Best Day Trip from Valencia, Cuenca the City of Hanging Houses and Manga

Cuenca is one of the best day trips you can take from Valencia. Only 1h away on a train and you are in this museum city full of history, 15th century hanging houses portrayed even in Japanese manga stories. The landscape is gorgeous and there are a few super interesting museums to see.

BEST Neighborhood in Valencia, Spain (the ONE place I would live in)

???? Discover Valencia: Your Essential Guide to Living and Loving Life in Spain

Number 1 Neighborhood in Valencia to Live

OK, I have lived in many neighborhoods in Valencia, Russafa, Gran Via, El Carmen, Penya Roja, to name a few. It is very personal and all neighborhoods have their own beauty and character, BUT for me this one checks a lot of boxes- Gran Via. It has beautiful buildings, cozy wine shops, several international and local restaurants, great shopping as well as quiet streets. I dont understand why tourists dont stay at this neighborhood. Yes, it doesnt have major historic monuments but it is close to everything, so once you see all the top sites you need a place more functional. Gran Via is so convenient and chic I just love it.

Let me know which is your favorite neighborhood in Valencia!

== About Us ==
We’re Matt & Nat, a part-time, non-remote travel couple based out of Nashville, TN.

We launched in 2021 by visiting all 50 US states & documented our entire journey on our Blog & here on YouTube! After spending a full year focused on such a defined goal, 2022 left us feeling a little lost & wondering What's next?. We continued traveling & creating vlogs but always with the What's next? question lingering. During one of our trips, we came across the book “1,000 Places to See Before You Die” & were immediately drawn in by it & knew that it had to be a part of our adventures. So, in January 2023 we officially launched our “1,000 Places To See Before You Die” series where we’ve set out to see as many of the “1,000 Places To See Before You Die”… before we die!

We hope you’ll join us on the adventure & find some adventures of your own along the way! And remember... It’s better to see something once (even if only for a moment) than to hear about it a thousand times.

Valencia day trip to Wine Paradise ????????????

Amazing day trip from Valencia to one of the best wineries in this region
I came across this paradise due to change of plans and I did not regret it. However, even the most amazing place is not perfect. We took off from Joaquin Sorolla station to Utiel-Raquena region. It looks a lot like Tuscany or Southern France, but it is in Spain indeed. The winery and the poetic landscape was undeniable. The history and the tradition of growing the grapes and creating the wine has always fascinated me, but we encountered a few problems on the way.

Valencia Spain Travel Tips For Cruisers: Take a PUBLIC BUS

Valencia Spain Travel Tips For CRUISERS : Take a PUBLIC BUS helps you figure out how to get to the city center from the cruise terminal! The focus is on how to take a public bus for 1.50 euro (exact change), that drops you off near the Cathedral and the historic part of downtown, Zona Centro Historico. This is 4.5 km from the cruise terminal and is accessed by bus number 4. This is only one of the ways you can see Valencia, Spain on your own.
**Royal Caribbean provides a bus to the downtown area every 30 minutes directly from the dock , outside the ship for 10 EUROS. I am not sure where it drops off.

I wanted to venture out and see how a public bus works and what the city is like. One of my Valencia Spain Travel Tips would be to start early. The city has a lot to see and if you start late, you won't see much! The bus ride is about 35 minutes each way and runs every 15 minutes.

Valencia Spain is a modern, busy city where Paella was invented. There are some old buildings, squares, tapa bars like another Spanish city, but I would have to say this is more of a living city. It has about 792,000 people and is known for its city of Arts and Sciences. There is a planetarium, oceanarium and interactive museum. There is a park called Turia Park, that is car-free and cuts through the whole city. Here you can run, walk, bike, have a picnic or work out in designated areas. This is a bike friendly city with no hills! You can rent a bike for the day, but again, with the minimum time you have, my Valencia Spain it may not be enough time.
A travel tip would be to make a decision on what you'd like to do.....will it be a museum day, a park day, a shopping and restaurant day, a historic old down day etc. There are so many directions to go, it's a good idea to narrow it down!

Bus #4 drops you off in the Ciutat Vella district, near the Plaza Reine which has the Valencia Cathedral and lots of Plazas with shopping and food. We enjoyed just looking around and found a coffee shop for wifi. It was such a brief visit, but it was enjoyable.

The bus is easy and efficient. The bus driver will tell you where to get off if you ask him. You catch the bus exactly where you get off! It's easy and because we were at Docks 1 & 2, we took another free bus from the ferry terminal to our Wonder of the Seas Royal Caribbean Ship.

Good luck and enjoy your time! Maybe you can find even more than I did! Leave early!

Happy Cruising! Thanks for watching!

MORE INFO ABOUT THE VIDEO ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Spain is a complex country! It’s also a pretty easy going one. But there are certain things that you just don’t want to get wrong. And here they are!

11. Don’t go OTT on please and thank you.
In Spanish we just don’t use the words as much. We are more likely to work ‘please’ and ’thank you’ into the tone of how we speak, or by tweaking the words (such as adding “ito” to the end of a word).

10. Don’t put bread on your plate.
In Spain, you always leave your bread beside your plate on the table. It sites beside your cutlery, because it kind of is a piece of cutlery.

9. Don’t eat with your hand under the table.
I grew up with no elbows on the table. But here in Spain we also have the rule that you should have your hands above the table at all times. Because you might have a knife??

8. Don’t offer guests a beer at 5pm
Because we eat lunch and dinner later, beer o’clock is usually about 8pm… not 5pm.

7. Don’t help with the dishes after parties.
It’s just not something that’s done here. At the end of a party or dinner party, you might help tidy up slightly, but you don’t help do the dishes.

6. Don’t be a ‘pesado’ in social situations.
Chill out! Don’t ask people what their job is straight away when you meet them in a social setting and don’t expect people to cut to the chase when telling a story - we take our time here!

5. Don’t misinterpret loud conversations.
When Yoly speaks with her mother on the phone, it can get heated. But they’re not arguing - it’s just that conversations here often sound more intense.

4. Don’t generalise about Spain.
This is a highly regional country. So don’t assume that every region of Spain has the same language, customs or food.

3. Don’t call Catalan a dialect of Spanish.
Catalan is its own language - and don’t get that wrong (especially when speaking to a Catalan)

2. Don’t used ‘usted’ willy nilly.
Here in Spain we’re pretty informal and so don’t use “usted” unless we’re speaking with older people or in very formal situations.

1. Don’t mention the civil war casually.
The Spanish civil war and the dictatorship is a really complex topic, and still an open wound in Spain. So wait until you know someone pretty well before diving into the topic.

**Fastest & Best Converting Shopify Theme I Have Used So Far:**

**Bonus** Get 10% Off When Using Code WORKINGABROAD10 At Checkout!

**Hosting Service I Use For My Website That Gets 5,000 People A Day:**

**I Used To Use SiteGround But It Got Too Expensive And Slow... An No Its Not HostGator lol**

** Probably One Of The Best eCommerce SEO Courses I Have Found**

**Something to keep in mind. The course above DOES help with all SEO, but it is mainly for eCommerce stores as there is a slightly different way to attack eCommerce SEO vs Blogging. Also John is probably one of the few dropshippers I know that actually makes not only more money than me each year with his stores; he makes like 80% of his sales from Organic Traffic (Non-Paid Traffic). In contrast I am probably at 65% paid ad sales vs 35% organic traffic sales. Trust me you would rather be in his boat then mine**

**Important Note** Some of the links above are affiliate links and some are not. You do not get charged more for clicking on those links and in some cases you actually save money.
