BEAUTIFUL PALACE IN MOSCOW /// ARKHANGELSKOYE
Moscow, Russia is very rich in history and culture, so there are lots of amazing places to see. One of the must-visit attractions is Arkhangelskoye Palace - a beautiful historical estate located 10 minutes drive from Moscow. This is a very popular spot for locals to spend their weekends and an extremely popular location for weddings and events. This estate has recently been renovated and it was preserved in great condition, so people can enjoy its architecture and landscapes in full glory.
The history of Arkhangelskoye starts as early as 1537 but the most prosperous period of its history was in the 19th century when the Yusupov family purchased it. They invited famous architects and made Arhangelskoye so-called 'Versaille of Moscow'. Since then, Arkhangelskoye is the place that attracts people from all over the globe. It is now a museum with a great collection of art, porcelain, carriages and other items from previous centuries. There is also a sanatorium that was created on the property in the Soviet era representing the fundamental architecture of that period.
Arkhangelskoye is a public park and museum. There is an entry fee and different tours options available. Make sure to check their working hours as they are not open every day. Unfortunately, their website is in Russian only, but there is info on Google and Tripadvisor to help you plan your visit.

As we decided to move to Russia, we chose to board the transsiberian from Moscow, and visit as many cities as possible before we decide where we want to settle down.

Volokolamsk Kremlin - an architectural ensemble in Volokolamsk, a monument of culture, history and architecture.
The Resurrection Cathedral is a one-domed four-column church built of white stone at the end of the 15th century. From the 17th century, the upper part of the cathedral was rebuilt several times. The last significant change occurred in 1899, when the facade of the southern side was changed and the side-altar was added [3]. The cathedral was closed in 1930. In the 1960s, it was restored, however, worship was resumed only in the early 1990s.
Nikolsky Cathedral was built in 1853-1862. and is dedicated to the memory of those killed in the Crimean War [4]. Today, the temple houses the funds of the Volokolamsk Historical and Architectural Museum [5].
The five-tier bell tower was built from the 18th century, but it was significantly rebuilt twice, the last time in the 19th century.
In the 1880s the carved fence of the cathedral complex with decorative corner towers was completed. At the beginning of the 20th century, the fence was slightly modified.
In 1988-1990. On the eastern side of the shaft, an archaeological expedition of Moscow State University found traces of a wooden covering - the Kremlin’s fence.

Povarskaya Street (Russian: Поварская улица), known from 1924–1991 as Vorovsky Street (улица Воровского), is a radial street in the center of Moscow, Russia, connecting Arbat Square on Boulevard Ring with Kudrinskaya Square on the Garden Ring. It is known informally as Moscow's Embassy Row, and is home to the finest mansions built in the 1890s and 1900s. Povarskaya Street also houses the Supreme Court of Russia and the Gnessin State Musical College.
Most of Povarskaya Street lies in the Arbat District; its northern side near Kudrinskaya Square is administered by the Presnensky District.
Povarskaya Street follows the track of an ancient road from Moscow to Volokolamsk. In the 1570s Ivan Grozny allocated the street to oprichnina (private royal domain) and the street was taken over by his associates. In the 17th century, however, its upper-class population was diluted by lower classes. The street owes its name to cooks (povara) of the 17th century Muscovite court. Nearby lanes are also named after various court servants: bakers (Khlebny Lane), tablecloth weavers (Skatertny Lane), etc.
When Peter I established his new capital city in Saint Petersburg, this court sloboda depopulated, and the street was re-settled by nobles again, housing families including Gagarin, Golitsyn, Suvorov and the court of Peter's sister, princess Natalya Alexeevna (1673–1716). The street has retained its upper-class, exclusive role since that time. It is unusually quiet for downtown Moscow - with the exception of music from the Gnesin Institute windows, there are no retail shops, no office blocks and no public transport.
In the late 1890s, real estate developer Jacob Reck consolidated two blocks in the middle of Povarskaya and commissioned prestigious Moscow architects Lev Kekushev and Roman Klein to design exclusive single-family mansions. These buildings, occupied by foreign embassies, are a showcase of Moscow Art Nouveau style.
