This small neighborhood tucked away at the far northern reaches of the Bronx is by far New York City’s best kept little Irish secret. Woodlawn by far has the largest concentration of Irish culture in the New York City area. This is New York City's Little Ireland.
Woodlawn is a predominantly working class Irish neighborhood rooted in tradition. Interestingly, the neighborhood is the home to thousands of foreign born Irish immigrants- which helps to retain it’s authenticity. There are several pockets of Irish neighborhoods in the New York City area, most of them being the home of second, third, and fourth generation Irish Americans- Woodlawn, however, has the largest population of Irish born immigrants in the City.

Bob Ross Gravesite | Woodlawn Cemetery
Today we visit the Bob Ross Gravesite. Let's take a POV drive in the Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home. We'll road trip around the entire cemetery from the Main Entrance to the exit, with a stop to see where the artist Bob Ross is buried. Located in West Orlando, Florida, the Woodlawn Cemetery is a landmark in the Gotha area of Central Florida. Also included in the tour: The Life of Christ Mosaic.
There are a few specific goals of Travel Towner:
1. To take fun POV (“Point-of-View”) videos of scenic drives, highways, and roadways so you can virtually travel anywhere you like; or look back at a time when you were younger.
2. Document a fun walking tour of a specific park, attraction, or point of interest so you can see what's it's like to really be there.

Another big part of the channel is to document a piece of Americana… at a certain point in time. Wouldn’t it be cool to go back to where you lived, 20 or 30 years ago, and take a ride through your hometown? As more roadway drives, walking tours, and vintage trips are added, it builds history so future viewers can go “back in time” and see what it was like, back then.

Baltimore (area) Bicycling - Medfield (City) to Woodlawn (County) via full Gwynn Oak Ave (Full Ride)

Here is the first in a series of rides through far west, southwest, and south Baltimore. In this installment, I travel from home in Medfield out to Woodlawn using the full length of Gwynn Oak Ave. I get to the northeast end of Gwynn Oak Ave via Park Heights Ave and Cold Spring Lane. I then travel out to Woodlawn, looping around to the south end of Gwynn Oak Ave since the last section is one-way northbound. I traveled through the City neighborhoods of Medfield, Woodberry, Greenspring, Central Park Heights, Towanda-Grantley, Dolfield, Dorchester, West Arlington, and Howard Park, as well as the Baltimore County area of Woodlawn. Filmed on May 23, 2020, from around 9am to 10am.
