Le quartier de Lyon Confluence compte 12 000 habitants en 2020.
Il est situé au confluent du Rhône et de la Saône depuis sa construction au 18e siècle et appartient au 2 ème arrondissement de Lyon.
Le quartier de Confluence est l'une des parties les plus importantes du centre historique de Lyon, et c’est un quartier chic et dynamique mêlant loisirs, activités portuaires, industrielles et architecture contemporaine.
Pour information le 2ème arrondissement de Lyon possède aussi les rues ou l’immobilier est le plus cher de Lyon égalé avec le 6éme arrondissement en 2022.
Dans ce reportage je vais vous faire découvrir les 10 choses essentiels à voir et à faire à Lyon Confluence et proximité.
Visiter le musée des Confluences :
Le musée des Confluences est un musée d'histoire naturelle, d'anthropologie, des sociétés et des civilisations.
Voir les quais Rambaud
Vous pourrez parcourir les Quais Rambaud pour avoir une vue somptueuse sur la Saone, ainsi que sur les Quais Jean Jacques Rousseau se trouvant sur la commune de la Mulatière.
Les Quais Rambaud sont aussi très connus des Lyonnais pour sortir dans les lieux festif et chic de Lyon confluence, et pour prendre les bateaux de promenade, de croisière ou de restauration.
Voir et visiter le centre commercial de Lyon Confluence
En étant de l’intérieur, si vous vous dirigez vers les terrasses du centre commercial, vous pourrez avoir une vue incroyable sur le port de confluence appelé port de la Saone.
Sortir dans les lieux festifs et réputés de Lyon Confluence.
Pour faire la fête vous pourrez sortir sur les quais Rambaud, et aller dans ces lieux réputés que je connais personnellement et qui sont :

Ce lieu chic propose une grande terrasse avec restauration méditerranéen ainsi qu’une boite de nuit

Celui-ci organise des programmations culturelles en rooftop avec de la musique électronique, arts visuels et numériques.

Visiter L’Aquarium de Lyon
Celui est situé à 5min de Confluence dans la commune de la Mulatière.
Visiter le Pont Raymond barre
Situé à côté du musée de Confluence, c’est un pont réservé aux transports en modes doux reliant le sud de Confluence à Gerland. Vous aurez l’occasion d’y admirer une vue incroyable sur le Confluent du Rhône et de la Saône.
Aller au Parc de Gerland
Situé lui aussi à proximité du musée de Confluence, et dans l’arrondissement voisin,
ce parc en bord de fleuve offre des pelouses où il est possible de pique-niquer et jouer, avec des massifs de fleurs en saison, un skate-park, des activités sportives, jeux pour enfants, et une piscine éphémère en été .

Lyon, also written Lyons in English, is the third largest city in France and centre of the second largest metropolitan area in the country. It is the capital of the Rhone-Alpes region and the Rhône département. It is known as a gastronomic and historical city with a vibrant cultural scene. It is also the birthplace of cinema.
Founded by the Romans, with many preserved historical areas, Lyon is the archetype of the heritage city, as recognised by UNESCO. Lyon is a vibrant metropolis which makes the most out of its unique architectural, cultural and gastronomic heritage, its dynamic demographics and economy and its strategic location between Northern and Southern Europe. It is more and more open to the world, with an increasing number of students and international events.
The Rhône and Saône converge to the south of the historic city centre, forming a peninsula – the Presqu'île – bounded by two large hills to the west and north and a large plain eastward. Place Bellecour is located on the Presqu'île between the two rivers and is the third-largest public square in France. The broad, pedestrian-only Rue de la République leads north from Place Bellecour.
The northern hill is La Croix-Rousse, known as the hill that works because it is traditionally home to many small silk workshops, an industry for which the city has long been renowned. The western hill is the Fourvière, known as the hill that prays because it is the location for the basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, several convents, and the residence of the Archbishop. The district, Vieux Lyon, also hosts the Tour métallique (a highly visible TV tower, replicating the last stage of the Eiffel Tower) and one of the city's funicular railways. Fourvière, along with portions of the Presqu'île and much of La Croix-Rousse, is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
East of the Rhône from the Presqu'île is a large flat area upon which sits much of modern Lyon and contains most of the city's population. Situated in this area is the urban centre of La Part-Dieu which clusters the landmark structures Tour Part-Dieu, Tour Oxygène, and Tour Swiss Life, as well as the city's primary railway station, Gare de Lyon-Part-Dieu. North of this district is the sixth arrondissement, which is home to one of Europe's largest urban parks, the Parc de la Tête d'or, as well as Lycée du Parc and Interpol's world headquarters.
The city centre is not so big and most attractions can be reached from each other on foot. The walk from Place des Terreaux to Place Bellecour, for example, is about 20 min. The rule of thumb is that metro stations are generally about 10 min walk apart. Be careful when crossing major axes: traffic is dense and running red lights is a very popular sport.

