Help, cabin fever! Looking for quietness in The Netherlands we end up at a studio next to Vuurtoren Westhoofd, on Goeree-Overflakkee, one of the islands of Zuid-Holland. Only the sound of birds, and the sound of the sea. Of course I go for a bicycle ride as well.

We are no longer as sedentary as before, but where do we find our safe nest? In the past it was clear: where you were born there lied your future. This sedentary life is still celebrated in some regions and villages, but more and more we spread our wings during our lives. We used to let ourselves be guided by our birthplace, today we are looking for like-minded people. In golf resorts, residents hit the little balls together with other residents in their backyard. But our blood doesn’t lie and our roots call us eventually back. The regional football club also has the desire for its own nest. 'Us Against The Rest of the World' appears to be a basic need that constantly takes on new shapes.
The Netherlands from above shows us a country from a spectacular perspective. From the sky it is possible to see how the Netherlands changes through the seasons, and how in parallel they form the determining moments of our own life cycle. Through data visuals, impressive aerial images and portraits of people on the ground, the second series of the Netherlands from above outlines an image of how time has changed our country and how we move in it. The way we live from day to day, and from generation to generation in this country reflects our resilient mentality. The Netherlands from above season 2 tells us the story of seeing and taking opportunities, falling and rising up again, reinventing the wheel again and again. Where the first series was an ode to the makeable Netherlands, this second series is an ode to our resilience.

Our family trip to Holland, we stayed with friends in Amsterdam and then set out on a short cycle tour of the area nearby, returning to Amsterdam for the last two nights.

TIENDE etappe PIETERPAD, van OMMEN naar HELLENDOORN, Lemelerberg (INCLUSIEF DRONE-BEELDEN)
De 10e etappe van het Pieterpad start bij station Ommen en gaat al sel de bossen van de Sallandse Heuvelrug in, de Besthemerberg op met de uitkijktoren. Na oversteek van de Regge volgt het Lemelerberg-natuurgebied met de beklimming van de Archemerberg (78 meter hoogte). Na Lemele te schampen nog de Eelerberg op en af en zo de dorpje Hellendoorn in naar de kerk waar de etappe eindigt.

For centuries The Netherlands has been famous for its windmills. They were (and some still are) used to grind grain, saw wood or to pump water out the many polders. This interesting A.I. restored and colorized film consists of five fragments, showing:
- A windmill being prepared for duty in 1928
- Three windmills in the Driemanspolder near Leidschendam in 1938
- A poldermolen in the town of Noordwijkerhout in 1939
- A windmill near Amsterdam, bound to be replaced by a coal-fired power station.
- Many windmills at dusk, filmed in the Schermer polder in 1928.
Currently 11 of these windmills still exist.
An interesting fact about windmills is that the position of the wings while the windmill is in rest shows six specific events like: happy or sad events that affect the miller as well as a short, long or fast re-start or a festive position.
The original B&W films have been motion-stabilized, speed-corrected, AI enhanced and AI colorized by means of sophisticated software.

Pieterpad 2021 Thruhike 498km
Hi there,
Last month i did walked Het Pieterpad.
This is the longest thruhike in The Netherlands 498km's long
from Pieterburen to the st. Pietersberg. I walked it in 23 days on my own and camped all the way.

The 'Fietserpad' is a variant of the Long distance walking trail 'the Pieterpad' and describes various cycling tours through the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands.
The bicycle route is 570 kilometer long and goes from Maastricht in the South to Pieterburen in the North of the Netherlands.
Mid-May 2021 i cycled a part of the route. First I went from home to Maastricht and from there I started the cyclist route.
The best way to visit a country is by bycicle. Not too fast and not too slow. You experience your journey in an intense way. You feel the climat, you smel the landscape and you you are a part of it. It's easy to interact with the people. Bicycle touring has really enriched my life. So watch my video's and join me.

Watch the Dutch Beta Enduro team rider during their ONK Enduro race in Zelhem. Joey Bak took the overall in the N3 class, Dominque Tijhuis Trutmans took the overall in the N2 class and Bjorn Sloot finished the day on a solid 5th place in the E3 class.

Hiking The Pieterpad | Part One | Pieterburen-Rolde | Solo Female | Long Distance Hiking | The NL
At the beginning of September 2021 I hiked the first six sections of one of the most well-known long distance hiking paths in The Netherlands: The Pieterpad.
I'm planning to walk the entire Pieterpad trail (about 500km/300miles, from the town of Pieterburen in the North of the country, to the Sint Pietersberg -Mount St Peter- in the south) in the coming year and film the entire experience.
This Part One video covers the first four sections, day one to day four, Pieterburen-Winsum-Groningen-Zuidlaren-Rolde.

Midden in de Zuid-Limburgse heuvels aan de rand van het Geuldal ligt ons 4 persoons vakantiehuisje. Het maakt deel uit van een kleinschalig vakantiepark; de Mechelerhof. Rechtstreeks vanaf dit park zijn vele mooie wandelingen en fietstochten te maken.
Ons huisje ligt aan de rand van het park met vrij zicht op de natuur richting oosten en het zuiden. Het heeft een ruim dakterras waar je van vroeg in het voorjaar tot laat in de zomer van kunt genieten. De woonkamer heeft een grote raampartij waardoor er altijd veel licht binnenvalt en je goed zicht hebt op de prachtige natuur.
Het huisje heeft twee niveaus. Je komt binnen in de goed uitgeruste keuken met vaatwasser, magnetron/oven, nespresso- en filterkoffie-apparaat. Boven tref je de overige ruimtes; een woonkamer met vrij uitzicht over de heuvels, twee slaapkamers met elk twee boxsprings van goede kwaliteit en modern en fris sanitair (apart toilet en badkamer met inloopdouche)
Voor de fietsen zijn er gratis afsluitbare stallingen. Mocht je een fiets willen huren dan zijn die op het park beschikbaar (mountainbike, gewoon of elektrisch). Kaartjes voor toegang tot zwembad Mosaqua in Gulpen zijn bij de prijs inbegrepen.
Vanaf het huisje wandel je in 10 minuten naar de gezellige cafe's en restaurants van Mechelen.
Aken en Maastricht liggen dichtbij. Binnen een half uurtje sta je in het gezellige centrum van deze steden. De plek om de kerstsfeer te beleven.
