Jezero Mašica zimi. Prelijepo mjesto za odmor i opuštanje. Pored jezera su dva natkrivena objekta za piknik tako da možete uživati i u kišnim danima. U blizini su pećine (Lukina pećina i pećina Srednja stijena). Također se može napraviti i planinarska šetnja od nekoliko sati do okolnih vrhova (Bakoš, Tvrtkovac...). Nalazi se na ivici Spomenika prirode Tajan na udaljenosti od 12 km od izletišta Kamenica pored Zavidovića .

Masica Lake in winter. Beautiful place for rest and relaxation. There are two picnic shelters near the lake so you can enjoy on the rainy days too. There are caves near the lake (Lukina Cave and Srednja Stijena Cave). You can hike for a few hours to the surrounding peaks (Bakos, Tvrtkovac...). It is located in the border region of Monument of Nature Tajan 12 km near the resorts of Kamenica near Zavidovici.

Jezero Nula (ili jezero Smreka) kod Vareša... Jezero nastalo na kopu bivšeg rudnika željezne rude Smreka. Jezero koriste ribari i kupači. Nalazi se oko 1 km prije Vareša. Od puta koji ide prema Varešu je udaljen nekoliko stotina metara.

(English) Lake Nula (eng. Lake Zero) (or Lake Smreka) near Vares ... The lake was formed at the mine of the former Smreka iron ore mine. The lake is used by fishermen and swimmers. It is located about 1 km before Vares. It is several hundred meters away from the road to Vares.

Lake Nula is located by city called Vareš.
With depth more than 100 meters it's the biggest reservoir of drinkable water in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Created naturally by streams after closing of the steel mine in late 80s.

We almost didn't go (Motorhome tour BOSNIA)
Although a depressing heatwave has evaporated most of our desire for any sightseeing, the icy Buna River renewed our energy for a visit to Mostar. After we found the riverside camping spot in Blagaj and we could leave the van in the shade, we figured taking the local bus to Mostar gave us the flexibility to go as late as possible in the day to avoid some of the heat.
The town of Mostar is one of Bosnia & Herzegovina’s most popular destinations. With cobblestoned streets, old stone buildings, and its beautiful bridge spanning the picturesque Neretva River, this small town attracts thousands of visitors per year. Seeing Stari Most, the Old Bridge, is the highlight of a visit here, but the charm of Mostar extends well past the span of this bridge. In 1468 the region came under control of Ottoman rule. In 1566, under the orders of Suleiman the Magnificent, the wooden bridge was rebuilt in stone, and this famous bridge stood for 427 years. This stone bridge was a masterpiece when it was built and it is said to be one of the most important structures built during the Ottoman era.
Before we departed Blagaj we also HAD to climb the hilltop to the old fort and at the source of the Buna River see the Blagaj Tekija - a Dervish monastery built at the base of a cliff..

Perun - Bosna i Hercegovina - Intermezzo (2023) | Go Bosnia & Herzegovina [4K]
Perun je planina smještena između Vareša i Kraljeve Sutjeske. Njen najvši vrh je Karasovina, koji je sa visinom od 1471 metar ujedno najviši vrh Zeničko-Dobojskog kantona.
Za njegovo ime se vežu razne priče međutim ona najvjerovatnija potiče iz vremena kad su austro-ugari pravili prve topografske karte ovog područja pa ja ime vrha povezano sa tadašnjim zemljovlasnikom i jedan od tadašnjih naziva vrha je bio Karahasanovina. Vremenom, kako su se karte mijenjale i njegovo ime je doživljavalo promjene pa je tako od Karahasanovina preraslo u Karaosovina da bi na kraju ostalo Karasovina. Jednako tako se i njegova visina mijenjala pa u starim kartama možemo da nađemo visinu 1476 metara jer su austro-ugari kao referentu tačku uzimali more u Trstu. Kasnijim mjerenjima u odnosu na more u Pločama visina vrha smanjena je na 1472 metra. Ova razlika je nastala zbog toga što je Trst ustvari kranji zaljev Jadranskog mora i visina mora jer zbog „priliva vode“ 5 metara veća u odnosu na Ploče. Prema posljednjim mjerenjima Karasovina je izgubila još jedna metar jer se kao početna tačka uzeo prosječni nivo svjetskog mora.
Planina Perun bogata je raznim šumskim plodovima i raznolikim ljekovitim biljem. Na Perunu se nalazi planinarski dom „Javorje“ gdje će vas dočekati ljubazni domaćini iz Planinarskog društva Perun. Naša je topla preporuka da posjetite Perun.

Perun is a mountain located in between Vareš and Kraljeva Sutjeska. Its highest peak is Karasovina, which with a height of 1471 meters is also the highest peak of the Zenica-Doboj canton.
Various stories are associated with his name, but the most likely one originates from the time when the Austro-Hungarians made the first topographical maps of this area, so the name of the peak is connected with the then landowner and one of the names of the peak at that time was Karahasanovina. Over time, as the maps changed, so did his name, so it changed from Karahasanovina to Karaosovina and eventually remained Karasovina. Likewise, its height changed, so in old maps we can find a height of 1476 meters because the Austro-Hungarians took the sea in Trieste as a reference point. Later measurements in relation to the sea in Ploče reduced the height of the peak to 1472 meters. This difference is due to the fact that Trieste is actually the farthest bay of the Adriatic Sea and the height of the sea is 5 meters higher than that of Ploče due to the inflow of water. Znate li gdje se nalazi jezero Nula najveći bunar pitke vode u BiH?
Vareško jezero Nula je najveći bunar pitke vode u Bosni i Hercegovini i jedan od turističkih potencijala Vareša. Smješteno na samom ulazu u Vareš i dosta pristupačno u 2020 godini mamilo je mnoge turiste.
Kako nam naši domaćini objašnjavaju tu su mnogi ribolovci zabacili svoje udice i ulovili mnoštovo riba, a oni pak smjeliji su se okupali na jezeru čije dubine su i preko 107 metara. Iako zvanično kupanje nije dozvoljeno ljeto 2020 godine je mnoge varešane i stanovnike okolnih mjesta natjeralo da svoj odmor i osvježeje potraže upravo na jezero Nula.
Dok jedni plivaju mračna strana jezera kaže da su tu ostale potpljene mašine koje su se koristile na kopovima rudnika Smreka. Kako nam je naš sagovornik objasnio jezero je nastalo prije više od 30 godina na površinskom kopu. Do devedestih voda se ispumpavala pumpama i tako se osiguravao rad.
Voda u jezeru je dolazila iz obližnjeg potoka i podzmenih voda što je rezultiralo da godinama kasnije Vareš bude prepoznatljiv po jezeru dužine 610 metara, a širine 320 metara, a dubine preko 107 metara.

Na Perunu se, okružen gustom jelovom i borovom šumom, i ne tako daleko od civilizacije, nalazi planinarski dom Javorje.
