WESTERN AUSTRALIA: PERTH in 4K - Ultimate ROAD TRIP - ALL Sights, Fremantle & Koala Park
Australia is a paradise for every traveller. The gigantic country is full of wild animals, beautiful natural places and cultural highlights. After a previous trip along the east coast of Australia, we now visit the west coast in the province of Western Australia. And how? We take the 4x4 with two rooftop tents and head out into the great outdoors. We drive from Perth to Broome and last time you saw us take a trip to Margaret River in the south. In this second part, it's the turn of the only major city on the west coast: Perth! We see the beautiful skyline, walk through King's Park and the Botanic Gardens. We also see Australia's oldest baobab tree of up to 750 years old and the city's war memorial. We dive downtown at Elisabeth Quay, do a beer tasting at Island Beerhouse and drive to colonial Freemantle. Finally, there is also time for a visit to the Cohunu Koala Park, a nature reserve where all Australian animals can be viewed well. What an adventure!
After this first part we will visit Perth, Fremantle, Rotnest Island, the Pinnacles, Geraldton, Hutt Lagoon, Calbarri National Park, Hamlin Pool, Shark Bay, François Peron, Monkey Mia, Carnarvon, Coral Bay, Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth, Cape Range National Park, Karijini National Park, Port Headland, 80 Mile Beach, Cape Keraudren and Broome.
We make our trip through Australia during a year-long world tour. We may even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia. The next continent Australia is already our nineteenth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in Perth, then the rest of West-Australia and then to many more beautiful destinations! What are the poorest places in the UK? The last thing that’ll come to mind when the UK is mentioned is poverty. It’s not among the countries you’ll associate poverty with. This should be clearly noted as we begin. Yet, not every part of Great Britain has the affluence of London, Edinburgh, or Glasgow. Some places in the UK are poor. We’re here to show you the 10 poorest places in the UK.
These places are the same neighborhood with the biggest shortages of basic social infrastructure and facilities such as playgrounds, parks, pubs, shops, and sports centers. You’ll find some of them among the areas left behind in England, Wales, and Scotland. Authorities have to do something about these 10 poorest places in the UK.
10. Newport, Wales
We’re starting in Wales. One of the poorest places in the UK is a city and county borough in Gwent in Wales. We are referring to Newport which is situated on the River Usk close to the river’s confluence with the Severn Estuary. It is 19 kilometers northeast of Cardiff. Newport’s population of 145,700 at the 2011 census notwithstanding, all is not going on fine with the city. It can’t get past its nagging poverty.
Imagine this: of Newport’s 95 neighborhoods in Newport, 23 currently rank among the most deprived in Wales. Do the math, and you will find out that this is about 24 percent of the authority. That’s the biggest percentage of deprivation in the country.
9. Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland
Wales doesn’t have a monopoly on poor places. Scotland has, at least, one of the 10 poorest places in the UK. You’ll find the ninth on our list in Inverclyde. This is Greenock, a town and administrative center in the Inverclyde council area. The town with a population of 44,248 is located in the west-central Lowlands of Scotland.
As proof of how gripping the poverty state of this town is, its population reduced by almost 3,000 within 10 years. In a report that shows how poor some parts of the nations are, Greenock tops the list. In the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation for 2020, Greenock has the highest number of deprived areas in Scotland.
8. Halton, England
England too has some of the poorest places in the UK and the first of these on this list is the eighth poorest place in the UK, Halton. The district and unitary authority that registers its name on this list has a borough status in Cheshire.
When you consider its ranking as one of the worst areas in England and Wales by a global children's charity that also ranks Halton as one of the worst areas in England and Wales to be a girl, you will understand why Halton slipped into the rank of the 20 most deprived areas in England. Other indices like life expectancy, children poverty which is 25 percent, health inequality, and unemployment rates are not in a positive light for this district.
7. Merthyr Tydfil, Wales
We’re back in Wales to find Merthyr Tydfil, the main town in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, as the seventh of the 10 poorest places in the UK. The town administered by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is about 37 kilometers north of Cardiff. Often called Merthyr, the town believed to be named after Tydfil, daughter of King Brychan of Brycheiniog, has a population of 43,820.
This town seems to be hitting above its weight as the go-to place for those looking for gloomy job news. As of March 2018, the unemployment rate was 5.7 percent. Even though it's an iron producer, poor transportation service is the bane of this town that makes it so poor.
6. South Elmsall, England
South Elmsall is a small town and a civil parish lying to the east of Hemsworth with a population of 6,519. When it comes to safety, this town is among the most dangerous of small towns, villages, and cities in West Yorkshire. It’s faring badly in income deprivation, employment deprivation, education, skills and training deprivation, health deprivation, and disability. The 2021 overall crime rate in South Elmsall was 111 crimes per 1,000 people Living in this small town, you will be on a downward spiral of ill health and at the risk of premature death or the impairment of quality of life caused by poor physical or mental health.

WORLD CLASS OPTUS STADIUM - Perth Western Australia
Perths’ world class Optus Stadium has been described as one of the most impressive stadiums in the world and voted the best and most beautiful Sports Facility in The World.
Sitting on the Burswood Peninsula with amazing views of the Swan River & Perth City the 60,000+ seat Optus stadium opened 21 Jan 2018 & is the place to go for the best sporting & entertainment events in Perth.
There are 5 levels of seating, plus two huge 340sm screens located at both sides of the Stadium, plus an additional 1,000 TV screens thru-out the inside of the Stadium
The Stadium has a purpose built Train & bus Station for event days, walk & cycle tracks with 600 bike racks around the stadium & the Burswood Public Jetty.
Perth Optus Stadium has hosted events such as Australia V’s England in the Gillette one day International Cricket on 28 Jan 2018, Perth Scorchers Game, AFL Football & NRL Rugby, Ed Sheeren world tour in March 2018, Taylor Swift in Oct 2018. In July 2019 Manchester United Soccer Team came to Perth for their match against Perth Glory & Leeds United with a sell out crowd at both games
Part of the Stadium is also The “Camfield” mega pub is possibly the largest licensed venue in Western Australia. It has room for 4,000 patrons with its main bar, function centre & outdoor courtyard. It has 175 beer taps & can serve 5,000 beers & 4,000 meals per day
Perth is now the place to visit from anywhere in the world where you can enjoy world class events at the Optus Stadium, & visit an array of other wonderful things to see & do whilst visiting WA.
