So whether you have already been there or it’s your first time to visit the valley, this video is for you!

I hope you enjoy!

*****Interested in places I mentioned in video?******

Go here for a complete 3 days itinerary:

And Fantastic Airbnb I stayed in Valle de Guadalupe:

1. El Valle RV Park (Barril de vino con tragaluz #2) !
#2 has the best view! Two minutes away is “La cocina de Doña Estela for a Mexican breakfast or just buy cheese and apple pie during a day to have something for breakfast.

2. Casa Santiago en la Ruta del Vino #2
For sleeping in a trailer and to have the most memorable sunrise of your life!

Friends who sign up for Airbnb with my link will get up to $60 off a stay and $13 toward an Airbnb Experience of $50 or more.
=====================================

Day 1
La Guerrerense in Ensenada. It’s famous for their special tostadas with sea urchin and snails.

Tienda de quesos “Los Globos”. My favorites are from Ramonetti farm house. They have a rich taste perfect for wine pairing.
Don’t forget to try the sponge fresh cheese with rosemary!

Just a few steps to the right, you will see a shop with apple pies unique to the area. They are super rich and full of flavor.

Wineries...
Viña de Liceaga. It has decent flavorful wines, but their cypress garden is die for. It smells so good.

Finca Altozano. Chef Placencia cooks on an open fire using vegetables and meat they grow at their farm right there. Their Huge Wine barrels have stairs and it’s the perfect place to admire a 2 hours long sunset. Try their grilled octopus from the Pacific and wood-fired oyster mushrooms. It’s orgazmic. Just don’t forget to make table reservation. It’s always full of people.

Day 2.
Enjoy your breakfast looking out onto the mountains as they open up in front of the barril dome Airbnb. Make sure you buy your apple pie and cheese from their kitchen a day before for your breakfast the following day.

Casa Emiliana. It’s my secret sacred wine yard, incredible wine tastings and calm music, reminiscent of Italian Toscana wineries.

Xecue Winery. I recommend going for tasting the reserved wines rather than the younger ones.

For dancing between wineyards at sunset, choose a party at La Justina Valle. You will need to make a reservation by phone in advance. Perfect sounding music and an ambience of lots of beautiful friendly young people. It’s open till 10 pm.

Sleep in a trailer Airbnb Casa Santiago #2.

Day 3
Home-made Lasagna and pizza for a reasonable price at Dona Lupe...they also sell olive oils, jams and sauces to take home. Its to die for!

Vena winery. it’s quite something to behold. It’s small quantity but high quality production of natural wine without sulfites is impressive in itself.

The climate of Valle de Guadalupe makes it a very dry place and you will probably start thinking of finding a swimming pool. I found an incredible place called Boutique Valle de Guadalupe. The room rate includes breakfast. Where you will also be able to ride a bicycle in the morning and search for grapes and olives to eat. The bicycle use and sampling of grapes and olives is all free. There is also horse riding available for additional price.

OAXACA CITY, MEXICO | 10 Best Things To Do In & Around Oaxaca City

Oaxaca City is the capital of the state of Oaxaca in southwestern Mexico. It’s truly one of the best places to visit in Mexico thanks to its mix of interesting history, world-class cuisine, and colorful examples of indigenous and colonial cultures.

10 INCREDIBLE Things To Do In & Around Oaxaca City:

10. Watch the sunset
Since Oaxaca city is surrounded by mountains, it’s possible to enjoy wonderful sunsets and sunrises here. Go to any rooftop in the city or hike up to the “Auditorio Guelaguetza” for an amazing view.

9. Indulge in the Oaxacan Cuisine
From some of the best experimental restaurants to delicious street food, the Oaxacan cuisine is uniquely influenced by its cultural diversity. The area is best known for its 7 varieties of mole.

☑️ Cooking class:

8. Hike at Pueblos Mancomunados
About a 1.5 hour drive from Oaxaca City, you can find the Pueblos Mancomunados. We visited the largest village, named Cuajimoloyas, which was easiest to get to by local bus from Oaxaca City. There are a wide variety of outdoor activities you can do here including hiking, mountain biking, ziplining and bird watching.

7. Visit the Local Markets
“Mercado veinte de Noviembre” and “Mercado Benito Juárez” are great places to start and dive into the extraordinary food this area has to offer. They are both located in the historic center, just one block from the main square “Zócalo”.

6. Visit a mezcalería
It would be a shame to visit Oaxaca and not try its most famous spirit made from agave plants. There are many mezcalerías in the city where you can taste mezcal. But for a real authentic experience, head out of town and visit one of the surrounding mezcal distilleries.

