Upwey is a residential suburb in hilly surrounds 34 km south-east of Melbourne and 2 km west of Belgrave.
Until the turn of the nineteenth century Upwey did not have a separate identity. In the middle 1890s the part of the locality was divided into ten-acre blocks as part of the ‘Scoresby’ village settlement scheme, which extended northwards to Ferny Creek. Notwithstanding the Scoresby appellation, Upwey was known as Mast Gully, after several ship masts had been cut from a gully in 1850. (Mast Gully Creek and Mast Gully Road remain.)
In 1897 three sisters, the Tullidges, bought a homestead and named it Upwey, after the English village on the River Wey. They persuaded the Victorian Railways to approve a stopping place near their house, and the name Upwey was given to it. The name was adopted by common usage, the Upwey Church of England being built in 1904 (now in the neighbouring locality of Tecoma). The post office was built in 1911 in a newly constructed store.

Olinda Falls Reserve - Dandenong Ranges Melbourne Victoria Australia
Around 55 km from Melbourne and Perfect place to have a short walk in the cool climate of Dandenong Rangers. Not the best place to sight scene but good for a quiet picnic and spend some time with friends and family.

It's a nice drive on country roads, I prefer to go to the Cameo Cinemas, as a member I get 2 tickets for $10 and very cheap additional tickets, it was costing us about $35-38 Australian dollars to go to the movies with 2 adults and a senior.

Malmsbury is a town in the State of Victoria, Australia. Located 100 kilometres north west of Melbourne and has the oldest Botanic Garden in Victoria.
Malmsbury is a 1 hour 10 minute drive from the Melbourne Central Business District (CBD) on the Old Calder Highway.
We had 2 hours to get lunch and visit the town - There were a number of cafes / restaurant type eateries to chose from with the Bakery on the main road having quite the history.
The Malmsbury area is known for its deposits of bluestone and the 1859 viaduct.
