10 Best place to visit in Vylkove Ukraine

How to travel Ukraine: Vylkove. Discover Destination UA: Episode 11

Today our Ukraine travel guide visits Vylkove. It is called Ukrainian Venice. We can find lots of interesting here!
There are picturesque canals instead of streets and boats instead of cars in Vylkove.
You can walk from building to building across the drawbridges here. And parents give their children boats, not cars for birthdays.
The city is small but unique as well as the whole Ukraine travel. And we like everything unusual.

UKRAINE TRAVEL GUIDE. Best Places to Visit in UKRAINE | TOP 74 part 1

Ukraine (Ukrainian: Україна, romanized: Ukrayina, pronounced [ʊkrɐˈjinɐ] (About this soundlisten)) is a country in Eastern Europe.[8] It is bordered by Russia to the north-east; Belarus to the north; Poland, Slovakia and Hungary to the west; and Romania, Moldova, and the Black Sea to the south. Ukraine is currently in a territorial dispute with Russia over the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014.[9] Including the Crimean Peninsula, Ukraine has an area of 603,628 km2 (233,062 sq mi),[10] making it the second-largest country in Europe after Russia, and the 46th-largest country in the world. Excluding Crimea, Ukraine has a population of about 42 million,[3] making it the eighth or ninth-most populous country in Europe, and the 32nd-most populous country in the world. Its capital and largest city is Kiev. Ukrainian is the official language and its alphabet is Cyrillic. The dominant religion in the country is Eastern Orthodoxy.

The territory of modern Ukraine has been inhabited since 32,000 BC. During the Middle Ages, the area was a key centre of East Slavic culture, with the powerful state of Kievan Rus' forming the basis of Ukrainian identity. Following its fragmentation in the 13th century, the territory was contested, ruled and divided by a variety of powers, including the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Russia. A Cossack republic emerged and prospered during the 17th and 18th centuries, but its territory was eventually split between Poland and the Russian Empire. After World War II the Western part of Ukraine merged into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, and the whole country became a part of the Soviet Union as a single state entity. In 1991, Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union in the aftermath of its dissolution at the end of the Cold War. Before its independence, Ukraine was typically referred to in English as The Ukraine, but most sources have since moved to drop the from the name of Ukraine in all uses.[11]

Following its independence, Ukraine declared itself a neutral state;[12] it formed a limited military partnership with Russia and other CIS countries while also establishing a partnership with NATO in 1994. In 2013, after the government of President Viktor Yanukovych had decided to suspend the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement and seek closer economic ties with Russia, a several-months-long wave of demonstrations and protests known as the Euromaidan began, which later escalated into the 2014 Ukrainian revolution that led to the overthrow of Yanukovych and the establishment of a new government. These events formed the background for the annexation of Crimea by Russia in March 2014, and the War in Donbass in April 2014. On 1 January 2016, Ukraine applied the economic component of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union.[13]

Ukraine is a developing country and ranks 88th on the Human Development Index. As of 2018, Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe alongside Moldova in terms of GDP per capita. At US$40, it has the lowest median wealth per adult in the world,[note 1][14] and suffers from a very high poverty rate as well as severe corruption.[15] However, because of its extensive fertile farmlands, Ukraine is one of the world's largest grain exporters.[16][17] It also maintains the second-largest military in Europe after that of Russia. Ukraine is a unitary republic under a semi-presidential system with separate powers: legislative, executive and judicial branches. The country is a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the GUAM organization, and one of the founding states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

ZATOKA, UKRAINE (with audioguide): Black Sea, beach, resort secrets, history, rate | Odessa region

#Zatoka #Ukraine #Odessaregion #tourisminukraine #tourism #beachvacation #worldwithatwist

Instagram:

Our blog about Zatoka:
Zatoka, Ukraine (Odessa region): the most popular beach resort of the country

Zatoka – the most popular beach resort in Ukraine. In this video we will show you how the vacation in Zatoka looks like, we will make an overview of the beach, share with you what to do during the stay there, explore the history of the resort foundation and give the rate to the vacation in Zatoka.

We went to Zatoka from Kyiv by car. It took us about 530 km and 7 hours to get to the resort. We left in the morning and closer to the evening we enjoyed the seaside.

Zatoka is an urban-type settlement in Odessa region, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi raion, 60 km away from Odessa. The town is located on a sand spit of the Dniester Estuary next to where the Dniester flows into the Black Sea.
There are a number of hypotheses for why this sea was eventually called the Black Sea. One theory is that the name “Black” was given to the sea by sailors, who observed how the sea turned black during severe storms in winter.

The main attraction of Zatoka resort is a sandy 50 m-wide and 5 km long beach. Shallow water made Zatoka a popular family resort for Ukrainians, Moldavians, Belarusians. Sometimes you can even meet a foreigner from far abroad there.

