???????? Street Walk Cuiabá - Brazil - 4K

Cuiabá is a Brazilian municipality , capital of the state of Mato Grosso , Central-West Region of the country. Founded in 1719 by Pascoal Moreira Cabral and discovered by Miguel Sutil , both pioneers born in the city of Sorocaba , São Paulo , it was practically stagnant from the end of the gold deposits until the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, it has shown population growth above the national average, reaching its peak in the 1970s and 1980s.

In the last 15 years, growth has slowed, following the decline that occurred in most of the country. Today, in addition to political-administrative functions, it is the main industrial, commercial and service centre of the state. It is known as the green city, because of the great afforestation. It is located on the left bank of the river of the same name and forms a conurbation with its neighbouring municipality, Várzea Grande.

According to 2021 estimates made by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, the population of Cuiabá is 623,614 inhabitants, while the population of the conurbation is 927,362; its metropolitan region has 1,041,307 inhabitants. The city was one of the twelve venues of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, representing the Pantanal, as it is located about one hundred kilometres from the Pantanal region.

The Pantanal
The Pantanal is the largest freshwater wetland on Earth, spanning an area of about 40 million acres (160000 km²). It has been recognized by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site. In Brazil, the Pantanal sprawls across the Mato Grosso State and the Mato Grosso do Sul State.

The Pantanal transforms into a huge floodplain during the rainy season, which lasts over 5 months. Heavy rains cause streams and rivers to overflow throughout November, December, and January, swelling the Pantanal with water and draining large quantities of microorganisms into the Pantanal. The Pantanal becomes soon completely flooded and, as a result, animals congregate on higher, non-flooded terrain (capões and cordilleras). This gigantic floodplain features ponds, lakes, aquatic vegetation, swampy forests, grasslands, savannas, as well as gallery forests and riparian forests.

Starting in May, the water’s gradual retreat sets the stage for quite a feast. The abundance of fish and crustaceans in the water helps by feeding numerous bird species that migrate to nest and reproduce. The dryer it gets, the more the water level goes down, leaving behind tons of fish that are at the mercy of hungry predators. This attracts a wealth of waders and birds of prey to ponds and mudholes where fish remain trapped after the water has receded.

The Pantanal harbours an exceptional concentration of wild animals. Besides, it offers an environment where wildlife is much easier to spot compared to the Amazon Rainforest, where the vegetation is very dense. With its extraordinary biodiversity, the Pantanal has the power to surprise naturalists and wildlife photographers.

There are two gateways to the Pantanal: Cuiabá in the Mato Grosso State (Northern Pantanal) and Campo Grande in the Mato Grosso do Sul State (Southern Pantanal).

The Northern Pantanal is home to the best destination in the world for Jaguar watching. In addition, it has a slightly higher terrain, where you can see lots of species, including along the Transpantaneira Park Road, an extensive dirt road that boasts wildlife.

Located in the heart of South America, the world’s largest wetland covers some 81,081 sq miles (210,000 sq km). The majority is in Brazil, split between the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. These open marshes are home to an immense variety of life – if you like to see animals in their natural environment, the Pantanal is an unmissable destination.

The Pantanal has few people and no towns. Distances are so great and ground transport so poor that people get around in small aeroplanes and motorboats; car travel is restricted by the seasons.

You can either penetrate the Pantanal from the north, where the Transpantaneira runs deep into the region, or from the south, where Estrada Parque cuts across the wetlands. The much-mooted road right across the Pantanal has long been shelved due to concerns about the general absurdity of having a road that's underwater for half the year.

???????? Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil | 2022 【 4K UHD 】

Farroupilha Park, better known as Parque da Redenção or simply as Redenção, is the most traditional and popular park in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Visited by many people from Porto Alegre during their leisure time, whether to practice sports, sunbathe or socialize drinking mate with family and friends.

STORY
The place where the park is today was the so-called Várzea do Portão, a large floodplain close to the old gate of Vila de Porto Alegre. In 1807, the City Council asked the then governor of the Captaincy of São Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul to donate the Várzea to be used as a public place, as well as a concentration area for the herds of cattle brought in for local supply.

