VINALES travel guide! Things to do in Vinales Cuba. Coffee & tobacco farm, horse riding, cave tour
This is a description of my trip to Viñales, Cuba. Hope it helps you plan your time in Vinales as its a beautiful place and there are many things to do.

Travel details
I took a taxi collectivo from Havana to Viñales. It took 2.5 hours and cost 25 CUC per person. I booked this through the casa I was staying at in Havana.
I travelled to Trinidad after Vinales via the Viazul tourist bus The journey takes about 9 hours. I would recommend you avoid eating at the service stations and bring food/snacks with you if possible.

Hotel Horizontes Los Jazmines
Zipline canopy tour El Fortin. Entry is 8 CUC.
Excursion to Cayo Jutias beach cost 15 CUC per person and I booked it through the Info tours office in Viñales. Journey time is 1.5 hours.
Art and Craft Market is located next door to 3j's tapas
Tour to Finca Randon el Arado
Costs 15 CUC and includes a tour of farm and horse riding. I booked this through the casa.
Cuevas De Santo Tomas.
This cave is half an hour taxi ride away and entry is 15 CUC. The climb is quite steep so wear good walking shoes/trainers. The tour lasts about 90 minutes
The Cueva del Indio is another cave near Viñales. It costs 5CUC to enter. It is a short walk in the cave and a boat ride which lasts about 20 minutes.
Restaurants
3Js bar de Tapas was my favourite restaurant in Viñales. The food and drink were delicious. I highly recommend the Piña colada!
Finca Agroecologica El Paraiso is a farm and restaurant. It’s best to get a taxi there as it is quite a distance from the town. It is a set menu of soup, different meats and fish served with vegetables and salad. It costs 15 CUC per person.

A Day In Vinales, Cuba
When we decided to visit Havana in Cuba, we knew we'd have to pop into Vinales as well. It's one of the places we knew well in advance of actually arriving in Cuba that we'd have to explore. For the uninitiated, Vinales is in the Cuban countryside and is definitely a different experience to being in Havana. We didn't actually make any plans in advance to visit - we waited till we got there and got someone at our Casa to help us arrange for a driver and a tour guide for the day to around Vinales. (The tour guide spoke English - our driver didn't ergo why we needed two people). Anyway, here's what we got up to in Vinales, Cuba.

This is the fourth episode of our trip to Cuba, which we visited in September 2022.
This video takes you to the countryside of Cuba all the way to the Cuban tobacco and coffee paradise, Viñales valley. We took a 4h drive from Havana to get to Viñales, driving through some bumpy roads.
We enjoyed one of the many outdoor activities you can do there Horseback riding, one of many ways you can witness the natural beauty of this location.
We tasted local organic coffee, and rum tried the famous Cuban cigars made locally, and ended our day with some very fresh and tasty Cuban homemade dinner.
We take you to explore Cuba’s cultural and natural riches, social, friendly (sometimes too friendly!), and some of the kindest people we’ve ever met. We will post articles with our detailed itinerary, so you can get inspired to plan your trip there.

Travelling Around Viñales, Cuba
Viñales was probably our favourite place in all of Cuba. The tobacco plantations, the limestone karsts, the nearby beaches and the hospitable people all added up for one amazing travel experience. Check out this video and see why we loved it so much!

Vinales Bus Tour | What to do in Viñales | Viñales | Cuba
Our next stop after a one day visit to Havana was to the town of Vinales. This is the western most town in the country and is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If you are wondering what to do in Vinales, Cuba, consider buying a bus pass. These buses are specifically designed for the tourist in mind as it makes a continual loop to the most famous tourist attractions in the area.
Although we don't typically like these tours, this Vinales bus tour was worth the money. Not only did you get to see the best attractions, but the ride itself was amazing.

Viñales, Cuba was one of my favourite places to shoot photography in the whole country. There was just such a great diversity of images to be had in Viñales. The landscapes were stunning, the farm life was cool, and the people were extremely open to being photographed. All-in-all, it made the town and extremely place to be as a travel photographer. In fact, looking back at my experience around Cuba, it's quite possible that Viñales was my favourite place. I'd gladly go back and photograph it again. Yes, town is a little bit touristy, but it's also fantastic and a definite add to your travel itinerary in Cuba, if you ask me.

Don't fall for tourist traps in Cuba! This is the REAL Tour of Viñales Valley! Most of the tours in Viñales Valley are set up for tourists. There are places at farms that are set up just for groups of tourists to visit over and over. The farms we visit in this video are authentic and off the beaten path of the tourist trail in Viñales Valley!
