Een dikke week geleden ben ik de 500 abonnees op mijn kanaal gepasseerd, geweldig! Dank aan iedere abonnee, iedereen die wel eens of erg vaak reageert op mijn filmpjes, het wordt enorm gewaardeerd.

De mooiste wandelingen van Nederland deel 1
Iedere maand één wandeling in een andere provincie, mijn uitdaging voor 2022. Doel is natuurlijk wel dat ik de mooiste wandeling per provincie loop.
De eerste helft van het jaar zit erop. In deze video laat ik de mooiste wandelingen zien van Noord-Holland, Utrecht, Gelderland, Zuid-Holland, Limburg en Groningen.
Neem het alsjeblieft niet al te serieus, smaken verschillen nu eenmaal en bij iedere provincie zijn misschien wel drie net zo mooie alternatieven te noemen.

The Dark Side of Living in The Netherlands
What are the downsides of living in the Netherlands? There is a wide variety of advantages that come along with relocating to the Netherlands. The Netherlands is a country that has a lot to offer everybody, whether they are searching for a higher standard of life, more work prospects, or a location to live that is cheaper. Let's not sugarcoat things and have an honest conversation about some of the challenges you could face if you decide to relocate to the Netherlands.
1. It’s an expensive country
The Netherlands is well-known for having some of the highest tax rates in the world, and almost everything is subject to taxation. The income tax is particularly high in contrast to those of other countries in Europe. You could also discover that the prices of electronic goods are higher in the Netherlands (here's a pro tip: shop on the German Amazon), and that the prices of some foods are also a little bit more. On the other hand, it is possible to acquire some excellent prices if you have learned how to shop and where to shop. The relationship between supply and demand is to blame for the typically high cost of rent throughout the whole of the United States. Jobs, in general, pay very well here; yet, in the end, it all comes down to how you look at it.
2. You have to learn a new language
Even though most Dutch people are aware of this fact, conversational English is not sufficient. You are going to need to educate yourself in Dutch since the majority of the labels, notices, goods, and parcels are all in Dutch. You are going to have to utilize Google Translate whenever you go to public locations like the grocery or railway stations until you master the local language.
It is well known that the service sector in the Netherlands is notorious for being less helpful and more difficult to navigate than in other nations. Even if someone has been downright impolite to us extremely seldom, the Dutch aren't exactly famed for their ability to provide good customer service.
You are either going to have to wait an eternity to speak to the manager, you are going to be in a line of 25 people on the phone, or you are going to have to wait weeks for a response to an email. Not to mention the level of frustration that a good number of individuals experience whenever they are confronted with tasks such as receiving mail or shipments.
3. Accommodation
Insane housing shortages are plaguing the Netherlands at the moment. As a result, it is essential to do apartment hunting in advance of relocating to this location for permanent residence. There are both furnished and unfurnished apartments available to choose. The furnished homes come with very huge rent prices. When you rent a property that isn't equipped, you may think you're getting a good deal, but in reality, you have to buy everything, even rugs and appliances that are necessary. In addition, property owners are reaping the benefits of the housing shortage by charging their renters unreasonable prices.
Due to the unfortunate state of affairs in the housing market in the Netherlands, it is essential that you begin your search for a new place to call home at the earliest possible date. Bear in mind that there are no assurances that you will locate a location right away; yet, you should not give up hope!
If you want to live in Amsterdam or one of the other cities in the Randstad, you need be extremely patient in your hunt for a new house, and you should prepare for a little bit of more wiggle space in your budget.

