Painesville is a city in the county seat of Lake County, Ohio along the Grand River. Twenty seven miles Northeast of Cleveland, Ohio. The court house was designed by architect J. Milton Dyer and built in 1909. Statues of the Biblical Cain and Abel flank the stairway entering the court house. (I love the architect of these older court houses.)

Sand Ridge Golf Club, was designed by Tom Fazio and is located in Munson Township, Geauga County, Ohio, near Chardon. Construction on the course started in late 1995 and opened for its private members on May 18, 1998
Tom Fazio's spectacular course design has lived up to Bill Conway's vision, attracting both local and national acclaim. The club has received numerous awards, and was ranked as high as America’s 52nd best golf course by Golf Digest. In its brief history, Sand Ridge has hosted numerous qualifiers, including the U.S. Open, the Senior and Junior Amateur, and, most recently, the NCAA Division I Men’s Regional qualifier in 2006.

MACYS CLOSING GREAT LAKES MALL- MENTOR OHIO
This is my video tour of the now closed Macys in Mentor ohio in the Cleveland metro area. This was an amazing store and had a-lot of good fixtures. I ended up buying a display sign with the Macy's logo on it. This Macy's is located at the Great Lakes Mall. Welcome to this extraordinary Renaissance Revival style 3-story mansion. Visited by many dignitaries, it was designed and built in 1905 by Cleveland's most renowned and progressive architect, J. Milton Dyer. He is best known for designing Cleveland City Hall and the Summit County Court House. He constructed this gorgeous lake front home with commercial building methods. The roof in fact was built using 24-inch steel beams.
Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this home located in the Breezy Bluff's lake front community of Bratenahl, was once owned by Jay Pickands of Pickands-Mather & Co -- one of the largest iron ore companies in the US -- and the prominent Cushing medical family which includes four generations of doctors. The most famous of them, Dr. Harvey Cushing, was America's first brain surgeon & a recipient of a Pulitzer Prize.
This fabulous home with its Palladian-style architecture and its phenomenal unobstructed views of Lake Erie has been lovingly restored to its original splendor by the current owner. In fact the owners spent $1,500,000 on the homes restoration which included stripping layers of paint off the woodwork. They replaced the roof, the heating and cooling system, the electrical panels, most of the electrical wiring and plumbing, added magnetic windows that fit snugly onto the original windows, and more.
This fine stuccoed masonry structure is a piece of art and is quite unique for its age. It has a very open floor plan and generous light-filled living spaces thanks to the openness of the floor plan and several oversized Palladian-style windows and French doors. The home is in perfect harmony with the natural landscape and was built capitalizing on the lake views in mind.
A loggia-styled front porch with gorgeous Corinthian-style columns and a stunning front door with leaded glass welcomes those to the home and makes a dramatic statement. Inside there is voluminous ceilings, mahogany and tiger oak millwork, a hand-carved limestone fireplace in the grand hall, an incredible grand winding staircase with intricate carved railings, solid coffered ceilings, coffered archways, plaster walls, detailed plaster crown molding reliefs, solid pocket doors, an elevator to the 2nd floor, 10 fireplaces, wood floors, wood-paneled walls, and original lighting including an original gas light fixture in the dining room that was converted to electric. There are a number of French doors throughout the home that lead to the large tiled patio, a veranda, and wrought iron outdoor balconies.
The footprint of this romantic mansion is Palladian-style as well. It is essentially a large rectangle with two symmetrical wings projecting off the front corners of the home. On the main floor there is a wood-paneled Vestibule with tile floors; an impressive Grand Hall with a winding grand staircase & limestone fireplace; a formal Living Room with a fireplace, built-ins, and access to an adjoining Family Room that used to be called as used as a Tea Room; a window-filled formal Dining Room with wainscoting, fireplace, built-in china cabinets, several sets of french doors to the patio, and access to a Butlers Pantry with loads of storage and upper glass cabinets; a beautiful wood-paneled Library with built-ins and a bayed window wall with French doors to the patio; and the original Kitchen with a fireplace, walk-in pantry with tons of upper and lower storage and the original Jewett-Buffalo refrigerators with updated refrigeration components, access to a catering room, a workshop, and the attached 3-car garage with car lift. Also off the kitchen is a back hallway with a back stairwell and access to a couple of closets and a powder room.
On the 2nd floor you will find hardwood floors; 3 bedroom suites with coved ceilings, fireplaces, and their own private sitting rooms; a 2nd floor laundry center on route to the 3rd floor; and the Owners Suite which features a fireplace, access to the Veranda, tons of storage space, dual baths, dual dressing rooms, and a sauna.
The 3rd floor is fully finished and is a great in-law or guest suite. It is heated and cooled and has pine floors, a full kitchen that is open to both the dining and living area, three bedrooms, and several closets including one with built-in dressers.
The walk-out lower level is unfinished. It has the original laundry hookup and tons of storage capacity. Much of the electrical and plumbing has been updated in this historic mansion home. However, the kitchen and bathrooms remain in their original state for the true preservation of this historical gem.
