Walk in Xi'an South Gate(Yongning Gate) Square, City Wall Park｜China｜南门广场（护城河公园，书院门，榴园）｜西安｜4K HDR
Xi'an City Wall, also known as the Fortifications of Xi'an, is the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.
Xi’an City Wall includes four gates and they are respectively named as Changle (meaning eternal joy) in the east, Anding (harmony peace) in the west, Yongning (eternal peace) in the south and Anyuan (forever harmony) in the north.
The south gate, Yongning Gate, is one of the most time-honored and magnificent one among all the city gates. It is near to the Bell Tower(Just 10 minutes’ walking distance), center of the city. The most important greeting ceremonies are usually held in the south gate square. The South Gate Square is located in the central axis of Xi’an City which cross The Bell Tower. This axis was formed in Ming Dynasty(1582). It is the center of Xi'an culture, tourism and commerce. It is restored and formally open to public on September 6, 2014, covering an area of around 7.9 acres (32,000 square meters).
In the evening the City Wall and South Gate are illuminated and provide a stunning view. Today, I walked around the famous places, including South Gate Square, City Wall Park, Pomegranate Garden, South Gate Plaza, Shuyuanmen Ancient Cultural Street(under construction) to view the most beautiful scenery in Xi’an.

3 days in Xi'an - TOP Attractions Terracotta Warriors + more | CHINA
If you've ever dreamed of seeing the terracotta warriors, seeing the most well preserved ancient fortress in the world or simply eating some of the best hand pulled noodles then Xi'an needs to go on your travel bucket list.
We're joined by our parents who flew all the way from NZ for this special family trip. We made our way around some of Xi'an's most prominent landmarks. 3 days of adventure starting with visiting The Terracotta Army.
We have always wanted to see the terracotta army in Xian China. We were fortunate enough to see a few of the terracotta warriors in an exhibition shown at Te Papa (Wellington, NZ) not too long ago but seeing the actual terracotta warriors / terracotta army pit in Xi'an, China itself where they have been and still are being excavated is simply amazing.
Insanely crowded but it's a must visit attraction when in Xian China to visit the terracotta army.

Xi'an is well known for its delicious Chinese noodles so we hit up a local restaurant for a bowl of mouth watering hand pulled Xi'an noodles. We both love Xian noodles so getting to have them in Xian China itself was so good!
We then visited the Small Wild Goose Pagoda sometimes also known as Little Wild Goose Pagoda which is one of two significant pagodas in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. The other being the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Both pagodas are important Buddhist sites, dating back to the Tang Dynasty around 1,300 years ago.
Finally we took a walk along Xian's city fortress also known as Xi'an City Wall and Fortifications of Xi'an. It's the most complete city wall that has survived in China and also one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Definitely another must visit when in Xi'an China. We went closer to the evening and was able to enjoy and capture a beautiful sunset over Xi'an too.

The next day we visited one of the most famous mountains of China which is Mount Hua aka Huashan. The area is huge so there are multiple different routes you can take. We decided to go on a cable car up Huashan mountain for our parents' sake. The cable car line starts from Donggoukou to West Peak with a stop at White Sparrow Temple. The whole ride is about 4,211 meters (2.6 miles) long and takes about 20 minutes.
Later on that evening we return to check out Muslim Street as well as the Great Mosque of Xi'an. The Great Mosque of Xi'an despite it being a mosque is unique because of its ancient Chinese architecture. It's a nice quiet place to visit especially if you're needing a break from the super loud and busy Muslim Street.
Muslim Street in Xi'an is packed with a lot of streetfood, restaurants and souvenir stalls. Definitely another top place to visit when in Xi'an China. After a full day of adventure we find ourselves some more delicious hand pulled noodles because when in Xi'an, you must get as much Xi'an noodles as you can in you ????

For our final day our family went to Shaanxi History Museum. Shaanxi History Museum was the first modern national museum in China and definitely worth visiting if you enjoy learning about ancient Chinese history.

In southern China, among the Na, marriage does not exist and women share power. In a village perched in the mountains, Erchema lives cut off from the world with her sister Zhuoma Lacuo. This little corner of paradise is her whole world.
Next autumn, on her 13th birthday, Erchema will become a woman, as tradition dictates. She will have to interrupt her schooling to work in the fields and help feed the family. She has been chosen to be the next head of the family.
But on the other side of the mountains, on the shores of Lake Lugu, their older sister Lamu went against tradition and the family's wishes. She married and had a child, whom she is bringing up alone with her husband. Cier and Lamu are prepared to do anything to oppose the clan's decision and allow Erchema and her sister to continue their education.

Yongning Mountain Ancient Village ???????? China ???????? 永寧山古寨
Yongning Ancient Village is an ancient village site in Song Dynasty, also known as Shiloutai Shanzhai. It is adjacent to Luohe River in the west and Xiaoshiloutai Mountain in the north. It is built on the top of Shiloutai Mountain. The plane is slightly square, and there are about 50 rectangular cliff chambers that connect with each other, which are roughly distributed in three layers. The first and second floors are living rooms, the third floor is for public activities or public facilities, and the top of the mountain is the Zhenwu Temple. On the bottom floor, there is a water cliff road, which can directly draw water from the Luo River. Now, the remaining height of the wall is 3-6 meters. On the cliff on the west side, there are four big characters inscribed on the cliff, Luo Shangqi Peak, in italics, with a diameter of 1.5 meters. This is a typical representative of the cliff villages and cliff dwellings of Luohe River in Zhidan.
According to the Records of Baoan County, before the Song Dynasty, the mountain was made of stone according to the quality of the mountain, which resembled a building with a platform carved on it, so it was named Stone Building Terrace. In later generations, relying on its natural dangers as a barrier, ancient villages were built to avoid wars. The Luoshang Qifeng on the cliff on the west side of the Guzhai was inscribed by He Yaobin, the county magistrate of Bao'an County, and the year is August of the 16th year of the Republic of China (1927). At that time, the Baoan County Office used to live in this village.
Zhidan County has been an important frontier in all dynasties. In ancient times, in order to avoid the war, the residents at the foot of the Yongning Mountain climbed to the top of the mountain and used ropes to hang people in the air. It is said that people who entered the cave at that time used the original method. First, they used a long rope to hang people from the top of the mountain to the entrance of the cave, and then the people on the top of the mountain went down to the foot of the mountain, and then some people who entered the hole put long ropes and pulled people up from below. . When the person in the cave retracts the rope, no one else can enter the cave. By the Song Dynasty, there were more than 100 stone chambers, stone kilns and stone caves carved on the mountain, which could accommodate more than 1,000 people. The cottage is divided into three layers. The first layer is the highest, and the lookout posts and turrets of the ancient cottage were located here. Each floor is connected by a stone bridge, and the cottage is connected to the ground only by an overpass built on the southern cliff. If there is an enemy attacking and removing the overpass, the enemy will not be able to reach the cottage.