In 1826, an attempt at subdivision was prevented by the Emperor Dom Pedro I. However, later Várzea suffered several other attempts at subdivision and alteration of its primary objectives, which were always impeded by the public authorities.

During the Farroupilha Revolution (1835-1845) the area was outside the city's fortifications, and after the conflict there were several irregularities, such as fences advancing its territory and buildings, duly demolished.

In 1870, Várzea received its first official name, changing its name to Campo do Bonfim, in view of the construction of the Capela do Bonfim.

With the progress of urbanization in the surroundings, health considerations have become important. Still subject to occasional flooding, the site was also used as a hide-drying area, a meeting point for trucks and an urban garbage dump until the mid-1890s.

In 1884 its name was changed to Campos da Redenção, commemorating the early abolition of slavery in the city. In 1889, alleys were opened inside for better landscaping. In 1901 the park was landscaped and embellished on the occasion of the great State Exhibition, which led to the construction of a bullfighting circus, a horse racing track and the velodrome of União Velocipédica, structures that did not survive for a long time.

In 1914, a Plan for the Improvement and Embellishment of the Capital was drawn up, providing for the park to be divided into nine blocks. In 1927, the effective landscaping of Campos da Redenção began, with the prohibition of stopping trucks and herds in 1928. In preparation for the Farroupilha Centennial Exhibition in 1935, the entire southern part was drained, leveled and urbanized. This year its name was changed to Parque Farroupilha, which remains until today.

In 1939 the water mirror was built. The Jardim Alpino, Jardim Ocidental and Jardim Oriental corners were established in 1941. After the great flood of 1941, a corner was created that received the old French cast iron fountain, which was installed in Pereira Parobé Square, and which had previously been in the XV de Novembro Square. In 1953, the Monument to the Expeditionary was inaugurated.

Since then, the complex has not ceased to be landscaped and urbanized, but the gardens have lost other fragments to make way for gas stations and an amusement park, a mini zoo and a sports complex. Of the park's original 69 hectares, 35.7 hectares remain today, with 45 monuments inside. On Sundays, the traditional Brique da Redenção is held in the park, with numerous stalls selling handicrafts, food and antiques. Parque Farroupilha was listed on January 3, 1997 by the municipality of Porto Alegre. The place is commonly a stage for popular demonstrations.

✅ VISITING THE COUNTRY SIDE OF BRAZIL | NOVO HORIZONTE DO NORTE - MATO GROSSO

✅ DISCOVER THE COUNTRY SIDE OF BRAZIL | NOVO HORIZONTE DO NORTE - MATO GROSSO

The origin of the town Novo Horizonte do Norte can be traced to the Imobiliária Mato Grosso Ltda - Imagrol, owned by José Kara José. The first citizen to arrive in Novo Horizonte was Sebastião Martins, a jaguar hunter, shortly before the town was colonized.

On August 21, 1968, Imagrol started the colonization, setting up a land sales office in Maringá, north of the state of Paraná. From there came a large part of the pioneer families.

José Kara José limited himself to selling the plots of land, allocating a part to the Public Patrimony and giving the place its name - Novo Horizonte (New Horizon). The settlers would have to progress by themselves. There were no means of transportation, communication or doctors. To buy food supplies, the families would head to Porto dos Gaúchos, where they stocked up on supplies. In the rainy season, the Mestre Falcão River was flooded and the crossing had to be done by boat.

Touched by the settlers' suffering and without the company's support, the parish priest of Porto dos Gaúchos, Fr. Ghunter, moved to Novo Horizonte, helped by opanistas from Operation Anchieta. The priest made himself available to the sick and helped with the work using the parish vehicle. The cooperation between the residents of the village and the settlers was responsible for the development of the town.

The town was created by State Law 5.013, of May 13, 1986. The term do Norte was added to differentiate it from the existing municipality in the state of São Paulo.

Claro, eu também me atrapalhei.

Obrigado a TODOS!