5. Day trip to Mitla
Located about 31 miles, or 50km to the south of Oaxaca City sits the town of Mitla. Here, you can visit ruins that are of Zapotec and Mixtec origin as well as Prehistoric caves, which provided shelter for centuries with rock-art evidence from 10,000 years ago.

4. Visit the Historic Downtown (Free Walking Tour)
The city of Oaxaca has been able to preserve its unique character thanks to its beautiful colors and interesting architecture. Every day at 10AM and 5PM you can meet a local tour guide at the Teatro Macedonio Alcalá.

☑️ Free walking tour:

3. Join local festivities
Oaxaca is known to have some of the most incredible festivities where the creativity of the locals is expressed at its best. You can find entertainment in the city throughout the entire year.

2. Monte Albán
The historic settlement of Monte Albán is located on a mountaintop just 8 kms, or 5miles to the west of Oaxaca City.

☑️ Monte Alban tour:

1. Hierve el Agua
Located 1 hour and 45 mins from Oaxaca City, Hierve el Agua is truly one of the most unique natural wonders in Mexico. You can hike to the top and the bottom of the waterfalls or freshen up at the infinity pool, which offers some amazing views of the surrounding mountains.

Santiago ¿Qué hacer? / Costo X Destino with english subtitles

OAXACA, MEXICO | The Perfect Oaxaca Travel Itinerary (Coast to the Mountains in 2-3 weeks)

Oaxaca lies in the southwest of Mexico. It’s made up of a vast coastline and rugged mountains, with narrow valleys, canyons and ravines between them. Oaxaca is best known for its unique cuisine as well as its indigenous people and cultures. The largest indigenous groups are the Zapotecs and the Mixtecs, but there are sixteen groups that are officially recognized. These cultures have survived better than most others in Mexico thanks to the state's isolating terrain and commitment to honoring traditions. In this video, we will show you the perfect Oaxaca itinerary. This itinerary is recommended for at least a 14 day stay in Oaxaca and can be completed by public transportation, rental car, or a mix of both!

Stop 1: Puerto Escondido
How to get here: Direct flights from Mexico City and Guadalajara
Recommended stay: 3-5 days

Stop 2: Mazunte
How to get here: Bus from Puerto Escondido to Pochutla and tell the bus driver that you want to get off at San Antonio. From there, you’ll have to take a taxi or local collectivo.
Recommended stay: 1-2 days

Stop 3: Zipolite
How to get here: 20-minute taxi ride from Mazunte
Recommended stay: 1-2 days

Stop 4: San José del Pacifico
How to get here: Bus from Lineas Unidas Bus station in Zipolite directly to José del Pacifico
Recommended stay: 2-3 days

Stop 5: Oaxaca City
How to get here: Bus from San José del Pacifico main road to Oaxaca City (bus leaves every hour)
Recommended stay: 7 days including day trips as mentioned below

Stop 6: Mitla
How to get there? Take a bus or rent a car from Oaxaca City, which will take you here in approximately 1 hour.
Recommended stay: day trip

Stop 7: Hierve el Agua
How to get there? Located 70 kms or 43 miles from Oaxaca City, this is another site you can do as a day trip. You can rent a car or take a tour from Oaxaca. Alternatively, you can come by collectivo from Mitla.
Recommended stay: day trip

Stop 8: Pueblos Mancomunados
How to get there? There are buses to Cuajimoloyas and Benito Juárez that leave from the “second class” bus station in Oaxaca City a few times a day. The driver will drop you off near the “tourist office” where you can book your activities and accommodation.
Recommended stay: 1-5 days

Where to next?
After exploring the highlights of Oaxaca, you can continue your journey across other states in Mexico. The most common travel route goes to the southeast to San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas. It’s possible to take the ADO night bus from Oaxaca City, which takes about 12 hours.

Alternatively, you can head to the north towards Puebla and Mexico City. Puebla is another beautiful city and gateway to the surrounding mountains and volcanoes. It takes about 4 hours to get here.

Getting deep into an extinct volcano in Central Mexico

La Alberca, one of the seven volcanoes located in and around Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, was supposed to be home to a nessie-like cryptid. Once a full of water crater, and even used as some kind of water park by the locals in the 1970's, it is now fully dried-up. I still remember back in 1997 when came here for the first time as a kid and it still got water. It looked amazingly eerie and fascinating. Damn you global warming!
