Valencia is the capital city of Carabobo State, and the third largest city of Venezuela.
The city is an economic hub that contains Venezuela's top industries and manufacturing companies. The population of Valencia reached some 1.5 million in the year 2003, and it is expected to grow dramatically in the years to come. Greater Valencia unofficially incorporates the communities of Naguanagua, San Diego, and other smaller bordering cities. It is thought to be greatly underrated, partially due to its proximity to Maracay City (some 35 km away).
The elevation of the city is 520 meters . Valencia is located in a valley, surrounded by a mountain range called the Coastal Range (Cordillera de la Costa). On the eastern outskirts of the city lies Lake Valencia, Venezuela's second largest lake.

1 - Cidade das Artes e das Ciências
A Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències é uma visita obrigatória em Valência. Obra do arquiteto valenciano Santiago Calatrava, possui vários edifícios que se tornaram ícones da cidade. É um complexo de lazer científico e cultural para desfrutar com a família ou amigos que hoje ocupa cerca de dois quilómetros do antigo leito do rio Turia.
2 – Catedral de Valência, Miguelete e Santo Cálice
Construída sobre um antigo templo romano que mais tarde foi uma mesquita, a Catedral de Valência é predominantemente gótica. A Catedral é dedicada desde a época de Jaume I à Assunção de Santa Maria e mistura história e arte. Suas paredes e portas também protegem tesouros valiosos como o Santo Cálice. Documentação e estudos arqueológicos levam-nos a crer que o Graal de Valência foi utilizado por Jesus na Última Ceia.
3 – La Lonja de la Seda
La Lonja é um dos mais famosos monumentos do gótico civil da Europa. La Lonja é composta por três corpos claramente diferenciados e um jardim ou pátio de laranjeiras. Monumento Histórico Artístico Nacional desde 4 de junho de 1931, La Lonja foi declarada Patrimônio da Humanidade pela UNESCO em 5 de dezembro de 1996.
4 - Mercado Central de Valência
O maior mercado de produtos frescos da Europa, além de se destacar pela sua rica e variada oferta gastronómica, situa-se num dos edifícios modernistas mais emblemáticos da cidade. Com uma área de mais de 8.000 m², está repleta de imagens decorativas de produtos dos pomares e jardins de Valência. Sua estrutura, composta por colunas de ferro, que lembram a Torre Eiffel, azulejos e vitrais, fazem dela uma atração arquitetônica imperdível.
5 - Oceanográfico de Valência
É o maior aquário da Europa, com capacidade para abrigar 45.000 seres vivos de 500 espécies diferentes. Nele estão representados os principais ecossistemas marinhos do planeta. No Oceanogràfic também encontramos o Edifício de Ensino e Pesquisa, a área de reabilitação da fauna marinha, o Edifício de Acesso, além de restaurantes e lojas.
6 - Jardim Turia
É um dos maiores parques naturais urbanos de Espanha. Um espaço verde com mais de nove quilómetros transitáveis que atravessa a cidade com zonas recreativas, desportivas e recantos românticos. Do Parque de Cabecera à Ciutat de les Artes y les Ciències , o Turia Garden é um percurso ideal para corredores, ciclistas, famílias e amantes da natureza.
7 - Marina de Valência
O antigo porto da cidade é hoje a Marina de Valência, um espaço público de um milhão de m² aberto à inovação e atividades náuticas. Localizada ao lado do Paseo Marítimo de la Playa del Cabañal, La Marina de València tornou-se um foco sociocultural emergente da cidade. Cultura, formação e empreendedorismo convivem com desporto, turismo e gastronomia, numa frente marítima já consolidada como distrito de inovação.
8 - Bioparc València
Parque zoológico inovador em que as barreiras são praticamente invisíveis e os animais circulam livremente, tem uma área de 100.000 m² e está localizado na cabeceira do antigo leito do rio Turia.
