de Puzzelmankerk in Klein-Willebroek
Tijdens onze wandeling in Boom en Klein-Willebroek brachten we een bezoekje aan de Puzzelmankerk in Klein-Willebroek. Dat hadden we nog nooit gezien, een kerk die diende om spellen en puzzels te verkopen.
De Onze-Lieve-Vrouw Onbevlekt Ontvangenkerk in Klein-Willebroek heeft een stevige geschiedenis. De kerk werd gebouwd in1899, maar werd compleet verwoest bij een hevige brand in 2003. Het gebouw werd opnieuw heropgebouwd, sinds 2009 deed de leegstaande kerk dienst als harmoniummuseum. Nu ook dat verhaal ten einde is, wou Klein-Willebroekenaar Eric Dilles de kerk een nieuwe toekomst geven. En hij is er zeker in geslaagd, als je het mij vraagt.
De Puzzelmankerk is zeker wel de mooiste Spellen- en Puzzelwinkel in de wereld .

Eng: During our walk in Boom and Klein-Willebroek, we paid a visit to the Puzzelman church in Klein-Willebroek. We had never seen that before, a church that served to sell games and puzzles.
The Church of Our Lady Immaculate Conception in Klein-Willebroek has a solid history. The church was built in 1899, but was completely destroyed by a fierce fire in 2003. The building was rebuilt and since 2009, the empty church has served as a harmonium museum. Now that that story is also over, Klein-Willebroeken resident Eric Dilles wanted to give the church a new future. And he certainly succeeded, if you ask me.
The Puzzelmankerk is certainly the most beautiful games and puzzles shop in the world.

#antwerpen or #antwerp is the largest city in #belgium by area at 204.51 km2 (78.96 sq mi) and the capital of Antwerp Province in the Flemish Region. With a population of 530,504,[1] it is the most populous municipality in Belgium, and with a metropolitan population of around 1,200,000 people, it is the second-largest metropolitan region in Belgium, second only to Brussels.
There is a folklore tradition that the name Antwerpen is from Dutch handwerpen (hand-throwing). A giant called Antigoon is said to have lived near the Scheldt river and extracted a toll from passing boatmen. He severed the hand of anyone who did not pay, and threw it in the river. Eventually the giant was killed by a young hero named Silvius Brabo, who cut off the giant's own hand and flung that into the river. This is unlikely to be the true origin, but it is celebrated by a statue (illustrated further below) in the city's main market square, the Grote Markt.

Visiting Dinant | The Historical Town of Belgium
Welcome to Robbie Travels and today we will explore city of Dinant in Belgium. When you’re looking up where to go in Belgium, you might stumble upon Dinant. It’s a photographers, bloggers, and Instagrammers dream!
The name Dinant comes from the Celtic Divo Nanto, meaning Sacred Valley or Divine Valley; it can also be translated as Celestial Gorge or Luminous Gorge. When you visit the town’s cafés, try the regional specialties. Dinant is known for its Flamiche, a type of cheese tart and honey flavored Couque de Dinant biscuits. Dunk these sweet treats in a warm drink before biting into them because their hard consistency is legendary.
The city is also known as Daughter of the Meuse. It stretches along the river Meuse against the steep rock face behind on the eastern side, with a thinner strip on the western side against a forest. Its old town is perhaps one the most impressive sights in Wallonia, but the locality is relatively remote. The main sights are all close to each other and not very numerous, while accommodation opportunities are scarce, so Dinant is probably a good option for a nice day trip from larger Belgian cities such as Brussels, Charleroi or Liège. It also can serve as the starting point for a more thorough exploration of the Ardennes.
I thought one of the coolest fun facts about Dinant is that it’s where Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the Saxophone, was born. I love how they have a celebrity even in this small city. They’ve done a good job promoting him and celebrating the saxophone too. I don’t know if you noticed, but there are a few saxophones around the city, especially on the Charles de Gaulle bridge.

