Grindsted - A Traffical Centre
Between 1914 and 1919 Grindsted turned into a dynamic town with railways in six directions, an impressive station building, three platforms connected by subways, warehouses, a roundhouse, a water tower and a turntable. Covering approx. 140,000 square metres Grindsted had the 3rd biggest station area in Denmark.
The Birth of Grindsted
Due to the railways, Grindsted changed from being a village on the moor to a fast growing town with big industrial companies, asphalt roads, shops selling all kinds of articles, several grocery shops and a petrol pump on practically each street corner. The town grew from a little more than a few hundred people to thousands.
The Railways
The Danish State built the line between Langa and Bramming. The rest were private railways. The station building was finished on 1-Dec 1916. The architect was Prof. H. Wenck, who also designed the Copenhagen Central Station.

The Closing Down
Between 1957 and 1972 the railway lines closed down one by one. The state line continued to carry goods until the mid 80s, and up to 2012 goods have been transported to Grindstedværket (a chemical factory). The rails between Grindsted and Bramming were officially closed down in 2014.
A Dutch town in Germany and Blåvandshuk lighthouse in Denmark | Our Camper Trips
On this next fabulous trip to Denmark and Germany, we had some fantastic days. First, we attended the christening of our little grandson, and by surprise also the wedding of our son and daughter-in-law. By the Danish west coast, we saw the Bunker Mules and Blåvandshuk lighthouse.
On our way home, we stayed two days in Friedrichstadt.

MiniPrimiCamp is a perfectly kept secret - a little motorcycle paradise in Denmark
On my short visit in Denmark I got an invitation from motorcycle enthusiasts Jeanne & Peter, to come and talk about my journey at an event in Kvong, which is on the west coast of Denmark.
After the event I was hosted by Jeanne and Peter and I discovered that they have created quite the motorcycle camping paradise in their private garden. It even has a little mini enduro track around the camp.

The Danish TET is ideal for bigger bikes because the country is flat - but it's also one of the few places where you are allowed to ride on the beach - and you can ride to an island on an unpaved road - but only during low tide! So the Danish TET should not be underestimated. Come ride it - and visit the MiniPrimiCamp while you are here!

Det danske forsvar fik førhen repareret deres bæltekøretøjer i Nymindegab, og transporten af køretøjerne skete med jernbane via Vestbanen. Og grundet sporet ringe stand mellem Nørre Nebel og Nymindegab, blev det en opgave for Vestbanens rangertraktor
