We’re not the most adventurous travelers, but when Amazon Nature Tours invited us on a river cruise in the Amazon, we immediately said yes! It didn’t hit us that we’d be going “off the grid” until we received our packing list… hiking boots and hats with mosquito netting?! What would we need those for?!?

✈️ Fly into Manaus, the main city inside the Amazon Rainforest
???? You’ll actually cruise the Rio Negro (the least inhabited river in the Amazon) NOT the Amazon River—but it’s all within the Amazon rainforest!
???? One of the last nights on the boat is caipirinha night, when you’ll get to learn how to make delicious Brazilian caipirinhas (and maybe even try a little samba on the top deck)

CRAZY Carnival in Rio, Florianópolis and the BEST Beaches in BRAZIL?
There is so much to see in Brazil. Our time here was only about 5 weeks and we could have spent 5 years exploring and still not covered it all! From a long bus to Florianópolis, possibly the best place to visit in Brazil, to a crazy time at Rio Carnival 2019. Outstanding beaches and good times in Cabo Frio and Arraial Du Cabo. Our time was mainly around Rio state, covering historical Paraty and island life around Angra Dos Reis. We ended with a short stay with a friend in São Paolo before continuing onto another adventure.
In this video we showcase our highlights of Brazil, and all the places we visited in sequential order, showing our time here through a mixture of highlight clips and audio treats.

To wind down and relax in Angra Dos Reis, mainly because everyone had gone to a main nearby island and we booked too late, but spontaneous surprises are always the best (apart from getting bit by a dog).

PARQUE DAS AVES [ATUALIZADO 2023]
Se você está vai viajar para Foz do Iguaçu, vou te mostrar neste vídeo um passeio imperdível em Foz: o Parque das Aves!
O Parque das Aves é um passeio perfeito para quem está em família e gosta do contato com a natureza e os animais.
Fica localizado bem pertinho das Cataratas do Iguaçu. É só atravessar a rua para chegar ao Parque das Aves. Fica perfeito combinar os dois passeios no mesmo dia (sugiro fazer o Parque das Aves pela manhã e as Cataratas do Iguaçu à tarde, ou vice-versa).
O Parque das Aves é sensacional pela experiência muito próxima aos animais! São cinco viveiros de imersão, com periquitos, tucanos e araras voando sobre sua cabeça! Ao longo do passeio, você também vê flamingos, corujas, papagaios e até répteis, como jacarés, sucuris e jiboias.
O Parque das Aves em Foz do Iguaçu também tem lugares lindos para fotos, super instagramáveis. Eu também adorei o borboletário e a alimentação dos periquitos (paga a parte do ingresso, mas vale a pena).

This is Trilha dos Tucanos - SE Brazil!
Trilha dos Tucanos is located 2 hours and a half from São Paulo in a city called Tapiraí. This private owned little logde is considered one of the best birding hotspots in SE Brazil. A perfect place for birders and nature lovers! The bird list is long with more than 350 species, which many are Atlantic Forest endemics and others are even endangered.

If you are new to birdwatching and nature photography I strongly recommend good binoculars and good cameras. There are many binoculars of bad quality that can ruin your eyesight over time.
It is true that some binoculars are very expensive. But as a beginner you don't need them, you can have a much cheaper one that will definitely blow your mind as soon as you get your first cool bird in front of you!

Brazilian Birds in Iguazu Falls
There are many bird parks and zoo but this place called Parque das Aves is the most organic and natural-looking park which is known to have the most exotic species from Brazil's biodiversity. When created, it was taken as an existing jungle being enclosed for the safety of everybody and the preservation of species. The owners did an excellent job turning this place into beautiful nature for everyone to see.