Lyon, the capital city in France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, sits at the junction of the Rhône and Saône rivers. Its center reflects 2,000 years of history from the Roman Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules, medieval and Renaissance architecture in Vieux (Old) Lyon, to the modern Confluence district on Presqu'île peninsula. Traboules, covered passageways between buildings, connect Vieux Lyon and La Croix-Rousse hill.
Commanding a strategic spot at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône Rivers, Lyon has been luring people ever since the Romans named it Lugdunum in 43 BC. Lyon is shaped by its two rivers, the Rhône River (to the East) and the Saône (to the West), which both run North-South. The main areas of interest are:
Fourvière hill
Also known as the hill that prays due to the numerous churches and religious institutions it hosts. The hill was also the place where the Romans settled.
Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon)
The Renaissance area, along the right bank of the Saône.
Presqu'île
Between the two rivers, the real heart of the city.
Croix-Rousse
North of Presqu'île between the two rivers, it is known as the hill that works because it was home to the silk workers (canuts) until the 19th century. This industry has shaped the unique architecture of the area.
Confluence
An emerging district with great contemporary architecture in a former industrial area.
Part-Dieu
The main business district and home to the main train station of Lyon.
Brotteaux
The wealthiest district, next to the beautiful Tête d'Or park.
Guillotière
A picturesque district with a large immigrant population.
Etats-Unis
An interesting 1920s housing project.
Vaise
Another developing district.
Whatever the time of year (except for the Fête des Lumières), tourists are not very numerous yet, but they concentrate in a few small areas, especially Fourvière and Vieux Lyon, where the pedestrian streets are just as crowded as the Champs-Elysees sidewalks on sunny weekends. Alot to see such as :

LYON, FRANCE ???????? The Gastronomic Capital of the World!
When you come to France, don't miss out on visiting Lyon!
The city is just 2.5 hours south of Paris by train, and is the culinary capital of France! In fact, in 1935 the original Michelin food critic, Curnonsky, called Lyon the gastronomic capital of the world back in 1935 and the reputation continues today.
Lyon boasts plenty of local specialties, and though we couldn't try everything, we did our darndest!
We highly recommend eating in bouchons, a type of restaurant found in Lyon that serves traditional Lyonnaise cuisine. Some of our favorites were quenelles, any dessert with pink pralines, and local wines.

Place Bellecour – the red square of Lyon
Place Bellecour has room.
It’s the largest pedestrian square in Europe. So whether you want to get to the Tourist Information centre inside, join a march, jump on the big wheel, or just simply sit, this oversized square reinvigorates the lungs and stretches the horizons.
Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, between the Saône and the Rhône in the 2nd district of Lyon, Place Bellecour in a gigantic dusty red square right in the middle of the city centre, just north of the Ainay district.
As the central focus of shopping on the presqu’île and the chosen starting point for most city visits, Bellecour is the kilometre 0 of Lyon and all distances are calculated from it. Four major streets start from this famous square: rue de la République, which takes you up to Hôtel de Ville and the Opera; rue Victor Hugo and rue du Plat both leading to Perrache; and rue du Président Édouard Herriot, with a concentration of luxury shops all the way to the Place des Terreaux.
The Vieux Lyon district and the Lyon Cathedral face the square over the river Saône, and high up is Fourvière, looking down on us all.
Surrounded by linden trees, wild cherries and beautiful Napoleonic buildings, Place Bellecour is the third largest square in France after Place des Quinconces in Bordeaux and Place de la Concorde in Paris, measuring 312m by 200m, not to mention the biggest pedestrian square in the whole of Europe. Fact.
In its centre is a much-loved statue of Louis XIV on horseback where locals meet, protesters parade and tourists learn a little history. Another statue, representing the Little Prince and the famous Lyonnais Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, is to be found in the south-west part of the square, created in 2000 to mark one hundred years since the writer’s birth.