Trip to Belgium (2) - Fort Breendonk
Das Festung Breendonk befindet sich bei Willebroek und ist seit 1947 eine nationale Gedenkstätte. Ursprünglich war die Festung Teil des belgischen Verteidigungsgürtels, wurde aber 1940 während des zweiten Weltkrieges von der deutschen Wehrmacht erobert. Bis zum Herbst 1944 diente das Fort als Auffanglager für die geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo). Über 3000 Menschen wurden bis zur Befreiung inhaftiert. Es überlebten etwa 450 Menschen die Torturen. Seitdem widmet sich die Gedenkstätte der Erinnerung der Geschehnisse im KZ-Sammellager und macht mit der Erhaltung der Festung, Besichtigungen der Gefängniszellen, und der dort aufbewahrten Gegenstände einen dunklen Teil der Geschichte lebendig.
The fort Breendonk is located at Willebroek and is since 1947 a national memorial. Initially the fort was part of the Belgian defense line, but was conquered in 1940 during the second worldwar by the German forces. Until the autumn of 1944 served the fort as a reception center for the german secret state police (Gestapo). Over 3000 people were imprisoned until the liberation. The torture survived about 450 people. Since then, the memorial is dedicated to the memory of what happened in the concentration camps and with the preservation of the fortress, visiting the prison cells, and the objects from there, they make a dark part of history alive.

Het centrum van het dorp laten we voor een volgende vlog. Het landelijke Leest bruist van een wondermooie natuur met landbouw, akkerbouw en bossen. Antwerp is on the river Scheldt, linked to the North Sea by the river's Westerschelde estuary. The Port of Antwerp is one of the biggest in the world, ranking second in Europe[5][6] and within the top 20 globally. The city is also known as the hub of the world's diamond trade. In 2020, the Globalization and World Cities Research Network rated Antwerp as a Gamma + (third level/top tier) Global City.
Both economically and culturally, Antwerp is and has long been an important city in the Low Countries, especially before and during the Spanish Fury (1576) and throughout and after the subsequent Dutch Revolt. The Bourse of Antwerp, originally built in 1531 and re-built in 1872, was the world's first purpose-built commodity exchange. It was founded before stocks and shares existed, so was not strictly a stock exchange.
The inhabitants of Antwerp are nicknamed Sinjoren , after the Spanish honorific señor or French seigneur, lord, referring to the Spanish noblemen who ruled the city in the 17th century.The city hosted the 1920 Summer Olympics.

Met de Stromer ST3 van Willebroek naar Ruisbroek via klein Willebroek
Vertrek aan de Vredesbrug in Willebroek. De weg gaat voorbij het voormalige terrein en gebouwen vanhet papierfabriek De Naeyer en CMI. Via de fabrieksstraat en de Victor Dumont zetten we de weg verder naar Klein Willebroek. Via de Antwerpse steenweg rijden we naar het rondpunt waar we over de blauwe Boulevard brug rijden.
Via de Gansbroekstraat rijden we richting Ruisbroek. We volgen fietsknooppunt 11. Van De Kaardijkstraat rijden we naar Ruisbroek Dorp en slagen we af naar de kerk.

De Vredesbrug of Brug van Willebroek is een industriële hefbrug met een opmerkelijke metalen structuur over het Zeekanaal Brussel-Schelde in Willebroek die in gebruik genomen is in 1952.
Papierfabriek De Naeyer was tussen 1860 en 2004 een papierfabriek in Willebroek in de provincie Antwerpen, België.
Klein-Willebroek is een gehucht van Willebroek, ten noorden van het centrum en ervan gescheiden door het Zeekanaal Brussel-Schelde. Geprangd tussen de Rupel en de industrie langs het huidige kanaaltraject, gaat het dorpje oostwaarts over in een omheen het BLOSO-domein de Hazewinkel gelegen natuur- en recreatiegebied.
De Boulevardbrug is een basculebrug in de Antwerpse gemeente Willebroek over het Zeekanaal Brussel-Schelde. De brug ligt in de N177 in het verlengde van de Rupelbrug over de Rupel. Het doorgaand verkeer maakt eerder gebruik van de Rupeltunnel onder het Zeekanaal en onder de Rupel.
Ruisbroek is een dorp in de Belgische provincie Antwerpen en een deelgemeente van Puurs-Sint-Amands. In het plaatselijke dialect, het Kleinbrabants wordt het dorp Roasbroek genoemd.
