year-old Boeing 737 that belonged to Aloha Airlines left Hilo International Airport and headed for Honolulu.
- When the plane arrived at this destination, the pilots didn’t leave the cockpit or inspect the aircraft from the outside. After all, it wasn't a requirement, and they didn't have to do it.
- The length of the missing part was 18.5 ft long, and that was the aircraft skin that covered the plane from the cockpit back to the fore-wing area.
- The plane started to roll from side to side, and it was becoming increasingly harder to control. Everybody who was in the cockpit immediately put on their oxygen masks, and the captain took over the aircraft.
- All three flight attendants were standing along the aircraft aisle. The one who was the closest to the front of the plane was swept out through the hole in the roof.
- But the problem was at that time, in case of emergency, the airport control tower had to dial 911 just like anyone else. l
- As the plane was approaching the runway, the left engine failed, and the aircraft started rocking and shaking. The captain made an attempt to restart the engine but didn't succeed.
- Everyone on the plane, except for the flight attendant who had been pulled out of the plane, was alive, although 65 people were injured. Most people had been hurt by flying debris and torn pieces of fuselage.
- During one interview that followed the accident, passenger Gayle Yamamoto remembered that she had spotted a crack in the fuselage when she was boarding. Unfortunately, she was the only one who had seen this damage, and the woman hadn't thought that the crack was important enough to inform the crew.

Ми спробували заглянути в сільський Чорнобиль, у місця, які зазвичай оминає загал та масовий турист, місця, про які мало говорять, місця, котрі з кожним роком все більше зникають.

April 26 marks 35 years since one of the greatest man-made catastrophes of mankind occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. A topic about which a lot has been written, films made and even more has been said. The NPP itself, the Duga radar station, the city of Pripyat and its environs are more in the public discourse and lens of TV cameras.
At the same time, there is very little information, and in some places it is completely absent and forgotten, about the villages and hamlets that existed thousands of years before the NPP and lived at a leisurely pace in these swamps and forests.
At the end of March 2021, the HASCHI team together and thanks to the tour operator GAMMA TRAVEL made a two-day expedition to the exclusion zone. We tried to look at rural Chernobyl, places that are usually bypassed by the general and mass tourists, places that are little talked about, places that are disappearing more and more every year.
