Lake Chelan is wine country here in the state of Washington. Between it's 50-mile long stunning lake, and over two dozen wineries, it's an amazing travel destination.
We partnered with Visit Lake Chelan and stayed at the stunning Siren Song Vineyard and explored Wapato Point Cellars (pronounced Wa-Paw-Toe), Cairdeis Winery, Chelan Valley Farms, and Tsillan Cellars for just a sample of what this region has to offer. Tsillan Cellars also gave us our adventure fix with an epic helicopter ride over the valley!

Overlanding Stampede Pass - An EPIC Offroad Trail Close to Seattle!
Stampede Pass is unlike any of the other mountain passes that cut through the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. Unpaved and undeveloped, it makes for an incredible trip.
And after striking out on this campsite the past few times we've been up there, this time we found it unoccupied .... and it did NOT disappoint!

Great walk on the Sauvie Island- -Wapato Greenway Loop -Portland

This walking loop around the Wapato Access Greenway State Park on Sauvie Island is a great destination year-round for bird watching. This loop will take you to a viewpoint over a marshy area where you may see herons and various song birds, to Hadley's Landing over the Multnomah Channel, then around the north end of the park back to the car.
My Favorite Places - Yakima River Canyon
Ralph Munro visits the Yakima Canyon Scenic Byway. Once the main highway between Ellensburg and Yakima, the freeway now bypasses this route. However, it's one of the most scenic drives in the state and it's one of Ralph Munro's favorite places!

Toppenish, WA and Yakima Valley - YouTube
I never heard of Toppenish until our travels brought us virtually to it's doorsteps, which goes to show how little I know or how poor the tourism marketing is. It's a cool little Western town that Cindy and I wouldn't mind returning to for a longer visit. The beautiful murals on the buildings are worth seeing, also we would like to connect with the Yakima Nation and explore the wild horses and buffalo that roam in the near by hills.
Incorporated in 1907, the City of Toppenish is located in Central Washington and is situated about 20 miles southeast of the City of Yakima. The City covers approximately two square miles and has a population of 9,000 residents.
The City of Toppenish has preserved its beginnings as a rugged western town through restoration and beautification efforts that make it a popular tourist attraction today. At the heart of the City and its beautification are over 70 outdoor, historical murals. They tell the story of early development of the City of Toppenish, and its rich history and cultural diversity.

▶︎ Experience Chelan Without Fighting the Crowds!
This is one of the most amazing campgrounds I’ve ever visited. It doesn’t look like much but it boasts waterfront tent camping and the showers and bathrooms are always clean and stocked. Sites are relatively small but big enough for two tents, their picnic table, fire pit, and some camping chairs. With two docks for fishing and floating as well as the adjascent boat launch, you’ll be able to play with all your water toys on Wapato Lake! I would highly recommend staying here if you want to visit the Chelan area without camping in downtown proper.
