Mahabaleshwar is most popular hill station in Maharashtra and is also called as Paradise Of Maharashtra. Mahabaleshwar is located in the Western Ghats also known as Sahyadri, in Satara district of Maharashtra.
As winters are coming and if you are planning to have a good vacation for 3-4 days then must visit Mahabaleshwar.
Note-Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani are located 15 km away from each other so eventually if you plan for Mahabaleshwar you can explore Panchgani as well. All scenic points are spread within 20 km's of Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. In this vlog I went for 4 days and 3 Nights. I Suggest to have your own 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler. You can also hire taxi on rent in Mahabaleshwar. 2 wheeler on rent is not available here.

Panchgani is a hill station southeast of Mumbai in India’s Maharashtra state. It’s known for the Table Land, a huge volcanic plateau. Lookouts like Sydney Point and Parsi Point offer views of Dhom Dam lake and Kamalgad Fort, used as a prison by the British in the early 19th century. To the southeast, the Rajpuri Caves are surrounded by sacred ponds and contain a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Kartikeya. Panchgani, called Paachgani (पाचगणी in Marathi), is a hill station and municipal council in Satara district in Maharashtra, India. Panchgani attracts many tourists throughout the year. It is also renowned for many premier residential educational institutions.
Panchgani is around 108 kilometers from Pune and 250 kilometers from Mumbai.
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS:
1.Table Land: Table Land is the second longest mountain plateau in Asia. It is capped with laterite rock. It is located at a height of 1387 m above MSL. There is a small lake within this table land. Horse riding is popular here.
2. Sydney Point: This point is situated on a hillock facing the Krishna Valley, and overlooks the waters of the Dhom Dam, and Pandavgad and Mandhardeo. Sydney's point is about 2 km from Panchgani bus stand.
3. Parsi Point: This point is situated toward Mahabaleshwar, and overlooks the Krishna valley and the waters of the Dhom Dam.
4. Devil's Kitchen: Situated at the south of the table land, the Devil's Kitchen has a mythology associated with it: It is believed that the Pandavas of the Mahabharat epic had stayed here for a while. Pandavgad Caves (near Wai) are said to be built by them then.
5. Mapro Garden: Mapro Gardens is a garden park known for their strawberry produce. It is located in village of Gureghar on the way to Mahabaleshwar and developed and maintained by Mapro, a food processing company.

Unexplored DHOM in Wai - The best way to plan your WAI trip | One day trip near Pune in summer
Dhom Dam or Dhom Lake is a beautiful place in Wai which is located in Dhom village. Apart from Dhom dam the ancient lord Laxmi Narasimha temple and Lord Siddheshwar temple are some of the main attractions here. Mainly this Dhom location trip can very well be planned along with Wai, Satara, Mahabaleshwar and Panchagani tourist locations. A lot of people prefer this Dhom dam/lake area as perfect one day trip from Pune, Kohlapur or Mahabaleshwar specifically during the summer due to availability of various water sports in Dhom Lake. Mostly these activities are arranged by Sahyadri Boating club and camping opportunities are also available. Dhom lake is one of the places to visit near Pune in summer.
This Dhom location can be explored easily along with other Wai nearby tourist locations like Menawali, Dakshin Kashi or even Mandhardevi. The mountain top view of the Dhom lake is another offbeat place to witness the serene beautiful Western Ghats covering the Dhom lake with some famous forts like Kamalgad fort, Pandavgad fort etc. The view is simply breathtaking.

Trip to Wai, Maharashtra | Picnic Spot near Pune
Wai is a town in Satara district of Maharashtra state in India. Located on the Krishna River, Wai was a prominent town during the Peshwa era. Two important Maratha Brahmin from ruling families had their origins here: Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi (Tambe family) and Gopikabai, wife of Nanasaheb Peshwa (Raste family).
This trip is from Pune to Wai which is approx 2 hours journey. Beautiful long drive & amazing landscapes.

Wai Sightseeing Places, Maharastra
A popular temple town with ancient mythological links, Wai is also a favourite tourist destination because of its scenic ambience and the fact that it can be a stop-over on the way to the hill-stations of Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. With its more than 100 temples, it is rightly known as the ‘Dakshin Kashi’ of Maharashtra. And if that’s not all, it is also the place where some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters have been shot.
Located 35kms North of the city of Satara, Wai is truly a pilgrim town with its 100 temples, most of which are constructed in the Hemadpanthi style of architecture that uses huge stone slabs without mortar. These are decorated with stucco, lime-made sculptures, and paintings. The most famous of all the temples at Wai is the Dholya Ganapati Temple or Maha Ganpati Temple on the bank of the river Krishna on Ganapati Aali Ghat. Famous for its design and grandeur, it was built in 1762 by Ganpatrao.