During the stay in Zatoka we recommend to visit the local aquapark, to go for a walk in Odessa (60 km from the resort), to visit Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi fortress (25 km from the resort), Vylkove (settlement, which is famous for its road absence, its numerous water canals, which the locals use for fishing of their local especially delicious Danube herring) – 167 km from the resort, and finally tasting of Shabo wines (20 km from the resort).
Also starting from 2014 a festival Jazz-Koktebel is organized here in Zatoka. This festival was in Crimea before. One more interesting festival, which is held annually in August in the nearby resort settlement Karolina-Buhaz, is a sport-musical festival called Z-Games.

All kinds of activities are available to vacationers on the beach. Children can build sand fortresses, ride a pony or water slide, observe sea inhabitants, adults can play beach soccer, volleyball, badminton, ride a banana, jet skis or motorboat, or just enjoy reading a fascinating book under the noise of sea waves.

Some come to the beach with their pets.

We love to have a vacation in Zatoka. But not only because of swimming in the sea but more because of the possibility to relax, enjoy the sea breeze, observe the sea waves and funny seagulls. It is a kind of therapy – the way to reset after a busy life in a big city.

Everyone can find a place on the beach. But we can’t tell the same about the places in hotels. It is necessary to think about accommodation in Zatoka in advance, as a lot of tourists are coming here, especially in the high season.

There are different hotels, apartments, cafes, restaurants at any taste and budget. You can also buy fresh local juicy fruits by the market.

Zatoka was called Bugaz until 1945. Locals explain that this name has a Tatar origin and in translation it means “loose sands”. In Turkic languages, this word is still used and means mouth or strait. Bugaz was founded in 1827 and at that time its history wasn’t connected with tourism. The settlement grew around the lighthouse. Step by step the settlement grew and turned into a fishing village. From the end of the 19th century, when a stay on the coast became to be considered healing, summer houses were built here. Childrens’ health sanatoriums were built here for the treatment of the respiratory system. At the end of 1950s, Zatoka began to gain popularity. The resort has become not only a place of recovery, but also a location for a beach holiday.

We have been to many beach resorts around the world and we can say that Zatoka is rather a good resort for a vacation in Ukraine. Clean long sandy beach makes this place especially attractive. And a big variety of excursion programs won’t let you get bored.

Kite flying on the beach is a separate type of activity. We really enjoyed it.

The sunsets in Zatoka are incredible!

More details about the Ukrainian beach resort Zatoka you can find on our website: worldwithatwist.com, link in the description below.

The TUNNEL OF LOVE in UKRAINE || How to get to the Tunnel of Love + why you should stay in RIVNE

We went to the Tunnel of Love in Ukraine! The Tunnel of Love, a narrow freight railway that has formed a natural 'tunnel' in the forest, is one of Ukraine's most photogenic spots. It's located in the town of Klevan, about 350 km west of Kyiv. We stayed in Rivne (as it's bigger than Klevan) and took a marshrutka (minibus) to the tunnel. In this video, I'll show you have to get to the Tunnel of Love from Rivne, do a mini tour of the tunnel, and show you a few good reasons why you should do all of Rivne as a weekend trip from Kyiv. We're talking craft beer, a Harry Potter themed cafe, and local culture!

Vilkovo - Winter Visit - Holiday Ukraine ➕SUBSCRIBE for new videos ????

Vilkovo was formed in the middle of the 18th century, when the Old Believers, and later the Don and Zaporizhzhya Cossacks, began to hide in the Danube floodplains. Settled on the islands formed by the arms (mouths) of the Danube: Belgorod, Ochakov, Ankudinov and Starostambul. To have more or less solid ground underfoot, the islands were dug through canals, the water level dropped, and a place for farming appeared. To this day, houses are built of reeds coated with clay - the homes are elegant, warm and light, heated mainly by firewood. Periodically, buildings are raised, the foundation is built and put back. Stables are filled with shell rock.

Vilkovo - a city on the water - quince Population lives in poverty. The main occupations are fishing, growing early, very large strawberries, pears, apples, and grapes of the local variety Novak. Recently, a new industry has appeared - in winter, reeds are harvested for export, which is very strong in the floodplains, because in Europe, roofs made of environmentally friendly materials have become fashionable.

Tourists are usually offered a trip to the so-called zero kilometer, one of the mouths where the Danube flows into the Black Sea. Locals say with a smile that the 0 km sign has been moved towards the sea several times, because the river causes a lot of land every year, extending the islands. Another local highlight - the length of the year is calculated from the source, only the Danube is measured from the mouth.

The entire territory of wetlands around the town belongs to the Danube Biosphere Reserve - the habitat of waterfowl and waterfowl. There are 950 species of plants, many of which are endemic, and 66 are rare; animals numbered more than 5 thousand species; insects - up to 4.5 thousand species; 10 species of amphibians, in some places there are 10-20 thousand individuals per hectare. And the main expanse is for more than 250 species of birds. You can see up close flocks of pink pelicans - up to a thousand individuals, but especially beautiful - curly pelican. Each of them eats more than a kilogram of fish every day. And when a flock of these riboids flies overhead - the feeling of getting into the park of the Jurassic period. All species of fish included in the European Red List are found in the waters of the reserve: thorn, Atlantic sturgeon, Black Sea and Danube salmon, etc.
