Pretty Place - Symmes Chapel - Outdoor Chapel with Stunning Views - YMCA Camp Greenville
Fred W. Symmes Chapel, also known as Pretty Place, is the spiritual center of Camp Greenville. Symmes Chapel was constructed in 1941 and is owned by the YMCA Camp Greenville.
Symmes Chapel is known as Pretty Place because of the breathtaking views. Pretty Place has become popular and can get crowded. I arrived around 9:45am on a weekday and by 10:30am there was a large crowd of people enjoying the view. Despite the crowd it was still a location of peace and serenity.
Pretty Place is located near Caesars Head State Park so this would be a great stop if you are visiting Caesars Head and/or Bald Rock Heritage Preserve.
Be sure to check the Pretty Place public visitation schedule before your visit to ensure Symmes Chapel will be open when you arrive! They are often closed for Private Events such as Weddings at Pretty Place. The note on their website says The chapel visitation schedule changes daily and sometimes hourly. We recommend checking the online visitation schedule the evening before or the morning of your visit to ensure it is open to the public. Even then, we can not guarantee that it will be available.

Houmas House Plantation 4K
I did a little road trip while in New Orleans to a place called Burnside, Louisiana to visit the Houmas House Plantation and museum. What a beautiful place and location. Truly a beautiful place to visit when in Louisiana.
Wikipedia: The Houmas plantation had its beginnings when Alexander Latil and Maurice Conway appropriated all of the Houma tribe's land on the east side of the Mississippi River in 1774. Alexander Latil built a French Colonial style plantation house at the site around 1775.
It was a working sugarcane plantation by 1803, when the United States obtained the area through the Louisiana Purchase. Shortly afterwards The Houmas was purchased by Daniel Clark, who began to develop the property and built one of the first sugar mills along this stretch of the river. In June 1807, Clark and territorial Governor William C. C. Claiborne fought a duel on the property, in which Claiborne sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
In 1811, former American Revolutionary War general Wade Hampton purchased Daniel Clark's land holdings and slaves. Hampton was one of the wealthiest landowners and largest slaveholders in the antebellum era South.
