Beautiful Morges Switzerland | The 'City of Flowers' on Lake Geneva
Join us for a walk through Morges Switzerland.
It's one of the prettiest lakeside cities on Lake Geneva. The 'City of Flowers' exudes an old world charm.
The long quay directly on the lake from the marina all the way to the Parc de Vertou at the east end of Morges is dedicated to the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky who lived here with his family between 1915 and 1917 in a stately villa close by the lake, now transformed into a beautiful high-end B&B, the Maison d'Igor.
We visited the museum where we had a guided tour and learned all about the Swiss army Mercenaries and their service in foreign countries. They literally helped to shape history.

Vineyard Veronique Günther-Chereau and Château du Coing - France 4K Travel Channel
Chateau du Côing lies at the confluence of Sèvre Nantaise and Maine in the village of Saint Fiacre, not far from the city of Nantes. The castle owes its name to this location, because Côing is the old french word for corner (French: Coin). Already since 1421 , the family of the present owner Véronique Günther-Chéreau cultivates wine in Saint Fiacre. Aurore, the daughter of Véronique, graduated in oenologie and joined the winery in 2010.
At the jetty in front of the castle, the Günther Chéreau, our host personally greets us and gives an overview of the estate. Next to the castle we see the house Bibard, named after the former chief of the staff, Monsieur Bibard, with a pigeon tower. The buildings are typical for the Italian style in the region around Clisson. In the front part of the house Bibard was the original bakery, providing the castle and the adjacent village with bread.
Concerning the history of the castle, Günther Chéreau tells us that the historical estate existed already in the Middle Ages. Two descendants of the builders were beheaded after the French revolution. The rest of the family left the country and the ownership of the castle went to the state. Completely neglected, it was rebuilt in 1810 under Charles X.
In 1973, the father of the present owner Véronique Günther-Chéreau purchased it. Extensive renovation measures are taking place at the moment to create accommodations in the castle and in the House of Bibard .
In the vineyard and in the following visit of the cellar we learn more about the wine production.

Château du Côing liegt unweit der Stadt Nantes, im kleinen Ort Saint-Fiacre, am Zusammenfluss von Sèvre Nantaise und Maine. Dieser Lage verdankt das Schloss seinen Namen, denn Côing ist das alte Wort für Ecke (frz. Coin). Die Familie der jetzigen Eigentümerin des Weingutes, Véronique Günther-Chéreau, baut bereits seit 1421 Wein in Saint-Fiacre an. Seit 2010, ist Veronicas Tochter Aurore, eine Dipl.-Önologin, ebenfalls an diesem Unternehmen beteiligt.
Am Anlegesteg vor dem Schloss empfängt uns der Hausherr Günther Chéreau persönlich und erklärte uns das Anwesen. Neben dem Schloss steht das Haus Bibard, benannt nach dem damaligen Chef der Bediensteten Monsieur Bibard, mit einem Taubenturm. Die Gebäude sind typisch für den italienischen Stil in der Region um Clisson. Im vorderen Teil gab es eine Bäckerei, in der das Brot für das Schloss und die angrenzende Ortschaft gebacken wurde.
Auch zur Geschichte wusste Günther Chéreau einiges zu erzählen. Das historische Anwesen existierte bereits im Mittelalter. Zwei Nachfahren der Erbauer landeten nach der Französischen Revolution unter der Guillotine. Der Rest der Familie verließ das Land und das Schloss ging an den Staat über. Völlig verwahrlost wurde es 1810 unter Charles X. wieder aufgebaut.
1973 erwarb es der Vater der jetzigen Besitzerin und Eigentümerin Véronique Günther-Chéreau. Zur Zeit finden umfangreiche Renovierungsmaßnahmen statt, um später Unterkunftsmöglichkeiten im Schloß und im Haus Bibard zu schaffen.