Arnhem is a city and municipality in the Netherlands and the capital of the province of Gelderland. The municipality has 164,096 inhabitants, making it the twelfth municipality in the Netherlands. It has a total area of 101.54 km², of which 97.82 km² is land and 3.72 km² is water (January 31, 2022).
In addition to the city of Arnhem, the municipality of Arnhem also includes the villages of Elden and Schaarsbergen, the hamlets of De Praets and 't Vlot, and parts of the hamlets of Terlet and Deelen. Arnhem is part of the Arnhem Nijmegen City Region partnership.
Arnhem is located on the river Nederrijn, the IJssel and the Sint-Jansbeek. The city lies on both sides of the Lower Rhine (also called Rhine for short). Especially the southern part of the city developed on a large scale after the Second World War. The city is internationally known for the Battle of Arnhem: in the Second World War, Arnhem played an important role because of the airborne landing and battle of the allied troops in September 1944, as part of Operation Market Garden. In various places in the city, monuments mark the places where fierce fighting took place during the war.
The Gelderland court and the Arnhem-Leeuwarden court are located in the city, and it is the base of the national military chamber and the airmobile brigade. In addition, the city is home to a number of national and international sights, including the Dutch Open Air Museum and Koninklijke Burgers' Zoo.
The name Arnhem is said to be derived from Arn or Aro - from the Germanic arnu (eagle) - and heem (home).
The name Arneym is first mentioned in 893 in a property register of the Abbey of Prüm. Earlier, around 814, a written mention was made of Meginhardeswich; this is the current Meijnerswijk in Arnhem-South. The city was sacked by the Vikings in 847.
In the Arnhem accent, the city is called Èrnem. The Arnhem dialect (Ernems) differs greatly from other South Gelderland dialects due to The Hague influences: in the second half of the 18th century wealthy residents of The Hague moved to country houses in the woods around Arnhem. The Hague accent was adopted by the local Arnhem population because this accent provided status. Today, the accent is mainly spoken in working-class neighborhoods such as 't Broek, de Geitenkamp and Klarendal (pronounced klerendoal).
Arnhem also has some nicknames. For example, in the second half of the 19th century, the city was called the 'Haagje of the East'; In Arnhem, just like in The Hague, many former Indies settled in that period. Traders, former officers and sugar and tobacco planters who had become wealthy in the Dutch East Indies built houses along the Velper-, Utrechtse- and Amsterdamseweg. The middle class and cultural life flourished because of their arrival. As a result, Arnhem became a city with an elite appearance.
On 1 January 2022, Arnhem had 163,885 inhabitants, of which approximately 66% are of full Dutch descent and 34% have at least one parent or grandparent who was born abroad.
In terms of population, it is the third largest municipality (after Nijmegen and Apeldoorn) and the second largest city in Gelderland. Groot Arnhem (De Connectie) is a partnership between the municipality of Arnhem, Renkum and Rheden. Due to the collaboration that started in 2017, the municipalities of Renkum and Rheden are becoming increasingly intertwined with Arnhem.
The last groups of entrants did not bring about major changes in segregation. Well-to-do citizens and intelligentsia have traditionally dominated in the Burgemeesterswijk and Hoogkamp, the Singels, Alteveer and Cranevelt, the Spijkerkwartier and, since its construction, the Schuytgraaf district. People with lower incomes per family member can be found in Klarendal, Het Broek, de Geitenkamp, Presikhaaf, Monnikenhuizen and Malburgen, among others. Middle groups have been living in the Elderveld, De Laar, Rijkerswoerd and Vredenburg/Kronenburg since the construction.
The city changes along with its population structure. Former simple neighborhoods with small and poor housing such as Klarendal and Presikhaaf went through a phase of gentrification and now have a socially mixed population.

Twaalf maanden, twaalf provincies, twaalf wandelingen. Van iedere provincie de mooiste wandeling.
De mooiste wandeling van Gelderland is, wat mij betreft, erg moeilijk te bepalen, er is zoveel moois te vinden. Het Dorenweertsepad? N70? Allemaal erg mooi. Ik koos voor NS wandeling Veluwezoom Dieren - Velp.
Op wandelzoekpagina.nl staan de (misschien wel) mooiste bergwandelingen van Nederland. Natuurlijk kent Nederland geen echte bergen, maar op verschillende plekken in ons land kun je je toch uitleven op aardige kuitenbijters. Wandelen door Nationaal Park Veluwezoom staat garant voor pittige hoogtemeters. Op deze tocht moet je 250+ meter overwinnen.

Sneek - Friesland - Fryslân - The Netherlands
Sneek is situated in Southwest-Friesland in the Netherlands, close to the Sneekermeer. Sneek is well known for its canals, the Watergate, symbol of the city, and watersports. Sneek is one of the eleven Frisian cities.
Sneek was founded in the 10th century on a sandy peninsula at the crossing site of a dike with an important waterway, called the Magna Fossa in old documents. This waterway was dug when the former Middelzee silted up. The dike can still be traced in the current street pattern and various street names are a reminder of it.
Sneek received several city rights in the 13th century, which became official in 1456. Sneek was now one of the eleven Frisian cities. This was also the beginning of a period of blooming trade for the city that would last until about 1550. In 1492 construction of a moat and wall around the city began. In those days Sneek was the only walled city in Friesland. The Watergate and the Stronghold remain until today.

A wonderful flight with a Fokker F.VII aircraft, registration number H-NACT over the city of Arnhem in The Netherlands in 1926. This film has been restored and colorized with Artificial Intelligence software.
Arnhem is well known the World-over for in particular its role during WWII. Many viewers will have seen the famous movie A Bridge Too Far with among other Sean Connery and many other stars. The river can be seen in this film, as it was nearly 20 years before the end of WWII.
This original N-HACT was destroyed at Schiphol airport during the German assult at the beginning of WWII. After the war a similar aircraft was bought (from Sweden?) and re-named N-HACT. It can still be seen in the Aviodome museum (to be confirmed).
At the beginning the pilot can be seen smoking a cigarette before getting his aircraft ready for the flight. Subsequently the film shows the old town and views of the bridges over the river Rhine. For more details, check out this time line:

NEDERLAND Wandelroute Beekhuizen Keienberg Veluwezoom bij Velp 4 km van Natuurmonumenten.
Beleef het natuurschoon en de rijke cultuurhistorie van landgoed Beekhuizen. Hoor de vogels zingen en het klaterende geluid van de stromende beek. Dit paradijselijke landschap werd vroeger wel het ‘Gelders Arcadië’ genoemd. Je wandelt door een heuvelachtig landschap naar de Keienberg. Geniet langs de beek van romantische waterpartijen, mooie doorkijkjes en watervallen.
