Calle Crisologo
Calle Crisologo or Mena Crisologo street is a major attraction of Vigan because of the cobblestone pavements and Spanish houses were the affluent people lived during the Spanish era.
The street is part of Vigan’s picturesque Heritage Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Calle Crisologo can be explored either on foot or through a kalesa (horse-drawn carriage) ride.
Kalesa Parade
In celebration to Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts 2022 Kalesa/s became the star of the day. Each with decorated beautifully and people showcased their creativity and skill on arts mainly depicting the rich culture and heritage of Vigan.
Leonor
Leona Florentino was a famous Ilocana poet, satirist and playwright. She left a legacy to the Filipino people as the most outstanding woman writer during the Spanish era.

Dubbed as the Home of The Big Cats in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, they take pride in their Bengal Tigers, White Lions, Leopards, among other kinds of animals, even those that are endemic to the Philippines.

Plaza Burgos
Plaza Burgos was built to remember the martyrdom of Father Jose P. Burgos, one of Vigan’s illustrious sons put to death by the Spaniards.
Plaza Salcedo
Plaza Salcedo, named after the Spanish conqueror, Juan de Salcedo who subdued the early native settlement in Vigan and established upon it Villa Fernandina for the monarchs of Spain in 1572. With this, Juan de Salcedo founded the third of many Hispanic settlements in the Philippines.
Ruby Jar Factory
Ruby Jar Factory, erected in 1922 has been a popular tourist destination in Vigan City who wants to see and experience the art of pottery. Burnay jars consists of sand, water and clay.
Loom Weaving
Rowilda’s Loom Weaving is situated at Brgy. Camangaan, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. One of the most popular and visited looming factory in town. Established and operated in 1989, the handwoven textile “inabel,” commonly referred to many as “Abel Iloko” or simply “abel” is a form of weaving tradition native to the Ilocano people of Northern Luzon in the Philippines.

Vigan Cathedral also known as Metropolitan Cathedral of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle situated at the heart of Vigan City.
Crisologo Museum
Crisologo Museum is an ancestral mansion turned into a museum by the Crisologos. The museum showcases antiques, memorabilia, local implements, as well as history-rich collections of the family. Floro S. Crisologo is a well known congressman and head of the Crisologo family who ruled in Vigan in the 1970s. He authored some laws that created the University of Northern Philippines and the establishment of the Social Security System that helped millions of Filipinos today.

Vigan City Ilocos Sur - The Most Preserved Heritage Town in the Philippines | Walking Tour | 4K HDR
Go back in time with the Heritage Village of Vigan City, Ilocos Sur!
Vigan City was founded in 1572 by the Spanish conquistador Juan de Salcedo, a grandson of Miguel López de Legazpi, who was the first Governor-General of the Spanish East Indies. Salcedo established the settlement along the banks of the Govantes River and named it Villa Fernandina in honor of King Ferdinand II of Spain.
Under Spanish rule, Vigan City flourished as a center of trade and commerce. It became a vital link in the galleon trade route, connecting Manila, the capital of the Spanish Philippines, to the port of Acapulco in Mexico. The city became a melting pot of various cultures and attracted merchants from China, Spain, Mexico, and other parts of Asia.
The most commonly known source of the city's name is the Biga'a plant, which once grew abundantly along the banks of the Mestizo River, from which Captain Juan de Salcedo derived the city's name (after a misunderstanding with the locals, thinking he was asking the name of the plants).
In 1999, Vigan City was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture. The UNESCO recognition highlighted the city's exceptional value and the need to protect and preserve its cultural heritage for future generations.

Enjoy this tour in the Historic City of Vigan in Ilocos Sur, Philippines. The entire city of Vigan was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as it is one of the few Spanish colonial towns left in the country. In fact, the city was also noted for being one of the best-preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in the entire Asia.
Vigan City can be reached both by air and land. It will take more than 8 hours away from Metro Manila by bus but you can get there in around 6 hours through your private car.
Unfortunately we visited on a Monday when museums are closed so we won't be able to take you inside the museums but the rest of the attractions including the parks and historical churches are open everyday.

#Vigan, officially the City of Vigan - is a 4th class component city and capital of the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines.
Located on the western coast of the large island of Luzon, facing the South China Sea, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is one of the few Spanish colonial towns left in the Philippines whose old structures have mostly remained intact.

1. Baluarte Resort and Mini Zoo - Baluarte Zoo is a zoological park in Vigan, Ilocos Sur Philippines. It is owned by Chavit Singson.
2. Hidden Garden - This garden restaurant is a must-visit place in Ilocos Sur. They offer the best Ilocos cuisine and the garden is a perfect place to roam.
3. Banaoang Bridge - The scenic Old Quirino Bridge, also called Banaoang Bridge, is an old Parker-type (camelback) bridge named after the late former Philippine President Elpidio Quirino, who hails from Vigan.
4. Saint Augustine Parish Church - The Saint Augustine Parish Church, commonly known as Bantay Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Bantay, Ilocos Sur in the Philippines.
5. Bantay Church Bell Tower - Bantay - One of Vigan’s most iconic symbols is the Bantay Bell Tower. First built in 1591, it served as the town’s watchtower before being turned into a bell tower by the nearby church in 1857.
6. Plaza Burgos - This bustling town plaza features a monument to Father Jose P. Burgos, plus food kiosks.