Les Boîtes à Vélo, based in Nantes, France is a unique collective of 24 businesses that in 2012 decided to ditch their gas-guzzling delivery vans in favour of something far more clean and healthy: a bicycle with a box attached to it. The ‘bicycle boxes’ enable flexible and fast delivery, while members of the collective, from couriers to caterers, support each other by acting as a cross-referral network. So far Les Boîtes à Vélo has taken 21 trade vehicles off the streets of Nantes, helping demonstrate the true potential of cycling in the city. And with their businesses growing, the collective is also taking its message to other towns and cities in France.
Belgium peer-to-peer car hire network, Tapazz, and French bicycle collective, Les Boîtes à Vélo, have beaten off strong competition from sustainable travel initiatives across the UK, France and Belgium to win the 2015 Eurostar Ashden Awards for Sustainable Travel.
The two winners were chosen for their innovative sustainable travel projects, and will share £30,000 in prize money to invest in their schemes and expand in other networks.

#38, à la quête de bons spot camping car à coté de Nantes
Bonjour,
J'inaugure avec cette vidéo une nouvelle série de vlog sur les bons spots camping car ou van dans le pays Nantais. Dans ce premier épisode, je pars du vignoble pour aller chercher mon pote Alain (un abonné de la chaine) et ensuite partir avec lui du coté de Sucé sur Erdre, à 20/30 km de Nantes et passer la soirée sur un méga spot au bord de l'eau. Je vais ensuite pas très loin de chez moi entre Vertou et St Fiacre vous montrer un autre super spot pour passer la nuit relax si vous venez visiter Nantes et ses environs.

Goulaine is a fort dating from the Middle Ages and following the affiliation of Brittany and France, was reconstructed with ‘tuffeau’ rock in “Renaissance” style. While building work was finished in the 17th century, the principal floor dates back to the 15th century and the Renaissance and the oldest parts date back to the Middle Ages. Built from chalk stone (Tufa stone), “Goulaine” lives on as an example of the opulence that once reigned in this “Valley of the Kings”. The Château de Goulaine is a former castle, now a château, in the Loire Valley located near Nantes, France. This castle has been home to the family of the marquis de Goulaine for over a thousand years. Château de Goulaine is also the estate-bottled wine produced at the château.
In the 12th century, when the Duchy of Brittany was independent, the first Goulaine, Jean de Goulaine, then captain of the city of Nantes, fortified the estate, which is still surrounded by marshes, to defend against attacks from Normans. The Goulaine were of the old nobility, recorded in the Seventh Crusade (1248). During the Wars of Religion, the Goulaine fought for the Catholic League: Gabriel, sieur de Goulaine, at the head of fifty lancers, and his brother Jean, baron du Faouët, took the châteaux of Trogoff (Plouescat) and of Kérouzéré (Sibiril) in 1590. Gabriel was attached to the Bourbon cause in being made a marquis by Henry IV of France. The Goulaine family ownership of the estate continued uninterrupted until 1788 when it was sold to a Dutch banker. This circumstance helped save the château from destruction during the French Revolution. In 1858, a member of the Goulaine family reacquired the estate and maintains it today.
Today the style of the château, under its high pitched slate roofs bears some comparison to the central Loire estates of Château de Blois and Château de Chambord, though Château de Goulaine was built much earlier and in a more conservative style.

Neolithic markings in the native stone and an unusual concentration of megalithic dolmens and menhirs attest to the islands early sanctity.[1] Whether or not its inhabitants were evangelised at the beginning of the fourth century by Martin of Vertou and Saint Hilaire, Irish monks from Bangor dedicated their monastery on the Île dYeu to Hilaire; Saint Amand, from Poitou received early training there, but it was destroyed by Viking raiders in the ninth century.
During the tenth century, monks from Marmoutier near Tours and monks of Saint-Cyprien at Poitiers built a new monastery and dedicated it to Saint Stephen. The castle built on an islet linked to the coast by a bridge is first mentioned in 1356.
Since the nineteenth century Île dYeu has attracted many artists, such as Jean Rigaud (1912--1999), official painter to the French Navy, who had a house there, and his friend Maurice Boitel (1919--2007)
The islands seaweeds have been the subject of studies by the French marine biologist Françoise Ardré.
Administratively, the commune of LÎle-dYeu (with that spelling) forms part of the Vendée department and the Pays de la Loire region of France.
The island is reached by ferry from Fromentine or Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie.is an island and commune just off the Vendée coast of western France.
