Ile Maurice
L'île Maurice, (Moris en créole), autrefois l'Isle de France, Mauritius en anglais, est l'île principale de la République de Maurice, située dans le sud-ouest de l'océan Indien, au cœur de l'archipel des Mascareignes entre La Réunion à l'ouest et l'île Rodrigues à l'est. La population s'élève à environ 1,2 million d'habitants et comportent plusieurs communautés, d'origines indiennes, créoles et chinoises. Il existe aussi les mulâtres et les « blancs de l'Ile Maurice » mais ce n'est qu'une minorité de la population, la majorité des mauriciens sont d'origines indiennes (65,8%) et créoles (27,7%) . La capitale de la République de Maurice est Port-Louis, située dans le Nord-Ouest de l'île.
