Si eres apasionado de las artes o te gusta deleitarte con murales creativos de arte, el lugar que te vamos a presentar te va a encantar. Yaucromatic es una iniciativa de arte que definitivamente al conocerla pondrás en tu lista de lugares por visitar de la isla del encanto.
¿Cómo llegar?
Llegar a los murales que componen Yaucromatic es fácil. No importa de cuál parte de la isla inicia tu ruta, debes dirigirte al sur oeste conectando con la carretera #2. Ya estando en la carretera #2 y en Yauco debes tomar la salida para la entrada principal del pueblo. Esto te conecta con la carretera #124 la cuál te llevará directamente al casco urbano. ¡Es fácil!
De inmediato notarás cuando ya estés en el casco urbano, y entonces puedes estacionarte donde gustes. Luego lo que resta es caminar, conseguir las obras y tomarte la mejor foto en cada una de ellas. Las obras están distribuidas por todo el casco urbano de Yauco con la intención de lograr que los visitantes puedan recorrer el casco urbano completo y los negocios locales se vean beneficiados.
Como un dato curioso, el centro urbano de Yauco es un de los más grande que tiene Puerto Rico.
¿Qué es Yaucromatic?
Yaucromatic es una iniciativa de arte de la organización sin fines de lucro Arte para Unir. Esta organización e iniciativa fue creada en febrero de 2017 por el joven y líder comunitario Jonathan “Pito” Hernández.
La idea surge por una experiencia que Pito tuvo pintando la bandera del municipio (bandera yaucana) en una escalera del casco urbano junto a los estudiantes de la Escuela Especializada Ernesto Ramos Antonini. Desde ese día que vio el apoyo que las personas le brindaron decidió llevar el arte a otro nivel y convertirlo en la atracción principal del casco urbano.
Obras de arte de Yaucromatic:
Yaucromatic lleva tres años activo (2017) y cuenta con tres ediciones, las cuales recopilan múltiples obras de artistas locales e internacionales. La primera edición tiene 16 obras, la segunda 13 y la última edición tiene 12 obras y fueron inaugurada el 13 de julio de 2019.
Entre las obras más conocidas y favoritas del público están la que creó el joven muralista culebrense, Andrés Cortés. Esta consta de una secuencia de patrones (estilo peculiar de él), en colores refrescantes como el azul, rosa, amarrillo, con la palabra Yauco en el centro, en cursiva y color blanco. También está la primera y única obra (hasta el momento) con la técnica 3D, realizada por la muralista mexicana, Adry Del Rocío.
Cada obra tiene un tema y un nombre. Cada artista pone su amor, pasión y mensaje en su obra, formando parte de la historia de esta increíble iniciativa.
Obra 3D, Soñadoras:
Esta obra es una que tiene un significado especial. Esta refleja a una niña sosteniendo una burbuja y una abuela al costado izquierdo de la niña como susurrándole algo al oído.
Esta obra representa la lucha de nuestros sueños y la equidad. La anciana representa las pasadas generaciones que nos dejaron su legado, y nos dan sus consejos para luchar.
La niña representa las nuevas generaciones que prosiguen sus luchas por la igualdad. Las estrellas de mar representan los sueños por los que hay que luchar, representados de dos maneras, en el pensamiento y en el corazón, mientras que las burbujas representa la fragilidad de esos sueños, motivando a protegerlos. Por eso las burbujas salen del pecho.
Definitivamente uno de los mensajes más bonitos de todas las obras de Yaucromatic.
Brisa Tropical:
La obra más popular de Yaucromatic es la obra titulada Brisa Tropical. Esta obra es un mosaico macro mural y fue propuesta y elaborada por el artista de mosaicos Samuel González junto a los residentes del sector.
Esta obra se realizó en el sector La Cantera en el Cerro de Yauco y está formada por 19 residencias.
Para lograr el hermoso resultado se utilizaron 10 colores, cinco de ellos cálidos y los otros cinco tropicales, logrando así revivir el sector La Cantera dándole ese toque tropical, convirtiéndolo en la obra más popular de Yaucromatic.
Recorrido por las obras:
Esta iniciativa ha logrado que el casco urbano de Yauco se posicione como uno de los lugares turísticos preferidos. Ha tomado mucha popularidad en los últimos dos años. Por esa razón la organización creó un medio de transporte por todo el casco urbano. Ellos le llaman los “politaxis”, son policías en vehículos de motor dando transportación gratuita a los visitantes hacia las diferentes obras, ya que el flujo de visitantes ha aumentado significativamente.
Ponce & Yauco ???????? | Puerto Rico's Southern Cities (Yaucromatic)
We explore Southern Puerto Rico to see what most tourists are missing off the beaten path in Puerto Rico. Most travelers stick to San Juan, but Puerto Rico is full of beauty all around the island. We start off at Plaza las Delicias in Downtown Ponce, Puerto Rico. Ponce is the 'Pearl of the South.' We make our way to Yaucromatic in Yauco, Puerto Rico. We finish our day with a hike at Cerro El Rodadero, just north of Yauco.
