We stayed in Ulsan for two nights and we felt that four nights would be just right due to a lot of interesting attractions there. If you are planning a trip to Ulsan (someday after the CoVid19 crisis is over), we suggest you to book a stay at Ulsan Riverside Hotel due to its close proximity to many things.

This is One of the best places to visit in Ulsan. Sobrang clean at nakakalibang ang ganda ng lugar. May mga coffee shops and restaurants sa area, playground, lighthouses, forest trails and more. May parking area of course and may mga malilinis na public comfort rooms so di problem habang namamasyal when nature calls????

Getting hereFrom Seoul by Train (ca. 3hrs 30 minutes total)➜ KTX train to KTX Ulsan Station [KTX울산역]➜ Bus #327, #357 or #807 to Bus Stop #21210 ‘Taehwagang National Garden Donggang Hospital’ [태화강국가정원 동강병원].
From Seoul by Bus (ca. 5hrs in total)➜ Express Bus from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal [동서울종합터미널] (also known as East Seoul Bus Terminal) or Gangnam Express Bus Terminal [강남고속버스터미널] to Ulsan Express Bus Terminal [울산고속버스터미널]➜ Bus #407 or #337 to Bus Stop #22012 ‘Croba Apartments [크로바아파트앞]’ (12 stops).➜ Walk 5 minutes down to the river and locate the Taehwangang Observatory and take a small boat, that is hand-drawn by rope, across to the bamboo forest. Tickets cost 1000 won per trip.
Taewagang National Garden is an area between the Taehwa River [태화강] and Ulsan City that was transformed into South Korea’s 2nd National Garden between 2004 and 2010, and it is now the largest riverside flower garden. It is located across Ulsan’s neighborhoods Taehwa [Taehwa-dong/태화동] and Samho [Samho-dong/삼호동] in the Jung District [Jung-gu/중구] and thus takes up 2.3 the size of Seoul’s Yeouido Park.
One attraction of this garden is Simni Bamboo Forest [십리대숲] —also known as Simnidae Forest, Sipri Forest or Seepri Forest— which is the largest bamboo forest in the country and counts as one of the Twelve Scenic Areas of Ulsan. It is four kilometers long and features 63 different kinds of bamboo from Korea, Japan and China. The bamboo was planted by the local villagers during the Japanese colonial period in an effort to prevent the Taehwa River from flooding their fields.
Other attractions in the garden include: canola and flower fields (flowering in spring and summer), a silver grass field (best viewed in autumn), Simnidaebatgyo Bridge, a migratory bird park (the largest urban bird sanctuary in Korea, where 8,000 herons and 50,000 crows fly in), traditional pavilions and the Taehwagang Observatory.
