Trinidad, oficialmente Santísima Trinidad, es una ciudad de Bolivia, capital del Departamento del Beni y de la Provincia de Cercado, tiene una superficie de 35 km² y cuenta con una población estimada de 132.785 habitantes, siendo el municipio más poblado del Departamento del Beni.
Fundada a la orilla del Río Mamoré, por el Jesuita Cipriano Barace en 1686 con el nombre de La Santísima Trinidad era parte de las Misiones Jesuíticas. Debido a la situación desfavorable por las inundaciones, el sitio fue trasladado en 1769 a unos 14 kilómetros, donde se encuentra hoy a 160 msnm. Mi viaje a Trinidad, Bolivia.

The Ruta del Bufeo, known as the River Dolphin Tour, is one of the main tourist attractions in Trinidad, capital of the state of Beni, Bolivia. Along this tour you will slowly motor down the Ibare River, a major tributary of the Madera River, which in turn is a large tributary of the Amazon River. At one point it converges with the immense Mamoré River as well. All the rivers in the Department of Beni are Amazon tributaries.
Beni is home to a species of pink river dolphin that cannot be found anywhere else in the world, the Inia boliviensis. Because these dolphins are cut off from other river dolphins in other tributaries by several spots of rapids and waterfalls, they have evolved into a completely separate species found only in Bolivia. And yes, they really are pink. For those who enjoy the tropics, a boat tour down the Ibare River to swim with pink river dolphins (if they aren't too shy of you) is one of the top tourist attractions in Bolivia.

Beautiful Beni, Bolivia's Tropical Amazon - Bolivia Tourism
Beni is the second largest state in Bolivia and it's capital city is Trinidad. It covers the entire northeastern portion of Bolivia. Beni is criss-crossed by numerous rivers, all of which are Amazon tributaries. Other important cities in Beni are Guayaramerín, Riberalta, and for tourism, Rurrenabaque.
Because of this geography, Beni was a very important center of pre-Colombian civilization known as the hydro-culture of Las Lomas (the hills), a culture that constructed over 20,000 man-made artificial hills, all interconnected by thousands of square kilometers of aqueducts, channels, embankments, artificial lakes and lagoons, and terraces.
Beni, Bolivia is where many products that are now used worldwide have their origin, among them tobacco, peanuts, cotton, yucca (manioc), vanilla and sweet potatoes. The Spanish initially were intensely interested in this area. During the first century of colonization, they believed the mythical city of El Dorado (also known as Paititi) could be found in this region.
Beni's capital city, Trinidad, located in the Bolivian tropics, is hot and humid most of the year. This region of the country is heavily forested. Between the 19th and 20th Centuries northern Beni became Bolivia's rubber capital. The abundance of rubber trees attracted many people to the region, many of them adventurers and others workers (many of whom were indigenous) to work in the huge rubber plantations that arose. For decades it was one of the most active, dynamic regions of Bolivia.

Our Big Trip - Wildlife of the region around Trinidad, Bolivia
On a wildlife tour with “Chuchini” Amazon Wildlife Eco Reserve & Lodge near Trinidad, Bolivia, you maybe get lucky and find some native animals of the Bolivian Amazon area – including capybaras, different monkeys, a lot of bird species, caimans, sloths, coatis and tracks of the big mammals around here.

Paseo por Puerto Ballivian , Trinidad Beni Bolivia
Puerto Ballivian, una pequeña comunidad situada a 9 Km. de la ciudad de Trinidad, Bolivia , asentada en las márgenes del Río Ibare, con la característica común en diferentes poblaciones ribereñas o próximas a los ríos en la zona del oriente boliviano propensa y expuesta a eventuales inundaciones, producto del rebalse y desborde de los ríos en la época aluvional principalmente en los meses de noviembre a marzo de cada año, factor que actualmente se ha acentuado como consecuencia del cambio climático global lo que representa un perjuicio y un trastorno en la vida cotidiana, sin embargo la zona es considerada de gran interés turístico, posee unas singulares vistas, un ecosistema de flora y fauna sorprendente, con mucho potencial y es la puerta de ingreso al área protegida Ibare – Mamore. Los pobladores de la comunidad desarrollan su actividad económica con la venta de algunos productos extraídos de las áreas ribereñas que son transportados via fluvial a este puerto, el cual también acoge a varias embarcaciones de gran tamaño que prestan servicios turísticos, así como también servicios de expendio de comidas sobre todo en base en pescados (las mismas que se elaboraban en las cocinas de las propias viviendas y eran servidos en sitios improvisados y precarios en las márgenes del río).
Se propuso la implementación de una costanera turística y muelle embarcadero adentrándose próximo y paralelo a las márgenes del río con la característica de un puente pasarela elevado a un nivel considerable (de acuerdo a un análisis topográfico de niveles en referencia de inundaciones anteriores) para resguardarlo de la crecida de las aguas, construido con base en una estructura de hormigón armado en el lugar que temporalmente se encuentra en contacto con el agua (material incorruptible a las condiciones climáticas extremas), en la superficie se planteó plataformas con columnas de madera y cubiertas de jatata (hojas de palmeras características de la región), semejando a las tradicionales edificaciones de la zona, que en este caso son utilizadas como restaurante – mirador con una cocina comunitaria externa, batería de sanitarios, aspecto que mejoro las condiciones de servicios gastronómicos y turísticos del lugar, al mismo tiempo esta estructura se adapta a la época y a las circunstancias para beneficiar y mejorar las condiciones de vida de la población que sufre en la temporada de lluvias y posibles inundaciones, la misma que podria eventualmente convertirse en un refugio y alberque temporal. El diseño de estos espacios públicos proponen proyectar y crear un paisaje diferente en el lugar , que al mismo tiempo se mimetize , se integre y respete la vegetación y el ecosistema. El uso y apropiación de este espacio público tiene que darse no solo en época seca sino también en época lluviosa y de crecida del río, en el cual los usuarios interactúan y forman parte de este gran escenario natural, es decir que la época de inundación o crecida de las aguas no se convierta en un problema y un trastorno para la población y para los visitantes sino más bien que se convierta en un verdadero atractivo.

Se encuentra a 5 kilómetros al Sur de Trinidad. es una laguna artificial que, fue construida por la antigua civilización hidráulica del gran mojos y del Paitití, que la bautizó con el nombre de Socoreno (Laguna de animales).
Fue utilizada como reservorio de agua para la producción piscícola y Es uno de los sitios más visitados los fines de semana.
La Laguna Suárez es un excelente lugar para los amantes de los deportes acuáticos, pero también para quienes disfrutan de un descanso o caminata contemplando la flora y la fauna oriental.
En el lugar existen muchas aves.
Es un gigante espejo de agua, mide 4.5 kilómetros de largo y 1.8 kilómetros de ancho.
Es muy visitado por los turistas locales y extranjeros; ofreciendo varios servicios turísticos en los diferentes balnearios ubicados en sus orillas.
La laguna rebalsa de historia.
Es un sitio privilegiado para entender la importancia del agua en las culturas prehispánicas de moxos y disfrutar de la serenidad y de la vida que este elemento proporciona a todos los animales que habitan cerca de él.
En las orillas de esta laguna se han encontrado piezas arqueológicas, trozos de cerámica y algunos elementos de piedra trabajada que algunos se encuentran en el museo de la ciudad.

Siempre ha sido uno de los mayores atractivos de Trinidad pero hoy por hoy se encuentra amenazado por empresas que afectan y ponen en riesgo su existencia ya qué hay un daño evidenciado que se le está haciendo al drenar sus aguas a extensos campos cultivos de arroz que solo benefician a un grupo de personas.
